I love Mantra - great atmosphere, terrific food, excellent service. The menu varies regularly - but the friendly and attentive service does not!
Mantra is a favorite restaurant for excellent Indian cuisine. In addition to the tasty and well prepared food, the service is friendly, efficient and accommodating.
Food was fabulous and the service was great. Overall an enjoyable dining experience
Most annoying part is that we had Open Table reservation for 8P and only got seated at 8:40. Besides that service was good and food consistently very good (my 3rd time eating there). The kebabs are all delicious. Tables are a bit small for all the food that comes out. Really cramped and felt that we were constantly at risk for knocking something over.
The food is always great! I recommend Mantra for date and groups.
Wonderful authentic Indian food with very gracious service.
Great food and service!!
I have eaten here at least 2 dozen times and the food and service have always been awesome. I made the reservation at the last minute, and arrived on time, but it appeared that there really were no open tables. The hostess walked past us at least 5 times, without even making eye contact or greeting us. When she finally did, she told us she would find us a table. We went over to the bar, and asked about ordering there, which was fine. The hostess came back 20 minutes later, informing us she now had a table.... we had already placed our order. I was told they had an off premise party and that’s why it was so chaotic, but in that case perhaps should not have taken our reservation. Truly not a great experience.
No point in making reservations with them. They don’t honor them. I was told everyone makes reservation by one of the managers. Had to wait 45 mins to get a table.
Don't go there on Saturday. The food was really good, but we had to wait well over an hour for it. Will avoid this place on the weekend now.
Love the service and food is consistently great!!
Excelent food and great service.
Our server was excellent. Unfortunately I dont remember his name. He is a Gem. What a great service. Food was great
Food was excellent as always.
Great Indian dishes. Tandoori kabobs in particular very tender and flavorful. Hot curries were indeed spicy good.
This is a special restaurant for us! My daughter is Gluten Free and Dairy Free and they have a lot of choices when asked. Sam is the best waiter and is filled with suggestions and so helpful when ordering!
great all the way 'round,' would go again. Excellent good, service was perfect.
Best Indian ever!
Mantra is our favorite place. We are regulars there because of the food and service and the atmosphere is sexy and hip - we love it!
My family and I visited this place a few times ! We were there this past weekend and the place seems not clean and food all over the floor . They seem to want to create a high end environment but clearly not delivering that kind of service with their food or service .
Prices are also quite high . Unfortunately will not be dining there anymore .
The service was excellent and the food is amazing. They provided free sample of food for our table. Our waiter was highly engaged and offered many suggestions.
Mantra is our favorite place to go for dinner. The food is out of this world, the staff is the hardest working, eager to delight, most lovely group of hard working professionals and we adore it there.
Thank you Mantra for a delicious dinner and cocktails. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed. Presentations was excellent as was the service
Steamed Okra had to be sent back because it was freezer burned.
One of our dishes were extremely spicy. Even after informing the waiter he didn't offer to change it. He simply said yeah, that's tandoori, it's spicy and left my husband to suffer through it. We had no idea what that was. He didn't explain much. It was mother's day weekend. We were a party of 7 people with a $300.00 bill. 18% of that was his mandatory tip of $44.00. He didn't deserve that tip. Other waiters were serving us because our waiter was avoiding our table. They other waiters should have gotten that tip.
We will not be back. I heard better things about the Jersey City location. It's a pity Paramus couldn't live up to the standard.
Great customer service, great food and ambience. Plan to return again soon.
Horrible and unprofessional service. The manager of the restaurant is a running joke. The bartender doesn’t know what a menu is. They take reservations but announce that they are full when you arrive. If not for great food, this place would have been long gone.
Excellent food and service. I’ll be back again
Mantra is our favorite restaurant. If it were a club, we wold be card-carrying members. The staff treats us like family, the food is unrivaled, the service is perfect, the cocktails are great - we love it. Last weekend my husband and I said "Just when we thought Mantra couldn't be any better, this past weekend it even bested itself. Needless to say, we'll be back next weekend!
Food was delicious!! Service was awesome
Great Indian food
My husband and I enjoyed an early evening meal at Mantra.
Although we were made to wait for 30 minutes even with a reservation (and an open table that was available when we arrived and the one were seated in 30 minutes later) I can say that the service was prompt and the food was worth the wait. It was one of the best Indian meals we have had in quite some time. The place was busy but once we were seated, everything was wonderful. A definite recommend if you are a fan of authentic Indian cuisine.
Excellent service, poor food, very pricey. The appetizers we ordered were very pricey and table side chaat was terrible. Service was excellent and the ambiance was good. Would not recommend to anyone going there on special days.
overpriced for what you get
portions are really small.
don't waste your money
i waited 15 minutes for the check
It was the best Indian meal that I have had. My two friends are in agreement. Bonnie was an excellent waiter. I can’t wait to go back!!!!
We went to Mantra with friends. We opted to order from the menu instead of the buffet. The presentation, esp. of the appetizers was excellent and so was the taste. The entrees and the deserts were very good also.
Food was excellent - and the amuse de Boucher tomato soup was outrageously good.
As usual food was excellent - but, we were kept waiting for 50 minutes for our 8.30 reservation. Hostess was clueless, lied to us when we arrived saying "just setting up your table". Asked to speak to Manager, after we'd been fobbed off twice more with "table will be ready soon" - but no manager ever appeared! I wonder if there was a manager there. Very, very disappointing as we have been there many times without a problem. Will be unlikely to go back again.
Every time I go to Mantra, I wonder why I don't go more often. The food is authentic and flavorful, flavorful in a way that you taste every wonderful herb, spice and other ingredient. It is always great: great service, lovely ambiance, friendly vibe. It is far and away the best Indian restaurant in this part of New Jersey, and on a par with the best of New York City. This time I will go again soon.
Mantra never disappoints. We brought friends this time to enjoy a first rate Indian dining experience. We started with the table side chat for 4 of us. My wife had the usual shrimp saag. I had chicken tikka masala and our two friends had chicken korma. Jasmine rice and onion kulcha were fragrant and hot. Kitchen is always mindful of our requests for either mild or medium spiceyness. Ambiance and service are first rate. Just an all around great dining experience.
