Elegant and inviting; with a sumptuous decor awash in the hue's of India's signature spices and decor, the senses were meant to be indulged. Every aspect of Mantra; the food, the decor, the ambiance was designed to excite your senses while also ushering them through the passage of Culinary Nirvana.
Buttered Leavened Bread.
Shredded Chicken In Creamy Tomato Gravy.
Food is very good. I tried the Baingan Bharta with Laccha Paratha. It was excellent. We also tried a paneer dish, mantra daal and naan. Also very good.
The menu is quite large. Its all North Indian Food.
The service was not very well organized. The waiter was having trouble keeping track. He came to ask about our order after it had been given. Maybe it was because it was the long weekend.
We also had glare from headlights in our eyes. That was a bit annoying.
I would go again for the food.
They just say that reservation works but no even if you reserve the table they will say you to wait and the food its pathetic, even if you dont order the dish you will get it on the table wrong dish and then you even get charged for it if you dont even touch restaurent was used to be good but now the mantra has a ego in it because they thing now they are the king of market. But it will not last because customer is king of the market.
The meat quality is poor. Could not eat chicken because it tasted bery bad. The rest was good, especially naan bread was delicious
Bad service. Poor listening skills of the waiters. Rude staff.
Exceptional service and food
Nice, if unremarkable, restaurant in a somewhat odd location. Interesting decor. The place could use a touch up and some cleaning. On our visit, our table was sticky and there were annoying flies buzzing around. Sone waitstaff appeared surly and with not a pleasant attitude. Food was decent, especially mulligatawny soup, tandoori chicken, Murgh tikka Marsala. Daal Mantra was definitely a pass as was the peas pulao; something out of a package would have been better. Mango brûlée interesting concept but basically a few chunks of discolored mango embedded in a not very creamy base. Marsala chai flavorless and not freshly made. This could really be a great place with just a bit of TLC.
Order delivery from here all the time. Went there for Mother's Day and the service was excellent. We ordered different items than we have had in the past and everything was great. Very diverse menu compared to most Indian restaurants representing many different states in India. Definitely been my favorite Indian restaurant for the past few years.
this restaurant if very nice. The sevice is a bit slow, and we needed everything on the menu translated to us, but the food was good, good portions, nice looking place.
The food was amazing! Loved the decor! Everyone was so friendly. We’d definitely come back again.
Very tasty!!! I recommend this place! I like this restaurant ❤️
First time visiting this restaurant. Impressed with the service and quality of food. Will definitely be going back.
I reserved here for my graduation dinner as I am celebrating becoming an esthetician, I must say they did not let me down! It was a different experience for me and my family and I am so happy with how things turned out. The server was also extremely helpful and attentive!
great food and nice people. The restaurant seems very authentic.
The food was delicious. It took too long (20mins) for a server to attend, although once they did, they were friendly, prompt, and professional.
Upon arrival we were told that they don't accept opentable reservations and we had to wait over 40 minutes for our table.
The food was delicious. The ambiance was beautiful. The wait staff was courteous. The only reason my rating wasn't 5 stars is that the number of customers put an unexpected strain on wait staff. I will definitely go back.
As we enter the restaurant we were taken care of immediately. The ambience was beautiful all in all, however as the evening progressed so did their business and I don’t think they were ready for everything that happened that night. Lots of delivery people waiting for their orders as well as guests waited to be seated. We received our appetizer 50 minutes after we ordered and our food 15 minutes after that. Throughout that time, no one came by to check in on us. Restaurant also became super loud after they allowed a party of 25 people to come in. Ambiance was not romantic anymore and we didn’t feel safe. So we left as soon as we could.
All in all, the food was amazing! And the restaurant is beautiful! Definitely check it out again during a less busy time.
Very delicious food, clean, great service.
Great food. It reminded us of being back in London two years ago. It was exactly what my husband wanted for his birthday.
The food quality dropped like a rock and the customer service was non existent....probably never will go back.
Excellent food selection and preparation. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and quiet. Service was outstanding with good suggestions and without overbearing presence.
Food always amazing. Great service. Tandoor chicken, lamb, prawns, naan Kashmiri, mango lasse all wonderful!
Food was outstanding!
This is a no-brainer. I love going to enjoy ethnic cuisine where the ethnic community goes themselves. If it feels like someone's grandma is cooking then it must be good. Welcome to Mantra!
Waiter was helpful and food was bold and exciting. I only wish they wrote the descriptions of the items on their menus.
Service great! Good yummy! Outside seating was lovely. Overall great experience
Was a great service and great food... definitely will return :)
Lovely ambiance for semi- outdoor dining with open air but a roof over your head.
Of the half dozen or more Indian restaurants I’ve been to this is the best. Superb food. Curry lamb. Coconut eggplant. Naan. Shrimp and chick pea lentil appetizers. Great servers. Reasonably priced. Good portions. A real find in an unexpected area. Will definitely return!
We dine at Mantra whenever we are in the area. The entire experience is so enjoyable. The food, service and ambiance make it a happy place for us. This is the second time we took friends who claimed to not like Indian food. They loved it. Highly recommend Samosas, lamb Rogan Josh, Murgh Makhani, Murgh Tikka Butter Masala, Palak Paneer, Spinach Pulao, and garlic naan.
The service by Maaz & whole staff was awesome & the food was delicious!
Food here is always super. Host said he couldn't find our Open Table reservation. I had to show him the confirmation. Then they threw together a table not usually used. It was fine. Our server was excellent and offered us a larger table later, but we declined. Overall very good and we keep going back.
Good place for family and friends. Food was okay this time but usually its good. Alot of people. Good sitting also but a bit loud.
Good food & service!
Prices are little higher for the food portion served!
Fantastic first time at Mantra! Can't wait to go back with friends!
Best food I’ve had in a long time!!
We always suggest Mantra to our friends and family. Great food and ambiance.
What a gem! Looking for something different on New Years Eve, my wife and I made our first visit to Mantra and we happy we did! From the atmosphere to the food, everything exceeded our expectations. The tandoori chicken was the best we ever had! We’ll be back with a group as they have nice tables perfect for a party of 8-10.
Wonderful meal. Mantra has to be one of the best Indian restaurants in Chicago and there is no buffet. Fabulous
Beautiful restaurant. Love the decor. Service could have been better, in the middle of taking our order the waiter left because his cellphone rang. Another guy replaced him. Food was amazing and we will definitely go back.
