Worst experience in service. Appetizers arrived late , server gave an attitude when we asked one dish of Mantee without the sauce saying “why didn’t you tell me before ?”
Asked 3 times to refill the glasses of water and then finally the birthday desert came with hair in it. Terrible terrible experience. !!!
Mantee never fails to satisfy and impress. Highly recommend.
Delicious straightforward food, friendly, warm wait staff, and a quiet pretty patio. Great spot for lunch.
After making reservations we had to wait 30min . After waiting for more than 30min the waiter is telling us I can clean this table for you guys but we don’t have food we ran out. Really???? First and last time of us going there. Unprofessional.
Great food & great service. Wish there were other (more) veggies however. I am allergic to “nightshade” types & there were no others.
Delicious food. Lovely patio setting. Valet parking in back. Service was lacking. Waiter showed up right when we (4) sat down. But then he actually sat down at the table with us -- Don't sit at my table, dude! Inappropriate and weird. And he proceeded to be non-existent for entire night. Couldn't even get a glass of water.
Food is phenomenal. Delicious, out of the ordinary, interesting ingredients and tastes. Waiters are very accommodating and helpful, and prices are extremely reasonable. The outside patio is beautiful.
Amazing as always.
I bring all out of town visitors there. Great food and the patio is wonderful in the spring air.
We discovered this lovely restaurant 3 years ago and have been coming to celebrate various birthdays and mother’s days yearly since! Great food, great service and great ambiance!
The food was delicious, especially the hummus. We had a chance to sit in the back room this time which was really nice and quiet. Loved it.
Discombobulated waiters, bringing wrong food to wrong tables. Took forever to get our wine even after asking repeatedly. It finally came after the food was served. Food was tepid and bland. Finally the bill arrived and it had several items listed that we did not order (which of course they reversed). Definitely not their finest hour especially for a special Valentines Day dinner. Past experiences were far better, but this night was not good.
Their food is always sooooo good, the chefs traditional manti is the best I have ever eaten, the staff their are also amazing and always check up on you to see how you are doing. Everyone treats you with a lot of respect there!!
Food is delicious! Great date spot or go with a group so you can try lots of different appetizers.
Hidden Gem. Best restaurant in the area by far. We go at least once a month.
The food was good but the service was very poor. Slow. Had to ask for water refills. Appetizers arrived during our entree. Table was poorly bused.
Food was amazing. Small portions. Get the mint tea. Fresh mint. Would come back.
We visited this Lebanese/Armenian restaurant for a third time, remembering its outstanding Mediterranean cuisine. We were not-at-all disappointed in the food.
Our Armenian chopped salad ($8) was delicious and generously sized for two - with its unusual lemon and balsamic dressing. Our falafel appetizer ($8) is a terrific value. Our charbroiled chicken kebabs ($17) were flavorfully marinated and plated off their skewers. Dessert was exceptionally-delicious homemade baklava ($8).
Unfortunately, these outstanding Mediterranean specialties were marred by truly embarrassing service. Our reservation (Open Table) had been screwed up by someone in the house who gave away our table. Our hot falafel appetizer sat within our view on the kitchen counter cooling, unnoticed, while our server chatted with other customers, his back to the kitchen. Our after-appetizer wait was so lengthy that the owner actually inquired of us if we were being "kept waiting for our food."
This is a tiny restaurant, with barely a handful of "inside" tables. For nine months of the Los Angeles year, that's not a problem, because the restaurant has a huge "outside" seating area, including a small covered patio and a much larger "garden" section. Our visit, on a very chilly December Saturday night, meant "inside" tables were at a premium... and because of the staff's reservation snafu, we were seated (no choice) at one of the "outside" tables. They're "romantic," but cold. An overhead heater helped a bit, but we observed other patrons being given blankets for their legs (!) because the staff couldn't successfully light another outside heater. (Isn't that the sort of thing a restaurant's staff should check before opening for dinner on a Saturday night?)
Private parking is available immediately behind the restaurant, from an alley. But it's (no option) "valet" parking with a mandatory $6.50 fee for restaurant patrons, $10 for others, which means the restaurant doesn't save spaces for its own customers.
Food is exceptional . It just that they were out of several items that was on the menu
We asked to sit outside, but what seemed to be the manager was pretty rude about it. Our waiter was really friendly, on the other hand.
I always love Mantee, and look for any excuse to have dinner there. This was a birthday dinner for a friend. We loved everything: Labne Toom, Mutabbal, Mantee Traditional, soft and crispy pita. But the Queen’s Delight and Spicy Potatoes were our favorites. We were well cared for. It was a lovely, festive evening.
A fun, wonderful restaurant. Food is great. Service might be a drop slow, but everyone is lovely.
Three different experiences are available, the front room (no décor) for a quick bite and quiet conversation, the back enclosed porch ( like home nothing fancy but clean and more than adequate for laying out all of the different tastes and combinations of hummus and other favorites) and the outside backyard dining open to the sun and the moon. Only one experience is available for the food: you can't go wrong; if you like spicy let the server know; if you do not like spicy let the server know, if you need to know the ingredients just ask and then just allow yourself to think about a number of mainstream entrée choices like all kinds of delicious kabobs (including vegan) and whole, pan-fried branzino, while you are busily chatting and passing around the variety of small plates that can be entrees themselves. The last blast is delicious coffees or teas with the traditional baclava or just order both of theother 2 offerings which I cannot pronounce and which make cotton candy and crème brulee seem quite pedestrian.
Horrible service is an understatement. I used to frequent here. Tried it again. Took 45 minutes to get water, no one checked on us and the noise level was off putting.
I would not recommended if seeking an enjoyable evening.
Great foods as always.
We always enjoy our experience at Mantee. Frequently we have take out. But, the experience of great service and staff recommended wines and dishes beats take out.
Great atmosphere for experiencing cultural cuisine and Armenian wines. Follow the lead of you wait staff.
The menu is not vegan friendly at dinner time. My husband ordered and enjoyed lamb chops and being vegan I ordered the “raviolis without the yogurt sauce. It was not entre sized and the waiter never told me that. Then they just assumed we would share both the lamb and the ravioli which were unique but not a meal. So then I ordered the Armenian salad which filled the void but was boring as an entree. It is basically a bowl of marinated cucumbers. At lunch time they offer several vegetarian combo plates which are not available at dinner time. I think they should just raise the price at dinner and still offer those plates for people who want to eat vegan or vegetarian.
WE enjoyed it a lot. Great menu. Can't wait for the garden seating next door to open also.
Charming and welcoming. Wish there was more variety in the food/side choices but overall we liked it and the servers were lovely.
Always beyond exceptional. The service & the food is always excellent. Great for lunch & a cozy dinner.
My 8 year old boy’s birthday dinner, this is his favorite restaurant!
Food is tremendous. Patio ambiance amazing. Strongly recommend!
Food is so good every time! Can’t wait for their bar next door to open.
Unforgivable wait for service. Took 45 minutes to get water and drinks. Will not go again
The food was fantastic, but we had to ask for everything we wanted three or four times before getting it. Yes, it was a Friday night, but just because the restaurant is busy doesn’t mean a server can’t take a moment to get a check. We asked for our check multiple times and it wasn’t until my date told a server we’d been waiting for 20 minutes to get our check that we finally received it. I was disappointed because I have been to Mantee before and haven’t experienced this type of service before. Maybe it was just an off night for the staff, but I probably won’t be back for awhile.
Food is very good but sometimes the service is a little inconsistent.
They need more help with service. Poor guy was running around
Hot day in LA, but we sat outside in their rear patio and it was absolutely delightful. The food was fantastic. Fattoush, labne, and, of course, their traditional AND veggie Mantee dumplings. Also highly recommend the sweet and sour kebab. The service was just wonderful - everyone incredibly attentive to us as we had an 8-month old with us who fussed a bit before falling asleep. I wished I lived her so I could go all the time!
As authentic as it gets! A lot of the dishes taste are a close 2nd to dishes that my mom and aunt make.
We enjoyed our meal. Every dish was good. Unfortunately, my wife bit down on something in the humus and cracked her tooth. She informed the restaurant they seem cooperative.
