Excellent local eatery! We need to come here more frequently!
This restaurant is a hidden "hole in the wall" gem. There are no fancy furnishings or expensive lighting or music. This is just a plain and simple casual restaurant with fantastic food at great prices. They serve a mixture of Greek and Italian dishes and all are excellent! The spanikopita is the best in town!
We had a great experience. The service was very attentive and the food came quickly (we had our toddler with us). The house Olive oil is delicious, we took a bottle home too! The restaurant is very casual and there were a lot of people coming in and out picking up take out. It was pretty loud and chaotic but we didn't feel rushed. We will go back.
Seating is very cramped, even for slender people. Second visit here, and will look for others. Convenient location, but ok food and just not comfortable at the 2-person tables.
This is a great little place and the food was great!! They have Italian and Greek food. They also have a refrigerator with some prepared food that you can take home and heat up. There is parking on the side and in the back of the building. There are a few stairs to do if parking in the back. If you are lucky enough to park on the side, then you just walk right in the front door. I would definitely recommend this place. We made a reservation, but when we arrived there were plenty of tables. But I would always make a reservation.
Great food and exceptional family-friendly wait staff.
We were impressed with the food and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. We will plan to return again.
They were packed full the day we went and were very flustered when we arrived despite a
My girlfriend and I had a a good dining experience. The food was good and staff were friendly. They also were thoughtful and kind to give us a free dessert on Valentine's Day.
The only “knocks” on this place was the ceaser salad and occasionally the service was slow. The salad was thin strips of iceberg lettuce like you would find on a sandwich. Not the right cut for a salad. Otherwise I can not recommend this place enough. The food was outstanding and it is a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. And as you would expect.. the canolies were on point.
Bethesda is lucky to have this unpretentious neighborhood place with fantastic food. Really good food. Every time we go, we love it. Never a disappointing meal. Thanks!!!
Nice, pleasant meal! A little cramped, but it is a small place.
We were a group of 6 who all enjoyed our food. The service was very good, and the place had a nice, casual vibe to it. Parking in the back made it very convenient. We would definitely go back.
Good food, good service, warm and friendly local restaurant.
The location was perfect and couldn’t have been happier to not drive into downtown Bethesda! Between the service and the food we will definitely be back. Thanks to all for a great experience!
Overall, it was a great dining experience. The food was flavorful and the service was good. Only real issue was that a family w two screaming toddlers were running around the dining area. Ugh. The dining area is small so there was no escape but outside of that, I would definitely return.
Great neighborhood Italian. Busy, lots of carryout.
Great food as usual. Always up to par as expected. Greek or Italian menu items are equally palatable and authentic.
Chicken parm was excellent. The “big” Greek salad had lots of pita bread but was a bit short of actual salad for a dinner salad.
This was our second time there in less than a week and we loved it. Very casual and friendly atmosphere where the owner again greeted us. Service and food were excellent. I had the special on both nights and they were very tasty. Prices are reasonable which makes a very easy choice. Try them.
Manoli Canoli was a real surprise as we live nearby and didn't really know that it was there. Everything about our time there was excellent starting with the owner coming over and to take our drink order where he quickly offered a taste before I selected a bottle of wine. Their menu is very diversified. Our server was very cordial and professional and helpful in our menu selections. My order of the special, flounder was one of the best I've had in that it was perfectly cooked and my wife's sausage and spaghetti was very good. Their desserts were also extremely tasty. The owner came by again as we were leaving giving us a great feeling that they really cared for their customers. We recommend them highly and in fact are returning there tomorrow night to try their early bird specials and their pizzas.
What a great little restaurant in the heart of Chevy Chase Maryland. The food was cooked to perfection and the service was beyond excellent. We will be back.
I was in the mood for pizza and hadn't been to this place in years, so decided that was enough reason to go. Since I knew what I wanted, I didn't check out the menu too much, but enough to notice that despite the name, this is a combo Italian-Greek spot. Had spanakopita appetizer, it came as five individually filled triangles, instead of portion of a larger pie, with a small salad. They have thin crust & Chicago style pizza, I chose the thin, small size, and the server offered to cook it in the wood oven for crispy crust. The crust was indeed crispy but did not have that stretchy, glutenous quality that some may look for. Everything tasted just fine. Had tiramisu for dessert, above average compared to same dessert at other restaurants I've been to. Service was quick & friendly. They have some trays of prepared & frozen dishes available as well (e.g. lasagna, pastitsio). Very casual atmosphere, seems to get a lot of diners from surrounding neighborhoods (new people would enter and recognize already seated diners). Large window facing Connecticut Ave., with small patio between building and sidewalk. Given Purple Line development projects underway in the immediate area, it remains to be seen how long this restaurant and the building in which it is located will survive.
It was a wonderful experience because Manoli Canoli's people care for their guests and make delicious authentic food. They have Greek and Italian beers.
What a great find. We decided to look up, guess what, Italian Restaurants in Bethesda and low and behold this pops up. Give it a try, WOW. Great food, good wine choice, excellent presentation and spot on service. I would recommend this to anyone looking for fine food. It is unfortunate that the photos of the dishes are not uploadable here.
Good selection of delicious, well presented dishes. White pizza with grilled eggplant was perfect. Need a reservation for Saturday lunch- very busy. Layout is small tables in one open room with windows on one side so plenty of light - and not too noisy. Plenty of parking at the back. Service was fast and courteous. Has the buzz of people enjoying themselves.
We tried this restaurant for the first time last weekend based on the opentable reviews. What a great neighborhood restaurant. My wife had the chicken parmesan and the breaded chicken was the lightest we have ever had. The food is delicious and the service is great. The manager (owner?) actually thanked us for visiting and shook our hands. We will be back for sure.
Food presented well and delicious. Service superb. Allowed us to sit and talk as long as we wanted - perfect for a friends' get together.
we wen there as my brother who was visiting from Guatemala came for my daughter graduation, He wanted to invite us for the time we hosted him and my little one was choosing where to go, and I think she did a great job.
I have seen this place while driving on Connecticut Av. and was curious about it, finally we went and were very please, it is an small place that make you feel so comfortable and familiar.
Great neighborhood spot. Something for everyone. Super friendly staff.
We very much enjoyed our meal and our service at Manoli Canoli and so did our two grandchildren. I thought that their eggplant Parmesan was by far the best I have had in a long time. My husband and my granddaughter each ordered the eggplant and pasta dish which they both enjoyed and my grandson enjoyed his chicken acknowledged. I wish that they had warned us about how big their portions were as we could have shared several of those dishes. We did, however, end up taking some of each of our dishes home; enough for another family dinner for sure.
The only regret I have is that my Open Table points have not been honored an my reservation on line is still marked as pending even though I received an on-line confirmation of my reservation and the restaurant acknowledged that our reservation from Open Table was noted.
Made a reservation and was seated immediately. Staff was extremely nice. We enjoyed our meals.
What a great find. Very reasonable food, fast paced, energetic neighborhood find. The food is great and they have a nice selection of gluten free options.
As always food very good and the service was perfect
great food, friendly service, lots of choices and super family friendly. always pleases, doesn't disappoint. love this neighborhood spot-
We've driven by here a hundred times and never paid attention. It's a tiny place with old-school Italian and, more recently, Greek standards. The red gravy (aka marinara) is the real deal. The atmosphere is animated - would be noisier if it were bigger. Diners were happy. We saw numerous folks carrying out pizzas. And there's parking!
We went there for a special family event - and had a great time. The service was wonderful - and the food was great. It was well seasoned, ample, hot and not at all greasy. I very nice ambiance and plenty of parking. Great place.
Great food, generous portions, attentive service. Go hungry when in the mood for comfort food. Plenty of parking out back. Excellent value.
Wonderfully nice people and fresh tasty food. Family owned and run. Both Greek food and Italian food dishes were good.
If it’s possible for service to be too fast, this was it. Our server came to take our drink order a few minutes after we were seated. When we ordered our meal at the same time, we didn’t expect it would all be served at once. Our server came back about 5 minutes with our drinks and meals. The food was delicious as usual but we were done and on our way in 35 minutes. A bit fast for a Saturday night out.
