My wife and I went to Mannino's for Valentines Day and we loved it. The food and atmosphere was excellent. We are looking forward to dining there on a regular date night.

We ate here on Valentine's day and the food was very good except the portion size did not match the price charged. Soon after we were seated at a very narrow table we were joined by two other couples on either side of us making our dining experience very cramped and noisy. Our server took our order and seemed somewhat disappointed that we did not order any appetizers prior to our dishes coming to the table. She seemed to insist that we could split a salad which I deemed a bit pushy and after declining that offer, she left. The food arrived quickly after the order was taken. If you are looking for a place to have a nice quiet dinner I would not recommend this location however if you desire great Italian dishes and do not mind paying fine dining prices this is an ideal establishment.

Made reservations about two weeks ago on Open Table and requested a booth. Upon arrival I was informed that we were assigned a table for two. I explained to the hostess that I had requested a booth. She asked if I had made my reservation on the telephone. I explained that I had made it online through Open Table. She said that they did not always read the special requests on the online reservations. Although the food was good, the table was small. The glob of crud in the bottom of the wine carafe was the last straw. I will not be returning.

Went on Valentines Day. Tables were so close together you could not have a private conversation and could barely squeeze between if you had to get up. Not pleasant for the table next door.

Tables also were unsteady so you had to always worry about spilling a drink. Waitress tried to fix the tables with shims.

As usual food and service were great. To bad the ambience was poor.

We have been to Mannino's several times. This trip was interesting for a couple of reasons: (1) It was our anniversary so we splurged and Ubered there. I left my phone in the Uber car and had no way to call a friend with an Uber account. The wait staff was extremely accommodating and passed along calls from my daughter who was tracked down by the Uber driver. Our wait person Rachel, called a cab and upon learning they were not in our area, used her Lyft account to get us home. Fortunately, we had cash with which to reimburse her, but it was very sweet of her to let us do that.
(2) My husband had the special--blackened rockfish over risotto--fabulous! I had studied the menu ahead of time and ordered the Shrimp Francese--very disappointing. Fried shrimp sitting in a lemony broth (soggy) with, I swear, canned mushrooms. I know the difference. All in all, a night to remember. Special thanks again to Rachel.

Steamed clams with broth appetizer was delicious. We each had a pasta dish and they were large portions and very tasty. Waitress was pleasant but very busy.

Half full when I started dinner at 6:15 on a Friday night, fairly full when I left. The waitstaff was wonderful, attentive, friendly, love food. Moderately noisy once it filled up but not at all unpleasingly. Great wine list emphasizing Italian wine (which I love). Good caeser salad, although too many croutons and wish it had sardines. The potato gnocchi was lovely. The truffles with raspberry sauce were divine. Solid old world cooking, lots of fun, would go back.

The food here is delicious - always a go-to for a date, dinner with family, or dinner with friends. Service was a little slow, but we were enjoying the company of our family, so it didn’t bother us.

My husband and I received a gift card for Mannino's and went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Overall we really liked it. The service was great, attentive and friendly wait staff. We both got their crab soup which was delicious and loaded with crab. Being from Maryland, I have high standards when it comes to crab and the soup definitely met them. For entrees, I got veal saltimbocca which was flavorful and I highly recommend. It came with a side of penne pomodoro which was ok, something I would make at home with store bought pasta. It definitely wasn't home made pasta. My husband got the tortellini Mannino which was also really good. The complimentary bread had a nice crust and was soft on the inside-definitely home made.

This was our second visit and it was very nice. We were on our way to a Holiday party that wasn't going to serve a meal, so we decided to eat here beforehand.
Jessica, our server, was attentive without being in our face.
Our reservations were very early, so we had the place to ourselves for about half an hour.
The bar served my wife a cocktail she enjoyed very much and we both had delicious meals.

Food was good but service was appallingly slow for only three tables in use. She-Crab soup lived up to advertising - it’s delicious! However, simple orders like caprese salad and bruschetta took 45 minutes!!! I don’t recommend them if you’re in a hurry.

Service exceptional, food delicious, ambiance lovely; however, there was a group of people making so much noise that it could have been a child's ball pit instead of a high-end restaurant. Had a good deal of difficulty hearing each other because of the din. Sorry to say it was not a great experience for the rest of us. Wasn't my first time at Mannino's but could be my last. Plenty of restaurants in the area without the obnoxious behavior. Sorry guys, I know you have little control over this but you need an enclosed room for the crazies to land in so the majority of us can enjoy our meal.

We have been to several of the Mannino's locations and the Portsmouth is our favorite. We were there Saturday night and the restaurant was 80% full with a special of the night of Diver Scallops and Lobster, but I opted for my perennial favorite - Veal Picatta. Four large pieces of pounded thin veal were cooked perfectly in a delicious lemon-wine-butter sauce with plenty of capers to add to the flavor (picture below). My wife had the Tortellini Mannino, one of her favorites. She had enough to take home for another meal. We started off with generous sized salads (I had the Caesar and she had the Apple Gorgonzola). The Apple Gorgonzola had large amounts of Granny Smith Apple and Gorgonzola cheese and was delicious. The Caesar was very good with a homemade dressing (a little light) where the flavors were perfect.

This is one of the bets small chains in the area and worth a visit.

Family and friends dinner for my wife's birthday. The food was top notch! I made a reservation for 5, and about two hours before we were supposed to be there, I had to up it to 10, and they didn't skip a beat. Our server was fantastic and everything came out exactly as ordered, even the special orders and substitutions. An overall fantastic experience.

The server was very rude. Food was good but I really felt they could have done more. It was my birthday, which they knew. I brought a party of 6 people. The server was annoyed from the beginning. My sis in law ordered a dessert for me over the phone because she couldn't make and they forgot to bring it out to me. She didn't find out that I didn't get it until she asked about it. She then called back and spoke with the manager and their response "Oh yeah we forgot to take it out to her"...they then refunded her money. If I hadn't told her she would not have known. It was a lot of money spent this night and I was embarrassed that I picked this location. Normally I frequent the Salem location. I hate to bring race into it but the same server served a table of other people and she was fine and pleasant. It was just a rough experience. We won't be back.

Waiter left our bottle of wine on the table after we sampled it. The restaurant was a tad warm and we had white wine. We had to ask for a wine bucket. He seemed a little put out with us. Food was good but not worth the cost. I love the location but will go to the other restaurants in the area.
