Manning's Restaurant - Harrah's New Orleans Ratings and Reviews
When my party arrived at the restaurant we were told they didn't have enough staff to serve us. Wow! Why are you taking reservations? They managed to find a server and she did a decent job. The menu was limited, food was mediocre and it took a very long time. Skip this place and go somewhere else.
The manager, Kate, was outstanding and checked in at our table to ensure we had exceptional service and delicious food. Our server, Kate, was attentive to our needs, pleasant and very professional. We will ask for her in the future. The food was great! We really enjoyed the soft pretzel appetizer with melted cheese and creole mustard. I hope the pretzel will be a permanent addition to the menu.
Only down side was they ran out of 3 food items and it seemed every time we made another choice they were now out of that. It just didn't make sense to run out of so many staples like chicken, spinach dip, turkey, etc
Ironically it was very slow so I can imagine when they get busy what happens with food running out.
That being said the service was very good (you can't blame food running out on servers that's the kitchen managers fault for failing to order properly) and what food was served was hot and tasted good.
Had reservations and showed up 15 mins early to having to wait 20 after. On a date and we got seated next to the basketball game as well as being sat beside a table with small kids when in fact there where more than half the tables empty and dirty. So we sat near the bar and when we asked the bartenders if we could order they looked as if we had five heads. Finally after the manager seen and talked to us, was we able to order food. She apologized and had a waiter help us immediately. Food came and was good for bar food. My girlfriend then had to go to the rest room only to find it was disgusting and had no TP. If it not had been for the manager and waiter we most definitely would had left!
The food came out wrong after specifically ordered. The waitress did not come around to check up enough. The food took a long time to come out considering that everyone around had already finished eating. Not impressed with the service or the food. When told about the food being improperly fixed waitress just said sorry
Visiting New Orleans for the first time and celebrating my husbands birthday, we were very excited to eat at the Manning restaurant based on great reviews. Our waitress was initially very friendly and attentive. After we received our appetizer and drinks in a timely manner, our waitress "disappeared" for a while before returning to take the rest of our order.
25 minutes later our food came out (two Po Boy sandwiches). We felt like this was an extraordinary long time to wait for sandwiches especially since the rest of the restaurant had maybe 8 other people eating.
The bread on the sandwiches was so hard that when we attempted to pick the sandwhich up and bite it, everything fell out the bottom. Once again our waitress was no where to be found. The table next to us noted that they had not seen her either.
After "eating" we were very eager to pay our bill and leave.
Very disappointing first experience.
Service wasn't good. It was a Friday night and they didn't have entre I wanted. I ordered a salad with chicken on it instead. I had to cut the chicken into manageable bites. Then my salad was soggy. When they brought out fries they were cold. The server did notice I barely ate my food and made restitution by taking my salad off the ticket. We live in Colorado and wanted to try Peyton Manning's place but overall experience wasn't good!
Food was so so. The kitchen was extremely slow. Waited nearly a hour and a half for the chef's seafood special, a piece of blackened redfish. It was dry and not blackened hardly at all. The gumbo was good, along with the catfish fingers. Cesar salad was dry.
The two deserts were in contrast. Chocolate fudge Sunday was good, but the beignets were overcooked.
In all, it was so so. A lot better choices in the area.
Manning's fare was totally acceptable for a typical sports bar. Everything was good but nothing special. You can eat this type of food in any city in the USA. This is NOLA! The food in this city is amazing, special and unique. Go elsewhere unless you only eat burgers.
I have allergies which are very easy to deal with. I can't tolerate hot and spicy. Simple enough, just leave out the chili powder, jalapeños, etc and no fresh black pepper. I could have a lot of things because most of the food is prepped the day before and they had nothing in the back, except chicken wings, that wasn't already seasoned. That being said, it still took 3 tries to get fried chicken wings with no seasoning. When they were finally cooked where I could eat them, they were dry like straw. The waitress was all over us checking on how we were doing. The only time we didn't see her was when we asked for something. That part took 2-3 tries. All in all, the prices were fair, but I wouldn't go back.
The service was horrible. After waiting 2 hours for a table on a Thursday night, our waitress recognized and apologized for our wait (with 2 small children). However, after that, our waitress went missing. We had to track her down EVERY time we needed anything - to order food, for refills on water, to order drinks, to get our bill, to pay our bill, etc. Once we found her, she even told us she needed "a moment." A dinner that should have lasted an hour or 1.5 hours, took over 2 hours due to the poor service. We live in the neighborhood and frequent Manning's often; however, after this experience, we will not be visiting for awhile.
Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary. We had only been to Mannings once before and felt it would be special for us. Of course, it was. Last time wewere there you have two fish entrees. Was a little disappointed that this time there was only one. We both ordered the same thing and did enjoy it. Thanks for a Special Dining Experience.
We were just stopping in to eat and it turned out to be the same night as the first game of the world series. Even though most of the people in attendance were a little loud, it was expected...Hey, its Manning's. The service was very good and the food portions were huge! Walking around and seeing some of the memorabilia on the walls was pretty cool as well.
What a disappointment! Lack of character, food mediocre at best. Just another Sports Bar-nothing special, considering the implication that it's supposed, to represent the Mannings. Surprised that no memorabilia was offered, not even a special drink and glass. Do the Mannings even know or care that the reviews are bad?
