Took a group of ladies here for a Birthday Lunch. We sat out on the Patio which is covered and quite nice. Excellent service for a large group. I had the special Fish and Chips and they were very good. The only weird thing was if you ordered a salad and added Chicken or Shrimp, it came on the side. The Chicken was served as a whole boneless, skinless breast that you add to your salad as you want. The other thing I heard was the Dressing on the Wedge salad had way too much Dill. It was supposed to be Avocado, but all that was tasted way Dill. Other than that, I will go back and bring my husband. Looks like a very nice dinner menu.
We were told it was the most crowded it had been in 3 months. The service was very, very slow (i.e. took 25 minutes just to get a glass of ice water). The noise was horrible (we couldn't hear each other across the table). The atmosphere was OK - we were downstairs and it felt a little cramped. The food was fair to good. It was one of the nicest restaurants I could find on the web in Fairfield, CA but not one I would have otherwise picked. It was just close to where we played golf and shopped that day. I wouldn't recommend it unless it was a really slow night for them.
Arrived at 8:20 for our 8:30 pm reservation, greeted immediately at the door. We got seated very promptly. Server was great and funny. Food was very good. The ambiance was great. Highly recommended for a date or an anniversary or if you just want a higher quality dinning experience.
Always a wonderful time. Celebrating a couple birthdays with a leisurely meal. No pressure, great food preparation and excellent local wines.
Great food an environment. A little hard to hear the person you are with but overall a great atmosphere.
Great for a special event, maybe not a place to return to many times though.
The Meals on Wheels benefit was very nice. The wine with the main course was very good. The beef was tender and perfectly prepared. The service staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The bar staff seems a bit overwhelmed by the column. Perhaps more personnel was needed for this event. The dessert left a bit to be desired. Overall it was very nice and I plan to return and try other dishes.
This place was out of the way from the town; driving through vineyards. Great place eat after a leisure drive. They have an option for inside dining or outside patio. The weather was just right for eating outside during my visit. Unfortunately, there was an issue with my food and I had to send it back. They did correct it promptly but it dampen the excitement of finding this place.
Wine list local and overpriced. Food was excellent, and fairly priced.
I was a bit disappointed because I made reservation two weeks prior to our dinner. We ended up at a table right in front of the entrance door and right under the air conditioner vent. We froze, we even brought sweaters but it was still cold! Food was good and the evening would have been perfect if we had been seated at a better table.
The outdoor patio was the perfect place to eat a delicious meal and catch up with an old friend. Staff was friendly and attentive.
This was my first dining experience at Mankas Steakhouse. We arrived early and were welcomed to be seated or enjoy a drink at the bar. After having our drink, we decided to remain at the bar for our dinner because the service was excellent and our seats provided us with a good view of the open kitchen. The bartender offered suggestions when asked for our food and wine selections. The 3 courses we enjoyed were all very good and well presented. I will return!
The food doesn't live up to their pricing. I'll gladly pay for a great entrée, but the Filet and chicken we had were just ok. Mankas features only Suisun valley wines by the glass.
Service quick (some other reviewers found it slow) but had to ask for catsup and mustard for wife's burger, which was dry. Mushroom soup and shrimp with chorizo excellent. Pleasant atmosphere, although indoors has lots of sound reverberations.
Noted for its lobster bisque and roasted bone marrow, Manka's did not disappoint. Our lunch included the bisque, bone marrow and hamburgers. The bisque was presented with lobster pieces in individual bowls in which the server poured the rich and creamy soup over the lobster pieces. It was delicious, but could've had more lobster pieces . Bone marrow serving was generous: 3 large 6-inch length halved bones with a Parsley, Lemon, Caper salad & Crostini. Very tasty. The Steakhouse hamburger's ground beef tasted fresh; bun was fresh but ordinary. Pomme frites were overly salty. Service was slow because one server was waiting on all tables, inside and outside. Nice decor but noise level very high with hardwood floors and opened ceiling. Outdoor dining found to be very noisy with large vehicle noises since restaurant is on a busy rural corner. Overall, delicious food and a solid base meal to enjoy before wine tasting at Fezer Tasting Room.
Another wonderful evening at Mankas sitting outside listening to great music, being served by great servers eating fabulous food! It never disappoints! Thank you Tim and Peter for the AWESOME job that you do!!!
We enjoyed a special anniversary dinner for our first visit to Mankas Steakhouse. Andrea, our server, was attentive and fun. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I thought the balsamic balls on the tomato salad was quite unique! Our only criticism is that they shouldn't rely solely on the local vineyards for the wine by the glass menu, perhaps reaching further into the Napa region.....
service was not that great. Had to get the attention of the server many times. Also be aware of the bugs and FLYS when your eating outside. Food was great though!
We always enjoy dining here, great food, great service, great ambiance. the only down side to our dining experience was that our table cloth had holes in it and our napkins seemed clean but had stains of blue & green color ??. all of us asked for new napkins.
For a upscale white linen restaurant this is unacceptable.
The food is good but it is pricey. The filet was 49 dollars and the portions were relatively small.
Neat find in the middle of nowhere :). Ambiance was nice and the guitar player was wonderful. Actually discovered this place on the guitarist's website hoping to catch him playing close to home. Food took extremely long to come out and service was lacking. Butter cheese pasta was not edible as it was drowning in at least 1/4 cup of butter. House salad was great as well as the sweet potato fries and bread for their burger. Rack of lamb was good when it finally came out. I would try Mankas again and have already recommended to family.
Great filet mignon!
Small portions (should of got the bigger cut).
Bad musicians first/ok musicians later. Mostly country.
The food was good however the wait time to receive drinks/food was relatively long.
The food was great, but a little loud. I mentioned it was my wife's 30th birthday in the reservation, and there was no acknowledgement at all.
Great food and great service. The outdoors dining worked since they put a fan outside.
Food was very good. Waiter staff was poor. They were very slow with bringing bread and water. Received steak knife after I had finished my filet. Apparent disinterest in service and attitude. Took food plates away too soon. Never purged the wine from the bottle we purchased. Uninformed about certain menu items.
Poor Wine List. Service SLOW. Food very good. Too noisy in bar area, but dining room great.
Would definitely return on special occasions. I wish they have tasting menu!
The atmosphere was rustic and comfortably elegant.
Wait staff was very capable and sweet... but distracted. Not sure why:(
Food was great! Pastrami was thin sliced and lean with a well balanced sour krout on the sandwich. Baby back ribs were tender and flavorful. Sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Mac n cheese perfectly cheesy with small chunks of thick cut bacon which added great flavor. Salad was incredibly fresh! We laughed and ate and had a fantastic Father's Day! Thank you!
Great service! Delicious lobster bisquet. However, please note that this place does not offer Sunday brunch.
Seven of us went for an early dinner for my daughter's birthday. She is 21. There was an extremely loud party at the venue next door, and we were lucky we didn't hear it when we went to our indoor seats. Food was lovely. We had appetizers, and then our entrees: petite filet, eggplant, salmon, copia, and rib eye. We had wine, but no coffee. Service was ok; someone was in training. We were there for two and a half hours. I gave a lower rating because of that. This is a perfect place for a leisurely dinner when there is no event next door. Noise and parking are deterrents.
Hoping for a local spot in Fairfield, not a chain - happy to have found Mankas - met for a weekend lunch on patio. Exceptional, professional service, great food, lovely relaxed ambience. GO!
We love Mankas! We come for the life music and friendly people. The service and food is always excellent and it's a rare treat to be able to bring your own bottle of local wine - Keep up the great work Mankas!
I had read lots of great reviews on yelp before booking for a party of 10. I was visiting from southern California for a graduation and so was unfamiliar with the area. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow (our bread basket didn't arrive until after our entrees) and the food turned out to be just good, not great. The best things were the sweet potato fries. Not worth the long wait. Given the rave reviews, we may have been there on an off day; I'll hope so.
A group of us went to have lunch before going to a Art show. We loved our food, enjoyed our wine and visited but when it was time to receive the check, our waitress offered some dessert. Fifteen minutes later, she brought the menu and the another ten to check to see that we did not want anything. Then it took another fifteen minutes to receive our check. We felt this took too long.
We had an amazing meal and the service was excellent . Mankas Steakhouse is my new favorite restaurant. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I LOVE Manka's...it never fails on delicious food, superb cocktails by our favorite bartender Ben and our Italian Server that gives the best service and greetings EVER. Always feel welcomed and special at Manka's.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food with menu options that are sure to please everyone. Charming ambiance and you feel like you're suddenly in a quaint village in France. A few mins off hwy 80 and a refreshing change from the otherwise fast food mecca in the Cordelia/Fairfield area. Good wine list.
Mac and cheese and lobster bisque are standouts.
Very good food, service and ambience! I will definitely dine here again. We tried the spicey shrimp and lobster mac/cheese for starters - perfect! My guests had the burgers, and I had the rib eye - cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Our party of 3 had a cross section of beef, poultry, and seafood. All were prepared with care both visually but more importantly from a taste and freshness standpoint. Portions are small, which is a good thing in my book. Quantity usually means the quality suffers. The atmosphere is nice without being pretentious or formal. A great place to dine after tasting in the Suisun Valley wineries nearby.
Reservations acknowledged quickly; service excellent; menu too limited
