We didn't eat there. The restaurant had closed several weeks before. Please remove from your darabase
This restaurant closed 6 weeks ago and no one called to let us know. Arrived there to our surprise. I wish someone would have called vet upsetting!!
We made our reservation to Manifesto 2 months in advance for a special occasion. We show up to the restaurant only to find that it is permanently closed leaving us scrambling for another option. Would have been nice to know before we got all the way there!
It was closed. Please remove from open table.
Upon arriving, we found that this restaurant was permanently closed. So it was an extreme disappointment on a night that we paid for a babysitter. We had no warning that the restaurant was closed.
We dined during happy hour on a Friday night, and didn't need our reservation. Great location downtown, close to the Ohio Theatre, and within walking distance to the Southern Theatre. The food/appetizers were very good (bruschetta rocks). Some confusion on the part of our server - or the management - about what constitutes 'half-price drinks and small plate discounts' We had to send the bill back three times, but our server was excellent otherwise. Fun place!
Great happy hour margaritas. Wish you had a happy hour menu with nibbles! Great for after work or before an event at the Ohio Theatre.
Perefect location to theater, good eservice, food and wine list.
Great Place to dine before a show! Now will go when we just want great service & terrific eats! Big Surprise! Don't let the Scotch Bar scare you.
Great atmosphere. Always great food. Lobster Bisque is delicious.
We did have a very good lunch, but it was oddly quiet at lunchtime - so maybe not the busiest time for the restaurant.
Great location for a bite before a show at Ohio Theatre. Server did not get off to a great start by bringing a cup of cold coffee to the table. He redeemed himself and provided adequate service. The food was hit and miss. The crab cakes and ravioli were good but were room temperature.. I had ordered the minestrone soup which was also luke warm and had no minestrone. The waiter took it back and it was then served with a rigatoni noodle. It was so bland it was not edible. The ambiance was pleasant enough that we would stop in for a drink but we will not be back for dinner.
My family had lunch at Manifesto on a Sunday before seeing a play at Ohio Theatre. The restaurant was quiet, intricately decorated, and very convenient. The service was excellent, and food was great. Most of us had a flatbread, and the fig/honey option was the favorite. We had our grandparents with us, and although the bathrooms were upstairs; they had an elevator nearby for them to utilize. The best surprise was that the food and beverages were reasonably priced. I would definitely go back to Manifesto!
We shared the Tuscan Bruschetta and it was very good. I had the Braised Scatch Short, it was short ribs and cheese tortellini with mushrooms. It was delicious. I would go back just for this dish.
Visited before performance at The Palace Theatre. Service started out slow, but improved once waiter noticed we hadn't been waited on. They were very busy due to many having dinner before theatre. As such it was very noisy especially since we were seated near the bar. They definitely have a very active bar scene. Food was very good. Would visit again.
We had reservations for 16 made over a week before our lunch. At time of arrival, we told waiter we had to be back at meeting in one hour. At 45 minutes and no food, we said we would need food to go. After an hour we do not have food! To go containers with food delivered 3 at s time with no silver or napkins. Had to ask for plastic ware. No napkins or spoons for soup provided. Only one waiter for a large group.
I enjoyed the scotch flight-- a lowland, highland speyside and isle-- all fantastic!
The biggest draw here for me is the scotch and whiskey selection. They let you make your own flights and there are tons of options to choose from. The wine list and signature cocktail list was fairly well rounded too.
The food was decent, but nothing spectacular. My date and I tried the fig flatbread which was actually very good. We both enjoyed that immensely. We ended up ordering sandwiches as our mains and those left a little to be desired, just not a lot of flavor going on. The pesto pasta on the side was a nice change from the standard fries you see most places.
I would come back here for a drink and appetizers, but if I'm looking for a full meal I would probably end up somewhere else.
We went to Manifesto because it is close and convenient to the Ohio Theater and have
had good meals there in the past. However, this time service was slow and my
food was not what I ordered so it had to be sent back. Prices seemed a bit
high for sandwiches. I don't think we will return.
My husband loved the lobster ravioli and his scotch. My chicken parmesian was over cooked on one side and was extremely dark brown compared to the other side. Pasta started out good but then I found a lot of stuck together parts. The strawberry creme brulee desert was outstanding.
We went before a show at the Ohio Theatre and had a bad experience. Our food took so long we had to cancel the order. However, when we returned after the show the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us . Matt, our server, recognized us, the chef came out to personally apologize and comped a new dessert. I was there before and had a wonderful experience so I have no qualms about recommending this restaurant - especially the house Old-Fashioned!
We love the atmosphere and the customer service, as well as the selection of scotches and other liquors.
However, I had the short ribs with tortellini; there was almost no meat in it, and when I found a piece I had to pull all the fat off it, resulting a tiny bite of meat. Most of the beef in the dish was fat and the silver skin from the short ribs. The only edible part of the meal was the tortellini.
The other diners food was acceptable, but nothing outstanding as it had been in the past.
I would recommend for drinks.
Overall experience "Good" Parking horrid!! That in itself would keep me from returning. No Valet
First time here and won't be the last The crabcakes were awesome and we had the bruscetta. Also good
Food was awesome and the service during lunch was good. We were seated quickly.
We had early reservations before theater time and since the show was not at the next door theater the place was quite empty. We had a nice booth and then a large party, one that appeared to be a co defense or work related "working" dinner was seated next to us, taking up multiple tables AND the one server on for the evening. After that we were never asked about a second beverage and the server had zero time to explain about the food, sharing the tapas, etc. Hoping this was simply an off night, but not sure we will take a chance on it again. Beautiful restaurant. Excellent decor. Too bad.
Past visits to Manifesto had very slow service, but this was different. The service has improved and was not slow this visit. Food and wine list are excellent.
Great place for late night dining. Loved the food and ambience.
Went before a show at Ohio Theater. Interesting mix of food. Not all Italian as posted. Good wine selection if you don't like scotch
My experience at the bar was great-quick service and my blueberry basil smash was fantastic. Dinner was amazing as well-the cheese board and bruschetta was divine. My husband had the scallops entree and I had the chefs special fettuccini. Everything was amazing!!
Easy to get to. The decor was interesting, with an overall warmth. Service was friendly and prompt. The food was very fine quality. Not cheap, but not overpriced. Would certainly dine there again.
The location of this place is its real attraction: right next door to the Ohio Theater. I admit the "scotch bar" in the name drew me in with the promise of trying new distilleries from afar! They do have a nice mix of UK scotches, all desperately overpriced, sadly. I can't see paying $10-15 for a shot and much, much more for the more aged varieties. I'm well-acquainted with what they cost per bottle. Fortunately, we arrived in time for happy hour, when they're half price.
The food is less interesting. The tomato fondue we chose for an appetizer was really just a tomato cream sauce with garlic bread to dip. It was bland and had an odd chunk of unmelted cheese in it. We also had the fig and brie flatbread, which was nice, but the crust would have been nicer with a little more toastiness. I took leftovers home and it was better after a run through the toaster oven. My husband liked his entree salad. The entrees were pretty much all fairly unimaginative hunks of meat with various sides. We tried the panna cotta for dessert, which was butterscotch flavor and straight-from-the-fridge cold with a thick skin on top that was hard to push through and a liquid at the bottom. I couldn't tell if the liquid was meant to be there or if the pudding was separating. It at least had a good flavor.
Our server was attentive enough and things came in a timely fashion but he seemed awkward and passed up many opportunities to remove used dishware or offer drinks.
My recommendation: if you'd like to drink, definitely go at happy hour, perhaps have a small plate and go elsewhere for your main meal.
We had all had great meals. And their scotch selection is the best I have seen in the area. And all with great service.
Manifesto is a great spot for an after work gathering, a night out with friends, or even to enjoy the intimate atmosphere with a special person. Our group of 8 for a late lunch/early dinner outing really enjoyed Manifesto. It was a Thursday and the time of day was great that we were about the only patrons, so service was very prompt. Our desserts of tiramisu and chocolate cheesecake were wonderful!
Loved the interior of the place - unique and beautiful, low lighting. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. It was almost empty when we were there - after we ate I knew why. The tuna tartare was terrible - couldn't tell if the fish was fresh because it was ridiculously overspiced. The menu was very very limited which might have been ok except that they were completely out of flatbread - which comprised about 1/3 of the menu. My son's girlfriend ordered the bruschetta instead and it was TERRIBLE - tasted like bland ricotta on toast with flavorless tomatoes. So bad that we stopped at Taco Bell on the way home-seriously!
My friends and I were all going to Columbus to celebrate my birthday. Being that it was Valentine's Day weekend, the options for reservations were pretty limited. I went to open table and submitted the number of people in our party (10), and Manifesto fit our dining time, so we decided to try it out!
First off, the dining atmosphere was great! When we arrived we were taken to a party room where our table was set up and ready to go. We also were able to control the Bluetooth speaker, a very big plus for our group. Our servers (also not bad to look at) introduced themselves and promptly brought us drinks. The drinks were strong, and tasty!
When it came to food, most of our group ordered flatbreads. Which were all wonderful! They were warm, and the toppings were great.
Would definitely recommend this location for a group outing, or if you are looking for a place with an awesome drink menu. Thanks for an awesome birthday celebration!
We the valentine's day special. Steak and sea bass. Both great
Went with my wife on a Friday night on Valentine weekend. Our seat was tucked in front corner next to host stand - too close for comfort. Drinks before dinner were fine but expensive . Menu for entrees was small but they do have several small shareable items. Steak was chewy and luke warm. For $35 dollars, I was very disappointed . Wife's scallop dish also lukewarm & not seared well. $135 dinner was way too expensive for what you get . Average at best . I won't be returning. We'll stick with J. Gilberts.
As usual, the food was excellent and the service attentive without being overbearing. Our request for a quiet, private table was granted and allowed us to have a private conversation with dinner that was undisturbed by nearby diners. On quiet evenings when there is not a performance at the nearby Ohio Theater, this is a great spot to dine.
If you ever go here, request to find on the first floor.
