Good . Food and service was great.
We love dining here. The food is always amazing. The menu is huge and food always consistent in quality and value. Portions are huge. The place has a great bakery too.
This is not a fancy-schmancy restaurant; it's a deli, and as close to a real (that is, big city) deli as you can find in the Coachella Valley. The food is always good, and it is what the menu says it is. I went with a group of 11 and waitstaff had no problem accommodating us. Service was friendly and quickly corrected a few little bobbles that are bound to happen with 11 orders. Waitstaff here are the kind of people you know by name. Desserts are huge--take one home (carrot cake or German chocolate cake, or New York cheesecake).
Two families with 5 children. Could not have been more impressed with the service and level of attention the waiter provided our table. It was very busy, and he gave us a lot of his time to be sure we were well looked after. Would highly recommend for families and children. Food was great for adults and children alike. Portions are huge!
Upon arrival we were taken to a table in the very back corner near the fire exit and stacked high chairs. Dismal place to be seated especially since I had made a reservation 2 or 3 days earlier. There was no way either of us coming have stayed in that location I immediately asked for one of the three open booths near the window. We were reseated. Our waitress was excellent! Her name was something similar to fabulous. I have been to this location previously & also Palm Desert and always have had delicious meals so was disappointed with the food this time. Although the French Dip came with au jus the meat was very dry. My friend’s sandwich was also dry. We each only ate 1/2 our meal & took the rest home. I thought perhaps I could do something to increase the flavor but I ended up tossing it out. When I spoke to my friend today she also ended up not eating hers.
All in all, very disappointing.
Food was excellent as was the service.
Will return soon
Great variety of tasty menu selections and friendly, profession wait staff.
Good food, large portions, and one of the best selections of deserts in Palm Springs make Manhattan a go to place for a moderately priced meal. Service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend the chicken soup!!!
Immense selection of original deli food. Hot pastrami on rye was excellent
All good, except one meal came out very late. Server comped that meal and offered a free dessert!
We look forward to dining at the Manhatten whever we are in the desert.
Excellent as always. Tasty food, substantial portions. Helpful service.
Truly a taste of New York. The only thing missing was the bowl of pickles on the table.
We are snowbirds and love Manhattan and drive from La Quinta to go there. They have great pizza as well as many other food options. The Palm Desert location is closer but we went there and they didn't have a pizza oven, so could not order the pizza. Everything we have tried is excellent and moderately priced, and the service is always good. This occasion was an 80th birthday celebration for a friend, and Armondo was an excellent server, bringing a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl. We recommend Manhattan in the Desert to all.
We are 4 sisters coming from out of town for a weekend together. The food was great and our waiter was FANTASTIC!!! Just a wonderful experience
Diner style restaurant with average food served in abundant portions. Nothing to write home about.
Amazing! Monte Cristo sandwich, Carrot Cake French Toast! Delicious food, excellent service 1!
Did not really honor our reservation for brunch. forgot numerous order items. No efforts to make amends, no regrets. Try Shermans instead.
Great experience server was wonderful.
So far my favorite deli style restaurant! The food was delicious, the portions were huge. We went for dinner on a Friday night and came back for breakfast on a Sunday. We can't wait to go back. Everything is fresh and home made and the menu is like a book! so much to choose from. You must eat here and bring your friends!
Manhattan in the Deli is a comfortable “go-to” place for delicious food in a friendly and casual atmosphere with very professional servers. We are always delighted to dine there!
Great service. Bathrooms smell bad and it carries into dining room.
Excellent dinner at about $16
Very generous portions for two courses
Service is very friendly but sometimes they forget about what you’ve requested
Mediocre food and friendly but infrequent service make this place not worth a second visit.
Extensive menu, literally something for every appetite. Generous portions. We had a very satisfying “comfort food” dinner. Atmosphere was not hectic, which was a welcome interlude in the busy holiday week.
Manhattan in the Desert continues to be the best deli in the area. Authentic flavors and brilliant service are their hallmarks. With a loyal following of locals and attracting tourists, alike, their "warm and friendly atmosphere," with no crowding or rushing, ensures that Manhattan in the Desert will be a favorite for a very long time.
Great comfort food, great service, they just need a fuller bar...
It seemed our server was over worked that day, we were basically ignored and had to ask others for help, usually it is a better experience
Superb genuine deli food
Best for lunch, huge portions. Breakfast food is not their strong point (Shermans has them beat many times over for breakfast).
Never had dinner there.
Don’t miss the cheesecake!
Great food, Liz was a wonderful waitress. Great menu and Liz was very patient and did a great job explaining the great items we ordered
Manhattan in the Desert is a wonderful “go-to” place for Deli-style food and many other options. Having been to every deli restaurant in the area, Manhattan in the Deli remains our favorite. Huge portions! Service is always warm, friendly, and professional.
Getting too expensive
We ordered a beef dip, and a Reuben sandwich. Both of us had terrible stomach problems the next day . These are sandwiches we order often when out for a causal meal. Can only assume this restaurant uses a lot of MSG .
This is a true oasis: variety and service with scrumptious breakfast options. A terrific diner without the low-rent ambience (or the annoying noise level) of a New York experience. And the pastry options at the checkout counter are tempting enough to seduce even the most steadfast dieters!
The food is just average —I have eaten there several times —and over priced. Service is good.
Very fast service. We had a movie to get to and the waitress was right on it.
I showed up for my reservation and they didn't have ti in the books so didn't get credit. Even though I had a confirmation and you sen me this review request.
Long line up when we arrived. Thank goodness for Opentable!
Our server was great, the food was great, the menu was huge! There’s something for everyone here.
