MangoSeed Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I'm not even lying when I say that this experience was the best meal I've ever had in my life. The food was so delicious and totally worth the travel. The space was not necessarily what I expected. I expected it to be a little fancier. I also expected air conditioning, which I did not get LOL. But honestly I would have dealt with the hottest day of the year and no fans in the ceiling just to eat this food. The service was great there's a backyard if you want to cool down, the drinks were great, and the meals although a little pricey are totally worth the amount they cost. My boyfriend wanted to cry that's how good the food was. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who's willing to drive out to Flatbush and have a brand new experience.
Had a great time coming to MangoSeed this past weekend. Once arriving, we were immediately seated by the waitress. We then ordered drinks and food, which did take awhile to be made, but once given to us, tasted very good. There was music playing over the system but not too loud that I couldn't have a conversation. Will try to go back again for brunch.
Our server was very attentive and polite. We didn't wait too long for a table maybe 15minutes tops. It's a small space but has alot of charm. I was leery when we drove up to it because of the location but was pleasantly surprised nonetheless. We started out with the fish tacos which was AMAZING! just the right amount of spice. The trio Mac was delicious as well. I had the jerk salmon pasta which was tasty but the pasta could have used a little more flavor for me. My boyfriend had the burger and fries and he wasn't pleased. I tasted the burger and though....Meh. nothing to write home about. The vibes overall was good and the music was at just the right level for you to hear, but also hear the person sitting across from you. If I'm ever in the area I'd come back I wouldn't go out my way to come from Queens to here.
Mangoseed was referred by a friend, who boast about the oxtail. Personally I make better oxtails. It wasnt horrible by no means but was light on flavor. Its small, dimly light (which was fine), the staff was very, professional, friendly & courteous. My sugarcane lemonade was nice. Not sure i would go back again. Over priced for such small portions.
We had the salmon tacos, mac and cheese, and the bacon burger- all delicious.
Drinks were bland and watery. They were not worth the $5/$6. The sangrias however, were refreshing.
The wait staff was not very accommodating as far as seating preferences and food options. The staff setting up the tables were also unprofessional. It's saddening as this place has so much potential.
I made this Reservation, standing in front of the bar and the worker totally looked passed us and seated the couple behind. Apologized by seating outside in a special seat as if she was doing us a favor. For some reason the food was off, too cold for fresh cooked food. Only food with steam th e macaroni and cheese. They need to pay more attention to minute details or this gem would be lost.
Even with the selections limited to Mother's Day limited menu, we still needed to make up or mine.
The portions were very well sized, the flavors good and presentation was eye catching. Don't be fooled by the quaint appearance this place delivers on taste on scale with the big boys.
My boyfriend and I stumbled across this Jamaican spot not too long ago. Food was tasty, service was quick. It was quaint and small, so wouldn't recommend for a larger group, but a night out with your significant other, or one or two friends, is fine. Only downside is the options are limited, but I guess that contributes to the service being expeditious.
I ordered the oxtail and Parmesan grits. It was the best oxtail and grits I've ever had in my life. Never thought of having those two together but glad Mangoseed had the option. I have to go back and see what else is mouth-wateringly delicious. The music was freaking amazing! They played throwback songs I haven't heard in years that were dope songs back in the day! My friend and wanted to get up and dance while we were eating!!!
