Tucked into the center of Atlanta, Mangos Caribbean Restaurant offers diners a wonderful spot to savor authentic Caribbean cuisine in a cheerful and welcoming setting. The menu at Mangos Caribbean Restaurant reads straight out of the islands, with lunch and dinner specials emphasizing classic dishes.
Seafood is a major player among the entrees with red snapper, kingfish and tilapia all big favorites. Of course, there are such iconic dishes as curry goat, ackee and salt fish, and a range of jerk dishes. Plenty of fresh salads, vegetarian options and pasta dishes are available, but all with that Caribbean flair. Of course, no meal at Mangos Caribbean Restaurant is complete without an authentic dessert, and the mango cheesecake and bread pudding are two popular options.
The number one thing about Mangos is the great food. The service was typical of a slow-paced carribean restaurant. There was one waitress working both the take-out and dine-in, but she told us how long it would take when we ordered so we were prepared. The wait time to be served and to get our food was actually not that long, and certainly worth it for the great food. Mangos is clearly just a start-up, so I hope they continue to get more customers so they can grow and thrive. Auburn Avenue needs this restaurant, so I will definitely go as often as I can.
