   Mangiamo was my husband's favorite restaurant for nearly 40 years. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, plain old Saturday nights were often spent there. So when the family recently gathered to celebrate a life well-lived, that's where we went. The food, the service, the ambiance were as fabulous as ever, but the warmth and kindness they shared made me love this neighborhood favorite even more. Thank you from all of us. xo

   I come here every time I’m in LA. This time I came straight from the airport with my small suitcase, and the manager immediately took it for me and put it in the back. The food is fantastic- regardless of what I order- and the service is impeccable. I wish they were in my home town.

   After living in Manhattan Beach for 14 years we finally tried this longtime neighborhood gem (40 years old), First, the space is very comfortable, cozy, newer but classic. It’s not loud so it’s easy to carryon a conversation. We had beef carpaccio and the house salad to start, both were excellent. For our main courses we had the potato crusted halibut, and the frutti de mare w/ linguine. Both were delicious and came out of the kitchen hot! The service was attentive, and the meal felt relaxed. At the end of the meal we had a nice conversation with the manager Frank, who started with their sister restaurant Talia (since closed) when he was 18, and now 40+ years later is the man in charge. This isn’t the normal trendy LA eatery, it feels old school, which is different. In a good way!

    Mangiamo Italian Restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. The decor is elegant yet cozy, creating a perfect atmosphere for any occasion. The food is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is crafted with care and bursting with authentic Italian flavors. From the freshly made pasta to the delectable tiramisu, each bite is a testament to the chef's dedication and skill. The service is impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who go out of their way to ensure a memorable meal. However, I do wish they used wild salmon instead of farm-raised. While the current salmon dish is well-prepared and tasty, the use of wild salmon would elevate it to an even higher level of quality. Overall, Mangiamo is a must-visit for anyone who loves Italian cuisine. Despite the minor salmon quibble, the exceptional food, outstanding service, and charming ambiance make it a standout choice.
