   What a lovely surprise to find this restaurant! We were visiting in the area & in the mood for Italian food, reviews were glowing so we decided to try it. Staff, food drink, ambience were great! Esp. loved the vesper martini & house-made limoncello after-dinner drink - delicious! We now have a new favorite “go to” spot during future visits!

   Celebrated Mother’s Day and a 75th birthday with a party of 13, split on 2 reservations of 6 people and 7 people. Had reservations as the restaurant opened at 4pm. The split us between the front room — which had at least 3 other tables large enough to accommodate our party — and the back room dungeon. There’s no reason the manager couldn’t accommodate us in the same room. Every time we come here, we’ve been seated in the back. Business meeting lunch or social dinner. As part of the group dining in front, we noticed very, very few people of color. Got it — we won’t be back! Not in 2023 and in a diverse city — we got the message loud and clear. Unfortunate!

   our first time at Mangiama. Was referred by a local and it was even better than expected. We had an anniversary dinner in the wine cellar room. Food was excellent, service was attentive but gave us space to enjoy the room. Had the shrimp risotto and loved it. Staff was friendly and great service Will return!

    Although this has been around a long time, we had never been. The food was really good and we will go back. I think it does cater to an older crowd from what I saw, and which includes us and maybe that was different when there was allowed outdoor seating (we hope it returns) but we really did enjoy the dinner and drinks and service was very good.

    Janice who served us was AMAZING! Great cosy atmosphere. The FOOD was divine! A group of 5 hungry boys! Meatballs and special soup of the day along with Halibut, Veal, Vodka Pasta were amongst the dishes along with great red wine from the nappa! We are from Australia and we come back here everytime we are in LA

    The prices were a bit high, but we are in Manhattan Beach so that didn't surprise me. The food was amazing and so was our service. The noise level, however, was so loud. We could hardly talk because it was so loud in there.

    We always have a great time at Mangiamo’s. Weight staff is friendly food is excellent. Service is always prompt. One friend of ours who comes from big Italian family absolutely loves their carbonara. I was disappointed that their cioppino is no longer on the menu, but I had their linguine frutti di Mare Last night and it was excellent

    They went above and beyond and am super happy overall with them. Wasn't our first trip here and they have always had great food and service, but wanted to say a special thank you to them for this visit. We originally had a reservation at 7:30 for just two, but had a meeting run late and changed it to 8 and a party of 4. We still ended up being late and they called to check in and make sure we were still coming and we reconfirmed and they kept the kitchen open late for us. It was just a nice gesture that they didn't have to do. We then stayed a little late and not once did they make us feel rushed. It was customer service at its best. For the food we ordered the caccio pepe as a table app which was great. Ordered the beet salad and the heirloom tomato salad and both were fantastic. I ordered the sausage pasta and it was fantastic. Overall just such a perfect dinner. The others loved their dinners too.

    Food is delicious and drinks are oddly well priced for the quality. Service is great. The decor is upscale but the music is not at all suited for the price level and ambiance. I was expecting jazz or classic Italian, something to really set the ambiance but instead it sounded like it was on Maroon 5 radio the whole time which was disappointing.     Mangiamo is a good go-to Italian in downtown Manhattan Beach. We made a reservation but were placed in the last table in the dungeon/grotto. Bummer as we walked past other nicer tables. My son had the sausage pasta and said it was delicious.

    Unfortunately, our party did not have a good experience at Mangiamo. We started with the dinner rolls which were decent. However, from there everything went downhill. We ordered their salad special because the waiter described it as having endives. But when the salad came, there was only one single endive leaf (not joking) - ONLY ONE! So I talked to our waiter and he brought us a very small portion of chopped endives… to be fair though, the flavor of the salad was delicious. Next we got our entrees: -12oz New York steak which had about 4oz of tough tendon/membrane. -chicken Parmesan with a flavorless Alfredo sauce (how can an Italian restaurant not make a good chicken Farm??). It tasted as if the fettuccine was cooked in heavy cream. Thankfully the chicken part was good. - pasta with vodka sauce, I can’t even with this one. This was the most watery (not creamy) vodka sauce ever. And the sauce itself was mixed with large pieces of sliced onions🤷🏻‍♀️ They need to use finely chopped onions. - king salmon with asparagus risotto. To give Mangiamo some credit, this was a well cooked risotto that was perfectly al dente. Salmon was very tender and flavorful. My only complaint is that there were some end pieces of asparagus which were tough to chew so I had to spit them out. Please trim your asparagus I wish our experience was as good as others who have dined there before. Sadly we won’t be going back to Mangiamo anymore.

    This is not Italian Cuisine Very disappointing ...mediocre like the Olive garden chain at exclusive prices.... Rafined Decor and impeccable service make it for half the price How in the world can you have rubbery and boring Calamari in a high end Italian Restaurant

    The food and wine and service were excellent! It was clean and comfortable with white table clothes and napkins. My only critique if I had to have one, was that the tables were really close together. I was literally only about 6 inches from the next table. I would go back in a heartbeat!

    Their talented chef runs the kitchen beautifully! Each dish for our table was perfectly prepared. The use of garlic in the veal picatta was amazingly well done! It gently open up on the palate. It wasn't over done like so many other restaurants are known to do. I'm excited to visit again and bring different friends!

    It was loud at the dining area so we moved to the bar seats. We ordered the calamari and the trout ( special of the day) Both dishes were disappointing. I ate better there in the past, not sure what happened. Drinks and service were excellent.

    Food was very good and servers were considerate and very nice. Seating was very tight which increased noise and created many “excuse me” scenarios as servers were coming to and from the neighboring tables, which added distraction. But did not take away from the overall ambience. Enjoy this restaurant and it is a great destination for a date night.

    Mangiamo always ranks high in my book. They have wonderful appetizers and a great bar/appetizer scene. Last night though we had dinner in the dining room. We started with calamari, my wife had the chicken parmigiana, and our friend had the pasta with pancetta. I had the linguini frutti di mare. All were excellent. I had forgotten how good the frutti di mare was, since I have many other favorites on the menu, but it was so good, it may become my ‘go to’ choice. Our server was excellent and other than a large loud party near us, the evening couldn’t have been better. Ron Guidone has been serving wonderful Italian food at this location for nearly 40 years. He has not lost his touch.

    Hadn’t been to Mangiamo’s in a while and was pleasantly surprised by how fabulous the food and service were. Ifs a MB classic for a reason. Best Caesar salad in town, calamari blew our socks off and the veal (and eggplant) parm was to die for. I’ll be back again soon. Fabulous!!

    Was given a stuffy table and when asked could we move to an open table we were told no that the table was being used for a party of 3 or 4. We were there almost 2 Hours and NO zone was given that table. Restaurant was out of some foods and what I got was cold. I have frequented this restaurant many times. This was bad.     Bright and happening place. Nice wine list. Food was mediocre. Bland pasta and “mislabeled” butternut soup. It was a corn chowder with no flavor other than fros corn. Disappointing food.
