Mangia Qui Italian Bistro
If you can’t hop a plane to dine at a trattoria in Italy, the next best place is right here. We truly believe we’ve created something with this restaurant that you can’t get anywhere else in the area. From the pride we take in our kitchen preparing fresh to order authentic dishes like homemade lasagna and tiramisu, to our dedicated wait staff providing friendly and personalized service.
homemade tomato sauce, chunky marinara or roasted garlic alfredo
Hand-tossed flatbread, fresh rosemary and oregano, parmesan, roasted garlic infused EVOO, basil
Always have a wonderful meal here. Food, service and experience is super. Austin always suggests the perfect wine!
My wife and I have been here several times now and have never been disappointed with our food or the service. Always something new on the specials board, and the food always taste like it was made from ingredients that were just freshly harvested. Will be back again as this is our favorite Italian place in the area.
The veal Marsala and chicken Francois were well done; wine selection is good and they are knowledgeable
This is our local restaurant and we go there often. The service is always great ae food is always outstanding. From pasta to veal to pizza, this restaurant is worth the visit. Thank you Mangia Qui !!
The space is super-clean and very well set up for social distancing. I feel completely safe dining here! The food is ALWAYS incredible, and my indulgent glass of wine, recommended by our waiter, was perfect. I might have also indulged in dessert, the Spumoni Bomba, and it proved to be the perfect ending to another wonderful meal. I won’t go to just any restaurant during the pandemic, but I will ALWAYS dine at Mangia Qui with full confidence that my health is as important to their team as their own. Thank you!
Love this place! A bit on the pricey side and chef could hold the salt but the food is soo good
Wonderful food, great service, social distancing. What else could you expect. Highly recommend. Will definitely return.
We started with the Focaccia bread and a very nice Riesling. My entree was the Veal Francaise and my husband had the lasagna. Both meals were very good. Excellent service and great food. This was our second visit to Manga Qui. Our first visit was when the restaurant had first opened. I have to say that the quality of the food has greatly improved. We will return!
We eat there at least once a month. The food is stellar!
Fantastic Chef, food, service and reasonably prices.
Absolutely the best Italian food around. Super fresh and very delicious. Great service and atmosphere (we like to sit in the bar).
As always, This restaurant did not disappoint. Took friends here who had not been before and they were as delighted as we always are. The quality of the food is always exceptional and the service is always attentive and friendly. In my opinion you simply cannot find a better place in Va Beach if you want Italian food!
The service was very good. The food was fresh and came out quickly.
Always a great experience!
Mangia Qui is a great find!! Unassuming and non pretentious, it doesn’t stand out from anything in the strip mall off Independence Blvd., but don’t be fooled. You walk in and are greeted immediately. The waitstaff is superb...professional and warm. We had Rachel for our server. She was very helpful with menu items and wine selection. A large part of the items are homemade using quality ingredients, including the pasta, the mozzarella cheese, the bread, the butter, and the salad dressing. I had the most amazing lasagna with veal and Italian sausage inside...DELICIOUS! We were so pleased with our experience that we’re already planning a return visit.
Spectacular. Amazing choice of dishes, each one absolutely delicious. From the wine to entree to dessert, this was one of the best meals I've ever had and all four people in my party agreed.
We enjoyed everything about Mangia Qui. I drank a delicious Peroni and my husband ordered an inexpensive and tasty glass of Chianti. The burratta appetizer was good, maybe not worth $13, but satisfying and fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed my lasagna and my husband’s sausages and peppers over ziti was fresh and good. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and I am still dreaming of the espresso martini we shared for dessert!
Everything was wonderful. We will be back!
Great food. We had a great server by the name of Rob. He recommended a delicious special. Will definitely be back!
Service was great, our waiter was very helpful with menu selection and wine to compliment the meal.
Exceptional service, nice atmosphere. We did not feel rushed.
I have been here several times and is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Took a “foodie”friend and she was also impressed. The food is consistently delicious...
Excellent service, great value and superb food
Other than plain pasta w/ marinara, zero 'vegetarian' options...had to settle for two side items that didn't really pair well (risotto & shaved brussels).
Dining partner ordered veal Marsala which arrive cut thick and difficult to chew. She ordered another dish but, despite the restaurant being relatively empty for a Saturday night, the second dish took so long to come out of the kitchen the rest of our party was finished eating!
At $125 for three persons, all agreed not worth a second visit. :-(
First time dining at this restaurant. Ordered the Salmon Mostarda and the Chef's special. Kitchen was slow. Food was good. Our server was friendly and went above and beyond, but it felt like he was too loud and definitely tried too hard to upsell us on dinner and desserts. I would have given 3 stars; however, the kicker is...after dining here, the restaurant overcharged my credit card more than I gave (extra, extra tip??) on my receipt. Will not dine here again.
Amazing fresh pasta and bread. Went for my dad’s birthday and we enjoyed everything except the salad was just average. Waiter was good but a little loud. Will definitely be returning. Best spaghetti and meatballs I’ve had in this area.
Great food, great service! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Nice ambiance too, not too formal and not too casual.
Small, cozy, neighborhood Italian eatery. We dined on a Friday evening and the restaurant was full which was a testament to the great food. They have the usual Italian pasta, chicken, and veal dishes. The menu is ala carte. We opted for the daily specials which included a thinly sliced breaded and fried zucchini platter as an app. It served 3. Instead of the typical marinara which tends to overpower the zucchini, it was served with a basil cream sauce. Excellent! The entree special was a seafood dish with sea scallops (done perfectly), shrimp, capers, and asparagus (not overcooked) served over pasta. Another winner. Topped off the meal with cannolli which were also excellent. Will be happy to return.
What a great find! Comfortable environment, excellent service, wonderful food. Looking forward to next visit.
The staff was very professional and attentive, from the hostess to our waitress Loretta, to even the busboy refilling our water and clearing our dishes in a very timely manner.
Food was just so-so for the price. Service was very good. Probably won't go back as there are many Italian restaurants with better food for the same price. However, this place is convenient if you live in Haygood
The best italian food that I have ever had- seriously!! The service was amazing as well! The waiter went above and beyond explaining the food/wine pairings and making custom choices for my picky eating (I don’t like cheese or cream sauces which is normally hard at Italian restaurants). He was entertaining as well- had my husband and I smiling the whole time. The owner overheard that it was our first visit to the restaurant and came over to introduce herself and ask how the meal was. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!!!
We were first timers last Sunday. Had a great table, and Rachel, our server, was great! Food is all prepared on site. While you wait a few extra minutes for your custom order, it's definitely worth it.
We have already booked a table for next week!
Mangia Qui Italian Bistro is my all time favorite for great food, wine (or cocktails), atmosphere, and personable staff. It's my Cheers, "Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and you're always glad you came!"
We were a table of 8 celebrating a graduation. We waited a little longer than I would have wanted to get a drink order taken. It was busy at the time, so no big deal really. The food is excellent!!
Lovely family-owned Italian restaurant. It is mostly American-Italian and very good. The eggplant parmigiana was excellent! A crisp outer crust with tender eggplant. A very reasonable wine list and very good service. Definitely great value for the money.
Food and service were excellent. Would definitely come back again!
This was our first time at Mangia Qui Bistro. we enjoyed everything and will be back!
Celebrated my mother’s 91 st Birthday. You accommodated eating restrictions with such a positive attitude. So often that’s not the case with other establishments. Thank you for an overall perfect evening. Food and waiter were the best. Great chief!!
Have eaten here since our 1st time in Feb. We usually go on Sundays (my husband is Italian) @ opening time (4:30). It is quiet and al ways delic!!!
Mangia Qui is always a treat. The food was freshly prepared, and the pace of the meal was very relaxed (but not slow even though it was busy).
