Mandu's newest location, opened Jan 2011, is located at the City Vista building in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. Mandu opened on 18th St. in the fall of 2006 by Chef Yesoon Lee and her two children, Jean and Danny. Chef Lee presides over the kitchen making sure that the recipes and dishes taste as she was originally taught being raised in Seoul. Her specialty is creating homestyle Korean dishes that one would enjoy in her own kitchen. Jean and Danny run the operations and service, providing a fun and energetic environment that offers the comfort and ease of a neighborhood restaurant.

Very tasty. We've been here several times before and enjoyed our most recent experience.

One request: make chicken wings available at table. When I'm at the bar I order them, and they are delicious. I'm told you can only order them at the bar, which is a shame

Some of our drinks were reasonable b/c we ate during happy hour; all were fabulous. We tried a new dessert and it was delicious. Food was not only tasty but plentiful.

Failure to serve coffee is a downside.

Server was fantastic--patient, helpful, friendly, efficient.

Our first time at Mandu on K Street. Even though parking was difficult (several blocks away, street parking) it was worth the trip. The food proved to be delicious. One of my favorites - Jajang Myeon - they have the best one from among others I've had. We had the luck to be served by "Eun," and she had been very charming, very accommodating, and very patient with us. Overall, I/we think that Mandu is one of the better restaurants for homestyle Korean dishes. Only thing is they don't greet you with the Korean welcome ("Annyeonghaseyo")...personally, I'd have felt it as more welcoming than just, "Table for ?"

Great place for Korean food in D.C. Recommend San-Jeok, Mixed Green Salad Apps. Wine list is okay. Entrees Dduk Bo Gi, Yache Gui, Galbi. Soups: Yookgejang or Soon Doo boo are also quite good.

Great food! Went on a Friday evening, early, so Happy Hour was in full throttle. I have never been to Mandu when it was this raucous. I have been to this location at least 4 other times. It was so loud I could not hear the people I was dining with.

As always food and service were great. I would suggest not going at 6:30 on a Friday evening though.

Love the mandu and dolsot bibim bap here (the hot stone bowl is absolutely worth the extra dollar). This is also one of my favorite happy hour places.

Had a table on their upper level. This allowed for a more quiet dinner if that is what you are looking for. Our server was incredibly helpful, kind, and service was always delivered quickly. The happy hour deals were good and the appetizer dumplings were delicious. Entrees were brought out quickly and they were delicious. They make excellent kimchi that wasn't as hot as I'd come to expect, but delicious nonetheless. My guest had higher praise for their entree than the high praise I had for mine. Overall a great experience and looking forward to going again.

Our waiter was definitely overbooked due to low staff so service was rather slow, but he managed to balance it all and make us feel valued.

They need to figure their service out. The restaurant was not crowded, but our host didn't take our order within 15 minutes of sitting. We had to leave. Obvious it was going to be a three-hour lunch, based on their service speed and quality.

There were flies circling our table all evening. This is the second time I’ve had this experience. It really makes the meal unpleasant. The food is great, the service is wonderful and it’s very reasonably priced. If they could just fix the bug issue, they’d be a home run.

The food was great, but pretty overpriced for Korean BBQ. Great service, seated quickly. House wine was expensive and sub par. Would go again for their brunch special, though! It looks amazing.

We had been looking for good Korean food in DC and Mandu hit the spot. Nice level of spice in the food and a knowledgeable server who took pride in knowing the dishes on the menu and explaining very thoroughly the techniques used in preparation. Good selection of cocktails also. Recommended.
