About Mandu - K Street
Mandu's newest location, opened Jan 2011, is located at the City Vista building in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. Mandu opened on 18th St. in the fall of 2006 by Chef Yesoon Lee and her two children, Jean and Danny. Chef Lee presides over the kitchen making sure that the recipes and dishes taste as she was originally taught being raised in Seoul. Her specialty is creating homestyle Korean dishes that one would enjoy in her own kitchen. Jean and Danny run the operations and service, providing a fun and energetic environment that offers the comfort and ease of a neighborhood restaurant.

Mandu - K Street Ratings and Reviews
Great food! Went on a Friday evening, early, so Happy Hour was in full throttle. I have never been to Mandu when it was this raucous. I have been to this location at least 4 other times. It was so loud I could not hear the people I was dining with.
As always food and service were great. I would suggest not going at 6:30 on a Friday evening though.
Had a table on their upper level. This allowed for a more quiet dinner if that is what you are looking for. Our server was incredibly helpful, kind, and service was always delivered quickly. The happy hour deals were good and the appetizer dumplings were delicious. Entrees were brought out quickly and they were delicious. They make excellent kimchi that wasn't as hot as I'd come to expect, but delicious nonetheless. My guest had higher praise for their entree than the high praise I had for mine. Overall a great experience and looking forward to going again.
There were flies circling our table all evening. This is the second time I’ve had this experience. It really makes the meal unpleasant. The food is great, the service is wonderful and it’s very reasonably priced. If they could just fix the bug issue, they’d be a home run.
We had been looking for good Korean food in DC and Mandu hit the spot. Nice level of spice in the food and a knowledgeable server who took pride in knowing the dishes on the menu and explaining very thoroughly the techniques used in preparation. Good selection of cocktails also. Recommended.
Don't miss the happy hour sojutinis and mandu!! The mandu alone is worth the cab fare! It was just as crunchy & delicious as the street vendors in Seoul!
My husband had the bul go gi. He was a little confused by the presentation, but I reminded him that the leaves are customary - just not always included when you get it at other restaurants. It was different for the veggies to come on the hot plate with the meat, but he enjoyed them.
I had the vegetarian dduk bok gi. The flavor was sweet and spicy but not so spicy that you couldn't tell what you were eating. The mushrooms & noodles were perfect! I would have liked some more vegetables (maybe carrots & cabbage), but that's just a personal preference.
The ban chan was a little blander than I like, but again - that's a personal preference. The way it was seasoned would be perfect for someone that hadn't tried it before.
The service was attentive and we'll timed. I will definitely be back when I'm in DC.
