Best Middle Eastern around! I’ve yet to be disappointed! Sherry ( server) was fun, honest, attentive, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is a bit old school but that’s part of its charm. If you like raw kibbe, this is one of 2 places in the Detroit area that I’ll order it.... really superb!!!
We took my daughter there to celebrate her birthday. Love the freshness of the food and the fact that we are not competing to hear ourselves talk. Love the ambiance and the service is excellent. We have followed the owners from their place in Southfield to their location on Telegraph and we are never disappointed. Our favorite is their calamari. They also have the very best pita bread as well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy great Lebanese food.
First time at Mandaloun, and we were impressed. Lebanese dining with table cloths in a very pleasant setting. Hummus was excellent. Those that ate crushed lentil soup thought it was very flavorful. Chicken was a little dry but tasty. Other items were plentiful and enjoyable. Wished there were more people there to support a very good restaurant.
Finally stopped in and we were very happy with that decision. A very nice spot. Very tasty food, good service and pleasant environment. A decent amount of vegetarian dishes to choose from. Chicken shawarma was very nice & the chicken had a great grilled flavor. Veggies could have been cooked more, otherwise, everything was delicious. Will definitely return.
Wonderful, attentive server. Great food and very fresh brewed iced tea!
Great Lebanese restaurant in the Southfield area. Appropriate for a date or quiet business dinner with fantastic food.
There was a large party in the main room. They were noisy and significantly raised the noise level for our dinner. They could have been set up in the private room adjacent to the main room.
Also, several of us ordered stuffed eggplant . We were informed there was only one order left, which is understandable. The issue was that we were informed a very long time after the order was taken. It would seem that information could have been presented to us sooner.
I cannot say enough good things about this place! The food was phenomenal. We just to try several starters (known as Mazza in the Lebanese world) and split one entree.
We order tabbouli, sujuk, foul medamas, baba ghanouj, pheonician fries and smelt. And we shared the lamb shank with okra. We could tell the baba ghanouj was blended with hummus but it still tasted great. The smelt was so salty however, we asked they flash fry them again to remove the salt but the salt was in the fish itself not the breading. They removed the charge without us even asking! The tabbouli and foul and sujuk were as fresh and delicious as what you would get in Lebanon! (Maybe even better) and the fries were garlicy and lemony... absolutely delicious! Finally the entree itself was like my mom’s own cooking at home! So good. Service was great too. The ambiance was nice and quiet, I prefer Lebanese music in the background and maybe more decor to give tribute Northern Lebanese culture but it was clean and elegant. We really loved this place and can’t wait to go back!
First time dining at Mandaloun Bistro. Great food, great service. Quiet night due to 4th of July holiday weekend. Server was attentive, helpful with menu, and fun to talk to. Delicious house salad which she recommended. Looking forward to returning. Great value.
Great lunch value!
I was very pleased with my first time at Mandaloun Bistro. The food was excellent and reasonably prices and the waitstaff was very accommodating to our needs. The decor was very nice and the noise level was low allowing a chance to have a good conversation without having to raise our voices. I will definitely be back in the future.
It’s was ok, just empty when I went which was around 3-5pm
Enjoyed a lovely mothers day lunch. Ambiance is nice, food portions are generous, price is acceptable and food quality is very good. We enjoyed it. Will come back!
We had dinner at Moudaloun for the first time. It has a quaint and elegant atmosphere, but very comfortable. Our server was friendly and attentive. And our meals were delicious!😊
great food ( drinks) and overall a delightful dining experience.
Service was mediocre at best. As my young daughter would say ‘That man does not enjoy his job’. Waiter was engaged on a minimal level. If it were my establishment he would not be a customer facing employee.
What a gem in our backyard! The service and food are outstanding. My guess is that with a different location this place would have a two hour wait on a Saturday night! Great for a romantic date night or a place to bring the whole family. I've already scheduled my next visit!!
Excellent food and service
Lunch and service was wonderful as always. The food is fresh and exceptional and the service is knowledgeable and attentive. Mandaloun is now my favorite place to entertain clients or friends for lunch or dinner. Barb L.
Was disappointed with both the service and food tonight! The restaurant was over booked for Valentine’s Day and had three servers for the whole restaurant... no other help at the table for water or clearing. No hostess for the evening. Service was slow and the atmosphere very noisy especially for us who were seated very close to the live band. They ran out of Kafta at 8 pm. The waiter was not helpful nor could he hear anything we asked. Couldn’t wait to get out of there!! Very bad experience
It was a lovely evening.
Good food and service.
We originally went to see a friend who was singing and were pleasantly surprised with the delicious food and the exceptional service. Quancia was a gem. We will be going back
Great Mediterranean cuisine. We also enjoy the entertainment on weekends, although the night we were there, the entertainer was not as good as previous visits.
Great food. Reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere
Very pleasant, beautiful setting , great ambiance. Great for small gatherings
Super fast and attentive service. Perfect for business lunch. Food is always great
The two sides with the lunch entree is a favorite as is the Lebanese moussaka, quite different than the Greek version.
Love the food at this restaurant! The service is top notch too.
We are NEVER disappointed at Mandaloun! The food is not only delicious, but consistent in taste visit after visit.
I always love going to Mandaloun, my favorite dish on the menu is the vegetarian trio. I get to pick 3 from a nice selection. I love the mujadara, so that is always one of my picks. I like the way the restaurant can accommodate my gluten free requirement by giving me romaine leaves instead of pita bread.
The food was delicious and the portions were generous! Will definitely go back
Really beautiful restaurant. It's almost deceiving because you assume food will be pricey here since it's such a nice place. Meals were very reasonably priced. We dined here for a business meeting and enjoyed the lunch specials, which were well portioned. The only reason I didn't give 5* for the service is because it took quite a few minutes to get water and menus on the table when we first sat down and that's a huge pet peeve of mine.
Wow, I’m sorry we haven’t tried it sooner. The food was fantastic!! Our server was lovely and very descriptive on the menu selections. My husband is a vegetarian and he had many choices! My kids also enjoyed it!! I had the couscous stew, which was delicious!! It’s not your typical middle eastern restaurant! More upscale but casual enough for a weeknight meal. We will return for sure and even carry out!!
A favorite spot great food.
We celebrated 2 birthdays at Mandaloun Bistro. The service was absolutely outstanding and food was delicious. We'll be back!
The chicken was extremely dry and overcooked. I have never been a big Mediterranean food person, but was there as a birthday gift for one of my co-workers. We had a great server, and I should have complained, but didn't. I don't like barely cooked vegetables either, so found the mixed vegetables uneatable.
This was our first time at Mandaloun Bistro, and it was not at all a disappointment! Dining area is beautiful, with a really lovely ambiance and exceptionally comfortable seating. I also appreciate that tables are spaced so as to not give the feeling of being too close to other patrons. Service was demonstrably friendly and engaging, albeit to be truly critical, there were gaps in responses to order requests and basic table management such as water refills. As for the food, depending on the plate, the offerings ranged from 'great' to 'acceptable'. The Mujadera was honestly divine, perhaps the best I've ever tasted, and the yogurt was fresh, delicious, and perfect as the accompaniment. The Lebanese salad was equally wonderful. As for the combination plate of beef, chicken and lamb, I found the lamb ribs to be very good and tender, however the chicken was rather dry and the beef not as flavorful as I would have hoped for. All in all, it was a very positive experience! While the prices are quite steep for Middle Eastern fare, the servings are enormous!
Ambiance is very nice and upscale for a middle eastern restaurant. Food however does not correspond to the upscale setting. Lamb shank served with a piece of foil wrapped around the shank. A dessert that looked thawed with ice cream tossed on the plate. Overall the food was adequate but nothing special or commensurate with the price point.
Better to go to Phoenicia for the food and ambiance. If the upscale setting isn’t important head to Grape Leaves.
The Lebanese/Middle Eastern food is excellent. Never had a bad meal here. And the wine list complements the menu. Love the option of white-table-cloth dining, healthy Middle Eastern food and the option of having wine -- which you can't do in most of the Middle Eastern restaurants in Dearborn.
Service was outstanding. Portions were large. Baba ghanoush was smoky and good. The lamb shank was very bland. The stuffed zucchini was better tasting. Very nice dining environment despite being in an office building.
