I use to go to Mancora when they were on the other corner normally I would say that the food is amazing full of flavor, lots of options and very good service. However it was horrible we sat there waiting for our food about 30 to 45 minute, with only being addressed once after waiting 30 minutes. Once the food arrived we ate it however it was because we were hungry not because it was good! I score them at a-10!!!!!!

Hervorragendes Essen und leckere Cocktails zu sehr günstigen Preisen. Der Service war sehr gut. Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Sehr empfehlenswert!

I’ve had better Paella. The Red sangria tasted like medicine. The margarita was much better (I tasted my daughter’s). The waiter was not very attentive and took a while to ask if we needed anything.

Great ceviche and lomo saltado. Service was spotty. The Peruvian rice pudding was the worst I've ever had. Stay away from it.

Small place. Big plates and worth the price. Just not the best Peruvian cuisine. The steak was okay, the rice was terrible. Probably won’t be back.

IT took 45minutes to get our drinks. There was one waiter for the whole restaurant. The ceviche was good but the rest of the food was not what we expected, seafood rice (was tomato sauce and barboiled rice with seafood thown in top) and the salmon dish was too well done and mashed potatoes where boxed mashed potatoes mix with green food coloring).
The pisco sour was good.

This restaurant was better 4yrs ago. Maybe they changed chefs, I don't know. But I remember the food was much better and they had more sangria choices. Also, the new bar with the disco lights is kind of tacky. I liked it better when they remained somewhat authentic to a Peruvian restaurant.

Since I've eaten here before and have had good experiences, I'm guessing this night was an off night? Service was horrendous. Was seated at a table without any place setting. My boyfriend ordered before me as I wasn't ready but the waiter never came back to get my order. Other tables were given plantain chips but not us. It was a very bad experience.

It was closed!!!!! How can I make a reservation, have it confirmed and then show up to a totally closed restaurant? This was among friends, but I use open table to book for work all the time, and this would have been super embarrassing in a professional setting. Would love to know how this happened.

We had a huge party for the place 15 people and they were able to accommodate us. The food was great. having two vegetarian entree options at a Peruvian place was unexpected and much appreciated. The plantain chips at the table were delicious. When one person in our party's food took longer than everyone else's to come out of the kitchen, they made it right with a free drink for him. We really appreciated the service and had an amazing time there. The desserts are amazing btw, the chocolate empanadas are a must try.

From the dishes that I had (ceviche mancora, anticuchos, seco de cordero) they did not taste as good as they could have. The food is not bad but it does not live up to the flavor of Peruvian cuisine. Ceviche is usually made with corvina no red snapper and you should ask if the table wants with aji or without ají. The seco was good but everything else was average. The service was good and the pisco sour was very good. A note on the anticucho is that it came out a little cold and it was a very thing piece of cow heart which usually anticuchos are a bit thicker.

If you are craving Peruvian it's a good spot. A little rough around the edges in terms of cleanliness (bathroom) and service was a bit hit or miss, but overall it's a unique, authentic spot.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here, and with 14 people that is often challenging to pull off in the East Village. Mancora was more than accommodating, and we had a great wait staff that was patient with us as we continued to order tapas to the table. Food was above average - nothing amazing, but very good - and it allowed us to enjoy and have a great time with all of our friends. Additionally, I appreciated that the restaurant allowed our party to be seated in waves; we had people coming from all over and it was nice to be able to ease into the evening as opposed to having to wait for the entire party before being seated.

All in all, a very positive experience. Definitely would go again with a large group.

Good food but very noisy. Not the restaurants fault but it's your typical Manhattan energy from the guests.

Also, the neighborhood area was average and the walk from the 2 train stop to the restaurant was average.

The dessert was awesome though - cake with ice cream and condensed milk and cut apples

We've been to Mancora three or four times, but moved away from the East Village and haven't been back in over a year. We started with the grilled octopus which was really delicious. It was charred perfectly and everyone enjoyed it. Drinks were part of happy hour until 8PM so our first drinks were cheaper than the others (although also much smaller). I got a Mojito after happy hour was over and it was really good. It had a branch of sugar cane in it which was really sweet and fun to eat. For dinner everyone got seafood - I asked for the Cilantro rice with mine because it's fantastic. We also got the dessert which is a cake with condensed milk - really superb.

Overall Mancora is a really tremendous value with great food. I highly recommend.

I've always loved this place with its big door/windows but on a really hot summer night in NYC I prefer air conditioning. It was so hot and dinner took almost an hour to arrive. The avocado salad was delicious and quite plentiful as well as the ceviche Mancora. It had a wonderful assortment of everything in the sea. The steak was a bit well done when we ordered medium. Our entrees came out 5 minutes apart from each other which is always awkward and leaves a diner at a loss for whether to begin to eat or wait politely. The pisco sours were spot on. Overall, still good but not great.

Excellent Ceviche Mancora & roasted chicken. Portions are not skimpy, either - we ordered just those two entrees to share (1/2 chicken came with rice & beans, and complimentary plantain chips and cilantro sauce) and two people were very happily stuffed. Wait staff is chill, friendly, and polite ... promptly attentive without hovering or intruding. This was my third or fourth time at Mancora over the course year, and I plan to return many times.

I have been to Mancora many times. The food is delicious and the service is great. As with all restaurants, I would just like to know where they get their seafood from so I can make sure it's sustainable slavery-free. This is largely due to the recent Pulitzer Prize winning series of AP reports on how much shrimp is peeled by people. e.g. from Myanmar/Burmawho, enslaved and treated brutally and forced to peel shrimp in Indonesia and Thailand. Much of this slavery-caught seafood has been sent to restaurants and grocery stores in the U.S. such as Red Lobster, Albertson's, Walmart, etc. I wanted to make sure that the places that Mancora sources their seafood from does not have slavery in their supply chain. I emailed the restaurant and received no answer. Due to all this I wanted to order the shrimp entree but because I couldn't find out about their seafood, I ate dinner at home and only ordered only a side dish of papas a la huncaina, which were delicious. Pisco sours are always great too.
