Drawing on traditional staples from Peru and Spain, Mancora Chef Enrique Peraldo puts a contemporary spin on the classics. Each dish is pleasing to the eyes as it is the tastebuds, presented as tasteful culinary offerings to woo the American palate.
After polishing off a few plates, an evening here feels like scaling Machu Picchu without breaking a sweat — but you’ve still earned the authentic Peruvian dessert you’ve been eyeballing on the menu. The Pionono is the ideal finish to the whole journey, expertly showing off Peru’s Spanish roots while satiating sweet tooths. We welcome you to Mancora: Peru at its best, right here in the East Village, right here on your p
It was cute, and very intimídate... but then again I went the day before Thanksgiving so I wasn’t expecting much traffic
Food is good, service is good also
Everything was delicious but the beans didn’t taste right. They had a sour tinge to them so I asked them to take them back.
The reason this restaurant is receiving such a poor review is because though my reservation was confirmed and the restaurant’s “open” sign was illuminated when I got there, the whole place was locked up with no sign of people inside. I tried to call to cancel my reservation but since no one was there I was unable to get through to do so. And as a result I couldn’t officially cancel my reservation on Open Table, which mean that I couldn’t make another one elsewhere. The whole thing was really troubling but I hesitate to give the restaurant a poor review since it might have been an error on the OpenTable side of things. Either way, everyone who uses this should know. I hope the problem gets addressed.
Eh could've been way better. Food was unimpressive. Drinks were great. Please could be cleaner and better organized.
The menu options on this website is NOT accurate! The food is low quality for me personally.
Great happy hour!
The food was quite disappointing. Although the Pisco Sour was delicious, the food was bland, the avocado salad had brown avocados, the ají de gallina was very watery and the cau cau de mariscos was basically not edible (was the seafood frozen?). If the owner and/or the chef are Peruvian, they should be ashamed. If the chef is not Peruvian, well, there lies the problem. Would never come back here.
This is a lovely little restaurant in the East Village, excellent Peruvian food, very polite service from the small, personable waitstaff.
Très bon service sympa et attentionné, musique latino, cadre agréable, bonne cuisine, ceviche au top :)
Really friendly staff and the food was delicious. The chocolate empanadas were to die for! We’ll definitely be back!
The food and service were both excellent. The spinach mashed potatoes were insane. Yucca fries MUST be ordered. I have been here before and will go again.
First time here. I really appreciate how open the main dining area was. Y’all glass windows that can slide open to provide an entrance to the sidewalk to allow fresh spring air in. The food was great, I had lomo saltado. However the service was not what I expected from and ast village location, let alone in NYC. I sat down, received my appetizer then my main course, still did not receive utensils. I had to go up and grab a fork from the bin, myself. What really bothered me was that I ordered a glass of red merlot Argentina that never came to the table. I probably will not be coming back.
Great for big groups and birthdays - was very easy to accommodate a group of 14 and the staff could not have been nicer.
mancora is the place to go for peruvian style food in a simple and authentic atmosphere...there are lots more upscale places, but this one simply serves generous portions of good food at reasonable prices...
the coupon deal is misleading....you dont get two dinners for the cost of the coupon, you merely get $12 off the bill, after the $18 you pay in the first place...truth in advertising can avoid surprises..
especially love the ceviche and the soups....
Food was good, but service was very slow. It was valentine's day after all but it was obvious they didn't have enough staff on duty. It took us over 30 minutes to get our dessert alone and we could see how long it took other tables just to get there drinks. Overall there food is good but there service was lacking. Additionally, they made a mistake on the check and charged us an extra ice cream charge. They were obviously rushing and not prepared for a busy night. Be wary if they are packed with people.
Good food, great service. All in all a n excellent dinning experience
Mancora always delivers and never disappoints! I always come for the ceviche and drinks, but the fish taquito has to be the best in the city! Love this place more every time I come.
One of my favorite nabes. Always delicious nicely presented dishes. And a terrific, attentive staff.
Mancora was a bit of a disappointment. I ordered their chef’s special 3-course meal and was underwhelmed by all three courses, especially the duck, which did not had unrendered fat instead of crispy skin. The service was good and the vibe was pretty chill.
This is one of our go-to restaurants because it never disappoints. Excellent and affordable Peruvian cuisine.
Loved the food the service was great
The paella and cau cau were delicious as well as the sangria! We have dined here many times and it's always a great meal and reasonable.
Not good at all. Was highly disappointed with all the food.
Miguel our waiter was wonderful & very helpful. The ambiance was lively & the food was delicious. A great time was had by all!
Excellent service and delicious food. What a restaurant should have. We will be back frequently. Casual.
Food was tasteless. Very small place.
We were visiting our daughter in NYC. The food was really good but restaurant was noisy.
We had a reservation for 7:30pm and our table was ready and waiting. The food was exactly right. We love Peruvian food and they serve the favorites. The drinks specials were really good. We had a great time.
High school graduation and to watch a World Cup game. Also, they raised the prices a lot, too much for bad food.
Our family enjoyed delicious authentic Peruvian drinks and food at Mancora. The price was reasonable and service friendly. A good place to eat if you want to try real Peruvian
The happy hour margaritas were strong and the food was delicious. This restaurant was a great Mother’s Day choice.
We came right on time for the reservation. Place was close. Unbelivable.....
I use to go to Mancora when they were on the other corner normally I would say that the food is amazing full of flavor, lots of options and very good service. However it was horrible we sat there waiting for our food about 30 to 45 minute, with only being addressed once after waiting 30 minutes. Once the food arrived we ate it however it was because we were hungry not because it was good! I score them at a-10!!!!!!
Hervorragendes Essen und leckere Cocktails zu sehr günstigen Preisen. Der Service war sehr gut. Die Kellner waren sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Sehr empfehlenswert!
Nice friendly place
I’ve had better Paella. The Red sangria tasted like medicine. The margarita was much better (I tasted my daughter’s). The waiter was not very attentive and took a while to ask if we needed anything.
Great ceviche and lomo saltado. Service was spotty. The Peruvian rice pudding was the worst I've ever had. Stay away from it.
Excellent, authentic Peruvian cuisine. Highly recommended!
