This was an amazing meal/experience and I recommend it to anyone who wants a romantic evening in Boston
We booked Mamma Maria's for my wife's birthday dinner. We all enjoyed our food and service. Our waiter was great. We would come back and dine again.
Whenever we are in Boston this restaurant is top on our list!
Waiter wS excellent
Food was served with great attention
Very restaurants meet all simple expectations these days...this one exceeds them
Go to to dinner here
We had a late reservation which allowed us to enjoy a quiet almost empty dining room
We were not rushed or ever made to feel like we had to leave ...very polite and wonderful staff
Mama Maria is a very fine establishment with authentic food and ambiance. We went there for a romantic birthday date. It was small, quiet and the service was great. There were not many options, but I would imagine they have a rotating menu. We had a half bottle of wine, one appetizer, split a main entree, and dessert. It was perfect!
Very disappointed in Mamma Maria last night. The restaurant was boisterous on a Tuesday but also nearly deafening in the upstairs dining room and we had to ask for our table to be moved.
We were accommodated but our request seemed to put out the staff and our waiter and we were then treated like unwanted guests at the establishment.
The salad I ordered was prepared differently indicated on the menu, which was then somehow made to be my fault when I pointed it out to our server.
We were quite clear that there would be a split appetizer and a split entree at the beginning of ordering, yet instead of graciously splitting the orders in the kitchen, numerous forks, spoons and knives were brought to the table and we were made to do it ourselves.
Our wine was not served until AFTER we had finished our first course, and it was not the bottle we had ordered (they said they couldn't find it in their cellar)so we were left to enjoy the appetizers with our water. None of this was brought to our attention in a timely manner.
It was such a stunning display of disregard that it appeared the restaurant was discriminating against my guests as they were of advanced age (senior citizens) although being very attentive to younger patrons.
I was appalled and embarrassed and will not return and cannot recommend.
My wife and I came here for a birthday after having it recommended by friends. We were seated on the second floor near a window with a nice view of the City. The wine that our server recommended was top notch. The Burrata appetizer was outstanding. The Tuna Tar Tar appetizer and the Winter Salad both underwhelmed. We ordered the Pappardelle with Rabbit and Bolognese entrees and they were terrific. Finished off with a Tiramisu and cappucino, which were also top shelf. All in all, it was a great meal.
Absolutely wonderful. Food was OUTSTANDING!!
Excellent service and food as usual. Long history of dining there and have never been disappointed. Food and delicious desserts. Waiters very helpful and honest.
Great and magih night
We were celebrating a close and Valentine’s Day! Pricey but DELICIOUS!
good！very good homemade food and feeling
We went to Mamma Maria's for Valentine's Day with relatively high expectations, having seen the high reviews. The food was about average for the North End, which is to say that it was good however it was not exceptional, which was disappointing given the cost and hype. The service was lacking in professionalism and attentiveness. Mamma Maria's may perform better on a non-holiday, however we will not be returning. There are just too many good alternative options, in that neighborhood alone, to go back.
It's a very nice classy dining restaurant that had the really nice luxury well that are presented good quality food it was very worth it and it's a very nice romantic very well recommended
The service and the food could not have been better. They made a vegetarian dish for us, and I had the rib eye which was perfect. Can't wait to go back.
Went for an early Valentines Day dinner. Room was lovely and food and service were fantastic.
Experience was very nice and had a very wonderful time. The layout of the restaurant is very different compared to other restaurants. The conversion of a colonial house where different rooms were made into dining rooms provides the customer with a different experience. In other words you won’t find yourself in a large, open spaced area. It’s much smaller and makes it more personal. The service provided by our waiter was great. He was friendly and was there to help with anything. The food was DELICIOUS. However the price for 3 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 dinner platers, and 2 desserts exceeded $200. The ambiance was ok nothing to scream over but it was a very nice place.
We had a great dinning experience at Mama Maria. The food was very authentic and well made. The restaurant was in Boston’s north end and had a cozy ambience, unlike some of the other places in the area. True Italian food, great service. You really get a dinning experience by enjoying conversation and drinks while not being rushed out of the place so they can fill tables. Great place I highly recommend!
Mamma Maria's is always a delight. The sad part is they keep changing the menu so our favorite dish was not on the menu. Also we would have liked a few more pasta options but all that said the food is wonderful and they are very accommodating to special dietary needs.
Great food and service
Mamma Maria has been my all time favorite for decades. It never lets me down and the menu changes daily, so I keep coming back for more. This is definitely my go to place!
Second time there, second time was as good as the first.
Amazing views, great food, great servers, wonderful drinks. Not much more you can ask.
Mamma Maria is the bomb!!! Best restaurant in the North End, bar none. I’ve been a regular for 20 years.
I am a local resident near Mamma Maria. I have frequented it but I was not happy with my table request being handled. Seating a fifth person at the end of a four top is unacceptable in a restaurant of this level. I requested another table but it went on deaf ears. Having a person squeezed in in the end does not appeal to me. I requested a table in a very good area. I tip very well and when I return to restaurant I expect my requests to be heard. I am very disappointed .
The service was horrible and rude. The dinner came midway through the appetizer and the bread with the olives were cleared and we were asked multiple times if he could clear our appetizer. After the delicious meal, and upon paying the bill, we were asked if we had valet. We Uber’ed so the answer was no. As we were finishing our wine, we were asked by a second gentleman in a suit and tie if we had valet. I’ve never felt so pushed out! After a most delicious meal we were left with a sour taste in our mouths. I understand Friday night’s are busy, but please do not push me out!
When we got to the coat check, they couldn’t find my friend’s coat for the longest time. Do you know why? It’s because it found it’s way to the floor and no one bothered to pick it up and hang it back up!
Great place for a meal, food was phenomenal. Just a bit pricey for a business meal, but would definitely recommend for dinner date!
Met some old friends and had a fantastic north end meal. Everything was top notch. Would definitely come back.
This restaurant was very good! The waiter was knowledgeable and the food was delicious. We had a great table with a beautiful view of the downtown Boston skyline.
This is not the first time I have been here but it will probably be the last. The restaurant is beautiful, the food although pricey is wonderful and worth it for a special occasion but Wednesday the service was awful. We felt rushed the entire time. Our waiter made it perfectly clear that he was looking to flip the table. They even went as far as clearing the table while we were sitting there.
I really love Mamma Maria. It's charming, intimate, delicious food, excellent waitstaff, low lighting. Just a great atmosphere.
