Great appetizers and entrees. The Carpaccio with truffles....magnificant. Osso Bucco the best!
Great experience - perfect service - we love Mamma Maria
We went to Mamma Maria's for an anniversary dinner, and the staff was extremely friendly and really made it a special occasion. From the food and wine selection, to the small touch of putting 'Happy Anniversary' on our dessert plate, the dinner was very memorable and we really enjoyed our evening there.
Authentic Italian cuisine, well prepared with excellent service. Actually a real value. Next trip to Boston, we will dine there!
Very beautiful place. Service was excellent and so was the food. We are visiting for NTI conference and decided to check this place out. It exceeded our expectations.
The duck and veal t-bone at our table were overcooked while overpriced. The pasta selections are very limited. I would never think of going back or recommending this restaurant to anyone.
The lobster ravioli was absolutely delicious. For the desert the tiramisu was to die for.
The good was good but the service made the meal. The restaurant is lovely but the seating is very tight and almost stuffy. It’s definitely a more formal setting than what I was expecting
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and environment. It is always very good.
Mother’s Day... We had a great table, second floor, by an open window... it was like dining al fresco! Food was delicious. I️ had Bolognese.... which was THE BEST BOLOGNESE EVER!! Others chose Sea Bass (delicious!!), and Duck, three ways... we also had oysters, artichoke salad, and a sausage appetizer... (I️ peeked at the online menu, and was a bit disappointed no fig appetizer on menu that day... but the oysters made-up for my brief disappointment!!). Dessert was also wonderful... I’ll go back for more Bolognese & to try the blueberry tiramisu (also not offered on Mother’s Day menu)...
The ambiance is top drawer, the service is excellent, the menu covers all tastes, the bar selections are imaginative. In other words, Mamma Maria is a class act.
wonderful good Italian FOOD...very very busy place so you need a reservation but well worth the time and the effort. A must go to in the Boston North End.
Excellent meal and service! Truly special evening.
Came here with my wife for a lovely dinner while at a conference. Everything was spectacular! Food and wine were amazing and the service was top notch. Highly recommend.
Service was mixed, food was good without being exceptional. Osso Buco and Snails were highlights, Rabbit was disappointing (heavy and greasy). Might return, but not as good as I remembered from previous visits.
Impeccable classy service, romantic atmosphere, delicious food, accommodated gluten free
Staff and food were outstanding. Great menu (food and bev).
An outstanding meal with superb service with the only negative was the rude and very expensive valet. Would definitely return but take a cab
I loved Momma Maria, the food was great, but the desserts were even better! I would recommend this place to any of my closest friends!
Amazing authentic Italian food with great service. We appreciated the server's recommendations.
Great atmosphere, excellent service and great food. Highly recommend.
EVerything was absolutely fabulous.
The dinning room was beautiful, however the food was a bit too spicy, which was not stated to be on the menu. After bringing it up to the waiter he was a bit rude about it. Overall I think it is a good place, but is way overpriced for what you're getting.
This is not your typical Italian restaurant and all the better for it. You won’t find the “standards” on the menu but that’s what makes it special, with a new menu every day. The osso buco was the best I’ve ever had, right down to the small spoon provided at the end to access the marrow. A nice touch. The pasta bolognese, with its combination of four-meat sauce, was prepared creatively though a bit too spicy for our taste. Dessert was provided to mark our special occasion. Again, a nice touch since we did not ask for it. And though we had to wait a bit for our table despite our reservation, the owner gave us complimentary champagne at the bar for our trouble. The ambiance was terrific — a collection of 4 or 5 small rooms making our dining experience more intimate. A cobblestone street leads to the entrance just a few steps from Paul Revere’s House.
When in the North End again, we will definitely return to Mamma Maria.
Fantastic evening from service to the food. Allowed us to catch up with old friends and made it even more of a pleasure
Hidden Gem! Attentive Friendly server made great food/wine paring suggestions...food was outstanding!
Fabulous dinner...Osso Buco and Rabbit Pasta dishes were awesome and highly recommended. Our waiter was attentive, reviewed the menu with us and made recommendations. We were all very pleased and will definitely return.
The menu can be different every day. Our menu had good diversity. The wine by glass options were solid. Look forward to experiencing a new set of choices on our next visit.
The service was attentive, adaptive and professional.
Been here 6 times now. I have never been let down. Excellent service, excellent food, cool part of town. Of course it is expensive, most things are in Boston. This is worth it.
Loved it great for a date night. Exquisite flavors
One of our favorite Italian restaurants
We have visited Boston twice and during both visits gone to Mamma Maria's and never been disappointed. The food is delicious!
Came recommended from a local and he was right. Incredible Italian.
We had a splendid time and meal. Both the meal and service were top notch. Yes, the restaurant is in a tourist location -- and the price reflects such -- but hey we were tourists. We would definitely return.
Very special evening with our daughter who had just run the Boston Marathon. Waiter was very good and his recommendations were spot on.
Wonderful setting, delicious food and great service!!
Ate here the night before the Boston Marathon. Pasta was excellent!
Emer was a great server and made our experience enjoyable. Every person in my part ordered different dishes, and we all loved them. The oysters appetizer was especially amazing!
Old school Italian at its finest!
