Delicious food, great cocktails, and really nice waitstaff. Been to many North End restaurants and this was one of the best. Highly recommend.
Excellent all the way around! First time sitting upstairs. Had a great table by the window that added to the already great ambiance. Service is always top notch. Food is consistently good. The Rabbit Pasta is fantastic! A must try as you can’t get that just anywhere.
If you haven’t stopped here on a dining trip to the North End, then you need to rectify that mistake ASAP!
The food options are non traditional. If you like pig, duck, and fish this is a good option.
Dinner for my birthday... food was amazing as usual, charming atmosphere!
We loved this place! It was recommended by someone at our hotel and it was everything he said it would be and then some. Great place. I highly recommend it.
Great Birthday Dinner
Visiting our son in Boston for a weekend birthday. Mamma Maria was the right place for our dinner celebration. It is a wonderful restaurant experience. The food, the wine, the service is excellent. ¡Enhorabuena!
They did not provide us with the table we had requested despite being regular customers. We have spent several thousands of dollars dining here over the past year. When we arrived they claimed the second floor was closed but at least a dozen patrons were still dining there. Our waiter continually interrupted our conversation during our dinner. This is not the level of service one should expect from a restaurant that charges premium prices. If you want service that reflects what you pay for then go elsewhere. The food is decent but the attitude is worthy of McDonalds. Spend your money on a restaurant that seems grateful for your business, not one that acts as if you’re an imposition. We will not eat here again.
Second visit and another incredible meal. Service professional and attentive.
We absolutely loved our dinner at Mamma Maria! We spent our 1 year anniversary there and they treated us so well.
Delicious way to celebrate her 17 th birthday!
I have already recommended Mamma Maria to friends. Our experience was friendly, efficient and tasty. The food was first class. I had the oysters and mushroom ravioli, it was great. My wife had the Steak, it was very good. We will eat there again next time we are in Boston.
Our waiter was excellent. As we were vegetarians.. they offer a vegetarian menu that for me, was equally as good as the main menu. A very enjoyable experience from beginning to end.
We had heard good things and were not disappointed!!! Our waitress was spectacular, had great recommendations and was excellent. The food was amazing, we had the lobster ravioli and haddock. Both were awesome. We will definitely go back, next time we are in aBoston.
The waiter was very rude. The upstairs was hot. It’s too expensive to have a rude waiter.
Best Italian food in Boston. Charming. Romantic. Glorious.
Fantastic restaurant! All of our dishes were delicious. The salads and pasta were so good. Great for a special occasion!
Great authentic Italian in the North End. Service was great and food recommendations from our waiter were on target.
Amazing on every level from the moment you walk in until you walk out
Superb food, all of our entrees and first courses were delicious, well prepared and concepted. Osso bucco, lobster agnolotti pasta, and the halibut were superb. The Zuppa Inglese desert devine. Wonderfully atmospheric and cozy atmosphere, and nice to visit the North End.
Amazing as always!!
We’ll be back!
Delicious food very friendly ,helpful and knowledgeable staff. Dining in the restaurant few times in the past I never had been seated on the second floor which is very nice and intimate and having vegetarian options makes this restaurant one of my favorite.
I called and specifically asked for a nice table to celebrate my husband's birthday with the family but instead got a table next to the busboy table where they were clanking dishes and things all the time.
Excellent evening out celebrating our wedding anniversary. The service team made the evening feel very special. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the noise level was a little high, could have been our table, and it was a little pricey...but if you are ready for that, you will have an excellent experience here! Great location too!
Always excellent. Always a pleasure. Few other restaurants like it in Boston.
Food usually outstanding, however this time it wasn't 5 star.
The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Will definitely be returning.
First trip to Boston ... just for the weekend. Friend who regularly visits on business recommended Mamma Maria. Absolutely brilliant, in the vibrant Italian quarter - loved the food, vibe, people watching ... definitely high end Italian food in chic townhouse... not a place for a quick pizza
Another wonderful dinner at Mama Maria. Despite excessively salty tilapia that needed to be sent back to the kitchen and recreated, everything was delicious...including the second tilapia attempt. The staff felt bad about the poorly executed fish and added apology desserts which helped celebrate our daughter's birthday. Having worked in restaurants before we know that sometimes the kitchen misses the mark but given the opportunity for a second chance, Mamma Maria did not disappoint. Love this place.
Excellent for a lovely night out with excellent food, ambiance--and Roberto was very professional, friendly and helpful as a server (food and wine recommendations) ....!
Foods were good but service is not good. The attitude of the waiter was not good.
Service was very bad. Attitude of the waiter was not good. All his recommendations were not good. I have been many times in this restaurant and I have never had such a bad experience as last night.
Had suckling pig. Unfortunately over cooked and very tough. Nice ambience.
Great dining experience, foods and wines were perfect.
Ran across this restaurant in an article in USA Today as one of the top 25 restaurants in the world that people make a point to go to. From appetizer to entree we could not have been more impressed. The flavors were truly amazing, the ambience fantastic and the service exceptional. A restaurant definitely worth a return visit.
I’ve lived in the Boston area for 35 years, but have never before dined at Mama Maria. Went tonight for our daughter’s birthday. Everything was wonderful. Excellent service, terrific food. We will be back soon!
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed the ambience and decor.
This was a fantastic experience. We went for my wife’s birthday. We started by splitting the figs and prosciutto. Great mixture of flavors. My wife got the NY Strip and I got the Lamb three ways (lamb chop, lamb ravioli, lamb sausage). Both plates were delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. Our server was incredibly friendly. I had forgot that I mentioned it was a birthday when making the reservation. So when I asked for the bill at the end, our server said hold on one moment and then she brought us a free tiramisu for my wife. I highly recommend this place. Th ambiance was perfect for a date. Beautiful interior and a beautiful little European looking square that the restaurant is on.
The best fine dining Italian restaurant in North End! This was our second time and everything -from the food, service to the ambiance - was 5 stars! The Halibut was so fresh & delicious and my father loved the Osso bucco! I cannot wait to return and would highly recommended this restaurant especially for those who want to celebrate special occasions. :)
