About Mama's Fish House
Mama's Fish House is a converted beach house in a coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged windows open to let in the trade winds and Polynesian artifacts and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The rooms are filled with spectacular flower arrangements and tapa print cloths cover the tables. Outdoor dining is equally exciting, and everyone enjoys watching the windsurfers performing offshore.

Mama's Fish House Ratings and Reviews
Wow, what a place. Has to be on your bucket list to do at least once. Everything down to the smallest detail was first class. Atmosphere was fantastic, food was over the top, and our waiter (Jeff) was one of the best we’ve ever had. Perfect for any special occasion.
We used to love this restaurant for years and never minded to pay the high price till this last visit. They are now serving fish and seafood from other than Hawaii and the quality is not that great. Though the service was always mediocre, it seems to be getting worse and worse each time and doesn’t justify $50-60 entree prices. Both of our entrees, venison and opakapaka, came cold and we had to send the fish back. Due to the time limit and not wanting to miss our flight, we decided to keep eating the venison instead of sending back. I guess when the restaurant has become that popular and sells out every day, they no longer need to pay attention to the details. Totally not worth the money and the most overrated restaurant on Maui:( I would recommend Spago or Ka’ana kitchen for the better service and quality.
Overall it was a great experience. Our service was excellent and we had a table right by the window with great view during a late lunch.
Quality, presentation and preparation of appetizers and entrees was outstanding. Prices for food and cocktails on the very high end. For most, it is a very special venue, easy to spend $200-300 or much more. "Go and close your eyes to the right side of the menu".
Thank you for making a special day so wonderful. The birthday card greeting was very thoughtful. Each and every staff member was warm and welcoming, and the lobster stuffed Mahi Mahi was excellent. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant along with its location can’t be beat.
We visited Maui for my parents 55th anniversary and I brought them to Mama's as our farewell dinner. The team at Mama's couldn't have been nicer with all the little touches that made it special...the congratulations note on the table, the lei for my mom and every server wished them the best! This was in addition to the great food that they thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to the Mama's team for a great evening and our final meal in Maui!
Mama’s Fish House is a memorable dining experience! It may be high end pricing but you do get great service, food, and ambiance. Our server, Chip, was friendly and helpful throughout our meal. Fish entrees were excellent and be sure to save room to share a dessert. I recommend dining in daylight hours, or at least just before sunset, to appreciate the beautiful Oceanside setting.
Amazing food, service and view! Expensive but worth the extra dollars for extra special occasion. Relaxed pace - time to really enjoy the ambiance and each course. Black Pearl dessert is extra special. Book before you travel for your best choice of dining times.
From the moment we set foot on the property we knew we were in for a great evening. Stunning view of the beach and ocean. Everyone from the greeter, valet parking, hostess, wait staff , managers and the bartenders were simply fabulous. Our experience was superb and the food was amazing! We will be back next trip to Maui!
Mama's Fish House was recommended to us by friends who had gone when they visited Maui. We decided to go there for a date night during our honeymoon and we're absolutely floored by how amazing the experience was. The staff was friendly and professional. Our server knew the menu and made great recommendations. The view was absolutely stunning and the meal was by far the best seafood meals we'd ever had!
Mama's Fish House also went the extra mile by giving us a seat with an incredible view and a personalized congratulations card.
Beyond glad we listened to our friends and went to Mama's Fish House. Will definitely recommend it to friends & family! Looking back on our honeymoon, this was one of the highlights!!
Mama's is a little on the expensive side, but worth every penny. We went there for lunch and it was already crowded. Make sure you have a reservation. Our table had an awesome view of the waves crashing on the bay. Great gardens and trees. Our waitress was superb, attentive, knowledgeable about the different fish/dishes. Busboys always clearing any used plate. The food was superb. Everything was excellent and worth the price as far as I'm concerned.
We were fortunate to get a table right next to the window facing the ocean, so the view was spectacular! We had 3 appetizers (fish collar; stuffed mushrooms and venison) which were delicious and unique. All of the food, liquor, beer and wine is very expensive, but I guess you are paying for the view and the exceptional service, as well as the superb presentation of the food. The entrees start at $56 and we didn't have entrees so I cannot comment on those. The appetizers we had were $22-25 each. Servings were not large. Mama's is definitely a spot to visit, but I wouldn't be able to afford going here too often.
This was the single best meal I have had in my life...and it's been a lengthy life. Fresh, perfectly seasoned, wonderful smells and presentation...served by a fabulous staff. The ambiance is happy and nurturing. I wish that the cost of the meal were not so high. My overall experience was positive from the initial call for a reservation. Thank you so much to your team as a whole.
We have been to Mama’s on 2 previous occasions and it is always excellent. Today did not disappoint...The Freshest Sashimi Tuna in a mixture of goodness including being served in a 1/2 of a coconut, and then Macadamia Nut encrusted MahiMahi that was stuffed with 1/2 a lobster tail....the other 1/2 of the tail was served on top of the stuffed wonder....and on the advice of our flight attendant on the always wonderful Hawaiian Airlines A330, my wife had a piece of fresh Onaga caught today. Holy Mother of Fish Houses! Delicious!!
