About Mama's Fish House
Mama's Fish House is a converted beach house in a coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged windows open to let in the trade winds and Polynesian artifacts and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The rooms are filled with spectacular flower arrangements and tapa print cloths cover the tables. Outdoor dining is equally exciting, and everyone enjoys watching the windsurfers performing offshore.

Mama's Fish House Ratings and Reviews
Mama’s is superlative! The food, the service, the setting—all are outstanding. Also consistent. We’ve never been to Mama’s when everything was not perfect. They make you feel special from start to finish.
On this trip to Maui, we dined at Mama’s twice—for lunch and dinner. For lunch we worked our way through the appetizers until we had had enough. Our waiter, Portuguese Mike, was our tour guide. We highly recommend the sashimi trio and the crispy mahemahe rolls.
With Mama’s you can’t have enough, so we booked dinner. We were celebrating our anniversary, and Mama’s treated us like royalty, including a lovely lei. For dinner we had the Tristan Island lobster tails and crab-stuffed kimpachi. Wow and wow. And don’t miss the desserts which will knock your socks off. Thanks to our waiter Eric and manager Jake for making this dinner so memorable.
As you can tell, we think the world of Mama’s. Frankly, I think it is the best restaurant in the country. And, yes, it is not cheap. But still it is a great value for the experience you get. Go and enjoy.
We've been there three times. And this was out last. Terribly overpriced!! Paying for location, I suppose, but we had better fish entrees, bigger portions, for half the price, at Hula Grill, sitting at a table right on Kaanapali Beach. I can say the same for Duke's--maybe twice as good for half the price.
Overall great restaurant but for the money you paid I would expect exceptional. We were a little disappointed that my meal had to be sent back because it was not even warm. Restaurant made a new dish and removed from the bill. I would go back but bring lots of money.....
I have always enjoyed dinner at Mama’s as well highly recommend the restaurant.
I will say that I was surprised at the prices. I normally stay in the Wailea area but am willing to drive to Mama’s for the food. Next time, I may decide to go to The Four Seasons for dinner as it is closer as well as less expensive. Just my two cents.
Everything about Mama's Fish House is superb. Your experience gets kicked off with the scenic view that makes the wait time for your reservation seem like no big deal at all. Then there's the staff, everyone from the valet team, to the hostesses, through to the wait staff are friendly and attentive. They all make sure to aid in helping your time there go off without a hitch. And the food and drinks are all better than you could expect. The prices are high, but you won't be disappointed for a split second! I would (and have) recommend(ed) this place to everyone!
We had a very good lunch at Mama's Fish House. My sister really enjoyed the Onaga dish and my off-menu vegetarian tempeh dish was delicious. Our server, James, was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The setting on Maui's North Shore was beautiful. The free valet parking was very efficient. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience.
Always an outstanding & amazing meal at Mama’s Fish House!
Never miss coming here when on Maui! Food, cocktails, service & ambience excellent! Hawaiian flowers so beautiful!
Pricey but worth the splurge!
Mama’s Stuff Fish so fresh & delicious! Ask for the coconut cake, not on the menu, amazingly light , delicate & so yummy!
Awesome experience! We got the crispy mahi mahi rolls and Mac nut crusted crab cakes for appetizers and split the stuffed mahi so we could have 2 desserts - Black Pearl and lilkoi creme brulee! Food was amazing, ambiance was great, and our server was very friendly! Definitely recommend!!
