About Mama's Fish House
Mama's Fish House is a converted beach house in a coconut grove on a secluded white sand beach. Inside, hinged windows open to let in the trade winds and Polynesian artifacts and original oil paintings decorate tropical hardwood walls. The rooms are filled with spectacular flower arrangements and tapa print cloths cover the tables. Outdoor dining is equally exciting, and everyone enjoys watching the windsurfers performing offshore.

Mama's Fish House Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at Mama’s and we enjoyed everything about our experience. After several recommendations we felt we had to go. It was amazing from the appetizers to the banana macadamia nut crisp with vanilla ice cream - truly one of the best desserts we’ve ever had anywhere. We will be dreaming of it for a long time. Not inexpensive but worth every penny.
Our server never checked in our meal while we were eating, so then re ordered our meal because he thought our ticket had been lost. He said he never saw us eat. Hmmmmm. . He was not too observant. We were seated beside the servers counter. Not the best spot. Shouldn’t happen at a high end place like this. Otherwise food was good. Too pricey for what you get though. It’s a one time experience place.
Excellent experience! Delicious food, plated beautifully. Busy restaurant so service wasn't the best, but we were on time constraint headed to airport and the server got us out in time with dessert! Recommend sashimi and lobster soup - soup was to die for! Also lolikoi chocolate mousse pearl for dessert. Wonderful Hawaiian vibes and delicious fresh caught fish with oceanfront views. Beautiful even on a rainy day. I will definitely be back if I return to Maui
When telling friends and family that the wife and I were going to be in Maui, they all had told me to go to Mama's Fish House. I was not disappointed with the suggestion. Our table had beautiful ocean views with palm trees and sandy beaches as the landscape. Our server was very knowledgeable with the menu items and every ingredient. Overall, I was VERY pleased with my meal and most definitely will be telling all of my friends that they must go to Mama's Fish House if they are in Maui.
This was our second time to Mama’s and it did not disappoint! We had a delicious meal again and the service was excellent! Their cocktails are tasty and they provided us with complimentary bread and soup to taste. We had 2 young children with us and they provided them with fancy smoothies and extra attention for dessert. Highly recommend if you haven’t tried! The view is beautiful if you’re able to get sunset seating! Although it’s pricy it’s definitely worth it!
This place lives up to the hype. Beautiful building and a private beach to wander on while waiting for your table. Our server was outstanding. Very personable and knowledgeable. When told that my wife was celebrating her birthday he took pains to make it extra special for her. This was easily our best meal while on the island. The fish was amazingly good. It is not easy to get a reservation here. You have to book way ahead. But do it. You won’t be sorry.
We heard that if you visit Maui, you simply cannot miss Mamas. I’m not sure if it was THAT good, but better than most high end restaurants we visited. Casual island atmosphere with superb and friendly service, apart from the hostess station, which was a cold experience. I had the onion soup to start. It was good but had a slightly sour flavor, not beefy, as one would expect. I attributed it to the Island onions. The stuffed fish was Mahi Mahi and was outstanding. The only thing I would have suggested is if the sauce had been on the side because it made the wonderful macadamia nut crust soggy. It was served with asparagus and about three tiny bits of potato. I think some rice would have upped the ante. My husband had filet and liked it. Not the best, but good. Our waitress was amazing. Expensive, but worth it. Make reservations well in advance.
Mama's Fish House is a Maui institution. Their seafood is all served within 24 hours of leaving the ocean. The menu will tell you who caught your meal and where. The service is impeccable from the complimentary valet parking to the well informed and attentive waiter and bus service.
The food was excellent, with creative preparation. Although one of the more expensive restaurants on Maui, we felt it was worth the price.
Fortunately, a lunch reservation was available the same day, after a bike ride down Haleakala. The service was so nice, they were even gracious to a single diner, which I don't find often. The food was absolutely top-notch, and the strong emphasis on local ingredients and people was appreciated.
