Food and wine selection and quality were fantastic! Excellent service and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
I had heard very positive reviews and we finally tried it. The service was very good and attentive, but the food was pretty average. The biggest disappointment was the short rib as the portion was less than a McDonald's Quarter Pounder. We ordered two appetizers, short rib a pasta dish and dessert, so we tried to hit all bases. I kept waiting for what I had been missing and didn't get it.
Our server seem to be new and locking a bit of experience, she couldn’t properly open a bottle of wine, other than that the food was amazing as always
I met a friend for dinner before attending a show. We were promptly seated as I had reservations. I ordered the angel hair pasta with basil sauce and a small bowl of meat sauce on the side. The sauces were delicious! I also had a house salad with the house dressing which was also delicious. Our waitress was attentive but not overpowering.
My friends and I sat at the bar & the bartender was amazing - I think her name was Beth.
Group of friends from college(Class of 76) have started quarterly gatherings. Convenient for them coming from the Lake Norman area as well as for me headed in from Monroe. Had a great conversation, great meal and never felt rushed to exit.
Great as always!
Excellent. Found this place on TripAdvisor, had a great rating and now I know why. If I'm ever in Charlotte again, I will definitely stop.
The food had amazing flavor. The Penne Vodka was excellent...just spicy enough. Was our first time there and really liked that they took reservations. The restaurant had a comfortable feel to it that made us feel like you could really relax and enjoy the food. Will be going back soon!
I absolutely love this restaurant but just felt very rushed by my wait staff. She brought our appetizer with our salad the box our salad a soon as our forks hit the table. I was there for my husbands 40th Birthday and just wanted to take my time enjoy several glasses of wine but instead we were push through on an expensive meal.
Recommended by my uber driver & truly great food. Everyone in our party (6) was very happy w/ food, atmosphere, etc.
You can never go wrong selecting Mama Ricotta's as the hands on details of management is always evident in freshness, presentation and authenticity.
Come anytime for any relaxed occasion.
What happened to Mamma Ricotta's??? The food was sub par and had zero flavor. Very disappointed.
Birthday wonderful experience great food
Had a great time on our first visit. Heard nice things and it was backed up by the service and food. Would recommend.
Visiting Charlotte. I had salmon and lemon basil mashed potatoes. Delicious!
This comment is more about Open Table than Mama Ricotta’s. OT listed that brunch would be served all day, from 9 to 5. There were several reservation spots open between 1 and 5, so we chose 1:45. In reality, the brunch was from 10 to 2, so when we arrived, most people in the restaurant were finishing up. As the buffet ran out of certain food items there were then no replacements made, since we were finishing after 2 PM. Consequently, desserts were either entirely gone, or consisted of a small number of pastries and cookies.
When I spoke to the manager about it, he confirmed that the 10-2 time was correct. When I told him that reservations on OT were available until 5PM, he was very apologetic, but indicated that they had changed the times of service with OT two weeks before.
Consequently, our Easter brunch turned out to be an incomplete and exasperating experience.
Wonderful food selection! A great brunch variety.
Extremely impressive. My husband is still talking about it ;everything was absolutely delicious. The only item that was bland was the salmon, however I decided to put it in my Greek inspired salad that was on the buffet and then it became Greek salad with salmon – so it tasted wonderful when mixed together. Also, the lemon meringue parfait was out of this world. The cannolis also the best my husband and I have ever tasted
Went for the Easter brunch. Everything was pretty good....$34 per person good? Jury is still out on that one.
Hostess seemed rude as soon as I arrived for my reservation. She had her fingers extended in front of her face so I could hardly see her face. Waiter also seemed aggressive when refilling my water, as if to try to punch me in my face by shoving his left fist holding the water pitcher in front of my face. Very rude staff and dining experience despite it being an Easter buffet. Recommend retraining staff in hospitality, god manners, and proper etiquette. Shockingly disappointed as I rarely come to Mama Ricotta's, mainly for special occasions.
Great food and service! My family and I will definitely be back!
We picked this spot because of the Trip Advisor reviews. Book early for a seat. Pollo Bianco, calamari, and braised short ribs were fantastic!
Great dining experience!! Servers are always attentive.
Amazing food! We come here every single chance we get. Pollo Romano is our of this world.
Love this place!! A must try Italian in Charlotte!
Always great! The service is efficient, personable and knowledgeable. The menu is varied and we never get bored with eating there. We go at least 3 times per month and are never disappointed
Really good food. Great time!
The food and service was excellent as usual. I ordered the copia (fish) entree, my husband had the short ribs and our friends ordered lasagna and a salmon and arugula salad. We shared calamari and Chianti. The calamari was prepared perfectly. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered and our waiter, Ben, was fantastic! We will return soon.
Absolutely outstanding service and food! One of Charlotte’s best restaurants!
The food was poor and our orders were incorrect. I would not dine here again.
Management tried to make up for the incorrect order by bringing our half-melted cheese...
Loved this place the only thing I can say sort of negative about it is that It is loud in there. Doesn't make for good conversation or romance. I will go again and again.
Great service and very accommodating! Food was very good!
Me and my husband brought his parents; my in laws here for the first time. They loved it. Even my 4 month old loved it. She was fascinated with the lights.
Mamma Ricotta’s is one of our “reliable” restaurants when we visit Charlotte. It is always consistently good food and good service and is located conveniently near uptown.
We were lucky to get a table in porch area, as noise level in main dining area was very loud. Waiter was attentive at first but did not check back when food was served and disappeared. I had to ask another staffperson for a beverage.
The food was good and portions were large.
I'd recommend for a casual group dinner, but way too loud for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
We read that this is the #1 best Italian in NC, so we had to try it. We've eaten at many good, local Italian in NC, and this is excellent! Food, service, setting, all wonderful. TRY MAMA RICOTTA!!
Ben was amazing as our server. The food was delicious as usual
Our table was ready on time as reserved. We got very good service and the food was great. Will definitely come back.
