The food was poor and our orders were incorrect. I would not dine here again.
Management tried to make up for the incorrect order by bringing our half-melted cheese...
Loved this place the only thing I can say sort of negative about it is that It is loud in there. Doesn't make for good conversation or romance. I will go again and again.
Great service and very accommodating! Food was very good!
Me and my husband brought his parents; my in laws here for the first time. They loved it. Even my 4 month old loved it. She was fascinated with the lights.
Mamma Ricotta’s is one of our “reliable” restaurants when we visit Charlotte. It is always consistently good food and good service and is located conveniently near uptown.
We read that this is the #1 best Italian in NC, so we had to try it. We've eaten at many good, local Italian in NC, and this is excellent! Food, service, setting, all wonderful. TRY MAMA RICOTTA!!
We were lucky to get a table in porch area, as noise level in main dining area was very loud. Waiter was attentive at first but did not check back when food was served and disappeared. I had to ask another staffperson for a beverage.
The food was good and portions were large.
I'd recommend for a casual group dinner, but way too loud for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
Ben was amazing as our server. The food was delicious as usual
Our table was ready on time as reserved. We got very good service and the food was great. Will definitely come back.
We love this place so much we celebrated our 25th anniversary here. The food, portions, service and ambience are all wonderful. We love the unpretentious but cozy atmosphere and the food can’t be beat. Fresh mozzarella/tomato appetizer, chicken parmigiana and pollo Bianco...all absolutely delicious. They even tailored the sauce for my husband (lemon cream since he can’t do marinara. Amazing!!)
He even commented that the salad was the best he’s ever had. One of or top favorites in Charlotte by far!
Always a great experience at Mama Ricotta’s!
Food was pretty good but then again since we moved to the Charlotte area from New York/New Jersey it’s been a challenge finding Italian food that we love. Price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive, server was very attentive. We will go back and try some other dishes on the menu.
We love mama ricotta’s. It’s always a go to option for date night or a special event. The food is consistently great with amazing service.
Excellent Service and Excellent Food Quality - I ordered a special dish and it was done perfectly.
Once again, a great meal, courteous, friendly and excellent service! Food is delicious!
A great time all around.
We took our two young children for an early dinner on Saturday night. We made a reservation, hoping we could walk in and be seated since kids can be a ticking time bomb in public spaces. We try to be very courteous of those around us. We had to wait 20 minutes for our table. It was a cold evening so we couldn't wait outside, and space was tight trying to stay out of everyone's way. We were finally seated and then waited 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were there. The manager kindly offered to expedite our kids' food once we ordered, which was nice. They did get the kids' order wrong, but by that time wasn't worth addressing. We just split the one entrée and they were happy. Our food was delicious as usual. Lesson learned, it may be easier to order out next go round or go earlier to give ourselves more time.
Our experience was good. It was a little loud at times, but there were a lot of people . The Caesar salad was good as well as the goat cheese dip. The entree that I got was the pollo Romano . I thought it was good but felt it was lacking something. Maybe a bit more tomato basil sauce. Overall it was a healthy portion. I am a big eater, and didn’t even put a dent it. The spaghetti noodles were cooked perfectly. My wife really liked her chicken parmigiana. The price was very good for as much food that we got. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Italian.
Overall experience was good. The calamari was outstanding. My friend enjoyed her meal as well. There were parts of my lasagna that needed a steak knife. Perhaps the cheese was over cooked. When I informed my waiter he simply suggested putting in the fridge because all Italian food taste good the next day. Well alrighty then. Lol. My friend enjoyed it as it was her birthday and that what was most important.
I Love this place!
The Service is impeccable and the food is divine.
Expensive ($53 for 2 people with no alcohol and with tip!) but good. Louder inside than I would have expected.
Disappointed in the food, average at best. I believe that the place has slipped.
Two average meals in a row ,we will not be back
Food is always good!
Every time I’m back in NC I crave Mama Ricotta’s garlic rolls, ravioli and tiramisu. With so many new food options in Charlotte, this establishment is still one of my favorite options and a Queen City staple. I do recommend a reservation, especially at dinner time.
Food was good. Good size portions.
Wine list needs work. Would rate the wine fair.
Need to add some better wines to the list by the glass and bottle...especially pinot noirs.
It was nice but we were right next to a door to an outdoor patio so it was cold at times. Food was wonderful though!
Waited 15 minutes, even with reservation.
Has been excellent for years! Still fantastic! Frank has the recipe for success!
The meat sauce was outstanding. Good service and convenient locations.
Good food & slow service (moderately busy Sunday night). Approximately 40 mins between order and food being served. Staff confused about orders in surrounding tables (food brought to wrong table multiple times).
Delicious every time, love the Nutella pie!
Their Chopped Salad is wonderful
Took my wife on a date here and it was more than worth it to drive down from Concord. The food was excellent and even though it was a busy evening, our server was spot on. We sat outside where they have a very nice patio. The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.
Always a great option. Everything on the menu is fantastic and service is a1. They are very busy so be sure to use open table to reserve a table.
The food here is very, very good. Some of the best Italian I've ever had. My only critique would be that the server rushed us too much during dinner and it was very unsettling. After dinner we ordered dessert and before the dessert even came, we were handed the check. Mama Ricotta's can do better than that.
The food is amazing service was great wonderful date night
This is my favorite place in Charlotte for Italian fare. The service is top notch and food quality is great. The prices are reasonable for the high quality food as well.
Always good food. We love how you can share food. Great Italian food in Charlotte!
We waited until Saturday to have our annual Valentine's Day dinner at Mama Ricotta's. As always, the food was delicious. We sat out on the covered patio and it was so nice! The fire was going and it made for a romantic dinner. Our server Paige was wonderful!!
Food was excellent
