Great food and friendly service
Old-fashioned family-owned Italian, good food and good prices. Excellent pre-theater choice.
Problem with my order. They fixed it right away. Great red sauce. I could drink it!
Love this place. Waiter was extraordinarily personable.
Reservations not honored. Waited almost 25 minutes for our table. Rushed through dinner in order to make a show. Distressing.
Always great food and service!
A great Hells Kitchen neighborhood find!
This restaurant is a neighborhood staple and the food is always good. It can get crowded, but we hit a quiet day and it was very pleasant.
Quaint little Italian restaurant in Hell's Kitchen with an extensive menu of pastas and a wicked sangria
The food was not really tasty, but very expensive! And be careful when receiving the bill cause they put on 30$ Extra for the service, without informing or asking!
The food was good and solid value, but the reason I give it a high rating is because of the service. I received the phone call that my father is dying while I was at the restaurant. The server was so thoughtful- giving me as private a place as possible to have the phone conversation, then giving me a stiff drink and checking in with me at the table. The empathy and humanity shown was way beyond. Decent food, great value and beautiful, wonderful humans.
It is a good place to go when it’s not busy. It was disappointing that they wanted to kick us out when we weren’t even finished with our food. They forgot to put the candle in the dessert for the birthday girl before serving it. Overall the food is good, but service could be better.
The restaurant was packed which is a good sign. Our server talked me out of the Vodka Pasta to a chicken dish where the chicken was well over cooked. Thus, the food was subpar.
The place was very crowded and waited long time for food. Food was average. Would not go back again given the dining experience.
This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Our server was attentive and the food was delicious.
Went to dinner post-theater (At 11 PM) so the restaurant was relatively quiet. I appreciated the the menu stated if an appetizer was enough to share. The seasonal vegetables over greens was delicious. I had the chicken eggplant rolatini parmigiana. It was delicious. My one complaint is that the entrees came out very quickly, while we were still working on the appetizer. Water glasses were kept filled. Prices were very good.
Food was very good and considering you are in Manhattan prices were moderate. Wine list also very good they were very attentive and never tried to upsell
My all time favorite brunch spot in Hells Kitchen! Our server, Timea is always very attentive and personable! Would definitely recommend!
Great food and outstanding service. We love the place, but beware the prices are pretty high. We spent about $65 per person after tip, with no wine or drinks.
DTM is consistently good, the food, ambiance and service. I've been a patron for years.
Mama Mia W44 is a gem. The food is delicious, the people who work there are lovely, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it often.
My only negative is my group of 4 felt rushed. The servers where taking plates and glasses almost as soon as you put your fork down to take a break.
Lentil soup had very few lentils & mashed potatoes were instant from a box. Tables too close together. Front door didn't close all the way so cold air was constantly blowing in.
The food is incredible, especially the pasta. Better meatballs than my grandmother used to make, and that is saying something!
Great place to eat. Food was wonderful atmosphere was nice
Perfect experience. My third time back to Mama’s from Georgia. It is “our place” and I got engaged there this week! Always the best experience!
Had to wait 40 minutes past our reservation time. Just glad we weren’t one of the many tables trying to get to a show.
Great service and amazing food!
Food was amazing. Authentic Italian Great atmosphere
The restaurant is very small like many New York restaurants but the food is absolutely delicious!! We had the lasagna, gnocchi, chicken Parmesan, and the tortellini and loved it all!
Great find, the spaghetti and meatballs were outstanding.
Great little place, cozy and warm with a terrific bar tender. Food was good, service with a smile and we enjoyed our dinner. The only problem was the long wait. It was the Saturday before Christmas and the place was packed. The awesome bar tender took very good care of us, even bringing us bread and butter to much on while we waited. He made the long wait a very pleasant experience.
Great place to go before theatre! Service and food are great and relaxed . We dined in the back room and it is a bit quieter there but we've had great service and fun in front room as well! We'll be back! Very good mushroom ravioli and chicken piccata which we ordered with angel hair pasta instead of potatoes!
Excellent food and service. Hazelnut dessert is a must.
Mamma Mia’s was amazing! The ambiance was great! The food was even better! The staff are very friendly and efficient! We will be back!
First impression was the hostess and she appeared to be on drugs in my opinion (slurred speech, talking slow, eyes rolled up). Our waitress was so-so. She wasn’t that friendly in the beginning, and I felt like she didn’t pay as much attention to us as the other customers because I was with my 10 year old and I look young myself (I’m 35 but look younger). I felt she was paying more attention to the other guests who were older, maybe she thought they would leave her a bigger tip, I don’t know. But towards the end she did give me directions to where I asked. I had penne vodka and it was good, it wasn’t great, but it was good. I also had an organic side salad that was the most boring salad ever, literally lettuce and 3 slices of tomato (house dressing was good though!) My son had spaghetti and meatballs, he enjoyed the spaghetti but did not like the meatballs. I tried a meatball and it was eh, not that great, I’ve definitely had better. With ALL the dining options in NYC, I probably would not go back.
Always dependable. Food always good. Service always good. They will see that you have a lovely experience whether you have all evening or are on your way quickly. All issues get resolved quickly. Loved it.
Was here on a Saturday night. Had to wait 25 minutes for a 6:15 reservation. Was very crowded and noisy. Tight seating.. The service and food were excellent . Highly recommended. Will come back on a weekday night.
We had a delicious meal. I love the coziness if this restaurant and staff was very kind and accommodating. We ran late in traffic and they were able To shift our reservation 30 minutes later so we didn’t miss it. I am very grateful thank you!
I have been going to Mama Mia for years. It is thebest value for good food in New York City. The best Brunch and lots of choices for Dinner. The staff goout of their way to make you happy.
Good food. Pasta is really tasty. Very attentive server.
