My experience there was ok. I wasn’t super impressed. The workers were very nice and attentive. My food (Lasagne) was mediocre. Very mushy with no real flavoring in my opinion.
Experience was horrible! Food was awful! The owner was our waitress and she was cursing right next to us the entire time we were seated, and proceeded to yell at staff members. The food was not good and actually made us sick.
The food was good and so was the service. The staff worked well together and the experience was nice. Mama Mia’s is a great local restaurant.
Great food and decent drinks. The Chicken Parm in particular was quite good.
We even got to meet one of the family owners, (Conni?), And she was very gracious in her conversation with us.
Wonderful ambience and food. The bar was nice also, Where we started and waited for our guests arrival
Delious Food, Ambience and Music! Superb will go again!
Such a delightful experience!!
The food was superb. Excellent service all under the watchful eye of the owner and founder herself. This is what NYC dining is all about.
Great food and great service.
Warm, friendly, reasonably priced, good food. A top choice in the theater district
Very nice vibe with good food, great wait staff and excellent live jazz.
Have visited this restaurant many times over more than 20 years and it never disappoints. They also still have my favorite Pasta del Giorno dish on the menu from their early days. Rigatoni pasta with sweet sausage and spinach in a delicious garlicky sauce. Excellent! Great location, welcoming staff.
Excelent food, great service, good location. I will repeat next time in NY.
Thought we were going to get exceptional Italian food, and it was mediocre at best. Disappointed.
After reading good reviews this was a big disappointment. Mama Mia missed the mark on many accounts. I had high hopes for a good traditional Italian meal and rather it all fell apart. To start the service was pleasant but they were not attentive. I had to stack our used plates and hand them to a passing waiter. There was no flow to the meal. I was constantly told….it’s coming. The food was very hit or miss. The fried calamari was delicious. The Cesar salad was sad. It amounted to diced romaine lettuce with a teaspoon of Parmesan cheese. That’s it!!! For the $9.50 you are charged you got 50 cents worth of romaine. The bread basket equally sad. For the three of us we got four half inch slices of Italian bread with a single pat of butter. I had to ask for more bread and was given the same dour inch long sliver of Italian bread. And not even warm!!! We ordered the fruit de mare with Arabiata sauce. I wish the server said how spicy it was going to be. One of my guests also ordered it and couldn’t even eat it. Then to top it all off we ordered desert. We ordered grandmother cake….then we’re told it was sold out. We ordered fruit tart….then we were told it too was sold out. Third we ordered Tira Misu…..guess what???? Sold out. After three attempts I asked what was left over? The server suggested a peach sorbet and a mango sorbet. I kid you not they came out and were rock solids that you couldn’t even use the spoon. The server then took them in to the kitchen to the heat to soften them up. They tasted awful!!! Needless to say I doubt I would ever return to Mama Mia nor can I ever recommend it as a consistently good Italian eatery. Go to Tony’s di Napoli instead. The food is superior. The staff remembers you are there and the
Restrooms don’t open up to seated tables as they do at Mama Mia.
Great food! Cute place. Easy place to get to and eat.
Great food! Very friendly staff, felt very at home. Great Italian, family friendly restaurant with none of the extra fluff you don't need.
The service and the food was atrocious!
Great brunch! Excellent and friendly service.
It was a great dining experience! My third time dining here, and they are consistent. The owner is friendly and personable!
The service was non existent. Our appetizers and drinks were gone for over 30 minutes before a waiter even looked in our direction. In 2 hours I could only get my hands on two glasses of wine despite my glass being empty for the majority of the time we were there. I would have had 4 or 5 glasses and dessert but I didn't have 6 hours to spend.
Mama Mia is our favorite! Food and service is always outstanding! Rafael always makes our experience the best!
This my go-to Italian restaurant when I am in Manhattan. Never disappointed.
My favorite neighborhood Italian spot! I highly recommend Mama Mia
Service was so incredibly slow. We had to get up and find a waiter/waitress for everything. We sat down and weren’t asked our drink order in almost an hour!
Food was very okay. Was not pleased with the experience at all
This is one of The best restaurants for homemade Italian food and was the first place we bee-lined to after we were fully vaccinated. We drove over an hour to get there just to be able to savour their amazing sauce. They also make good drinks too, I recommend the Prada Pear martini. We’re so glad they are able to stay in business and hope they’re around for years to come !!
Our reservation was for 10pm, we called to confirm and they said to arrive at 9:45pm. We did what we were told... we didn’t get sat until 10:30pm. It was valentine day so with that in mind and the level of business at that time, it is safe to say our experience was fine.
It was our 18th wedding anniversary and the food was AMAZINGGG. The whole group loved it, we are still taking about how great the food was. Thank you so much for a great experience.
730 reservations, was not seated until 8pm. Waited until 830 to be approached by a server who finally took our drink orders. Waited about 30 minutes for our food in which they gave us the wrong order. The staff then took the plates away from us and brought them to the other table that ordered what they gave us. Then waiting another 15 minutes for our food.
What a special place. From the adorable decor to the amazing staff, you feel like family when you’re there. We will be back!
We had a blast!
The food was very good. Unfortunately with the Covid guidelines and no indoor dining they were not heavily staffed (understandably) so it took much longer than we had anticipated to order and be served. But the staff was wonderful and apologetic and the food was great. They do not take reservations even though it appears as they do through open table so just know that in advance. It is first come first served. We were lucky as they had a table for us when we got there. Also dress warm if it is winter months.
Always delicious and good service. The staff worked so hard on a cold rainy night to serve us outside. Will always come here when we visit NYC.
Im from Miami and i tried this restaurant back in February when visiting and It was so delicious, i had to come back! Highly recommend!
Great food and friendly service
Old-fashioned family-owned Italian, good food and good prices. Excellent pre-theater choice.
Problem with my order. They fixed it right away. Great red sauce. I could drink it!
Love this place. Waiter was extraordinarily personable.
Reservations not honored. Waited almost 25 minutes for our table. Rushed through dinner in order to make a show. Distressing.
