Horrible service. Food was fair at best.
Great place to take the kiddos after a long day at the park. Very incredible service, great food, and wonderful experience.
Excellent lasagna. Table side singers are a little loud, but very entertaining.
Second time we were here and the experience was as the first time .. incredible. The staff is great and attentive. The food is excellent and the entertainment is superb. Love the singers and the old world charm of Italy that the restaurant has to offer. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Orlando .
Everything was great from beginning to end!
Great meal and awesome atmosphere. Great as a family dinner or a date for two.
The food was very good, and the service was excellent. It is a very nice restaurant, but it is in a hotel at the Universal Resort, so of course there is no real dress code. I definitely recommend the filet and the bruschetta appetizer. The Italian singer and guitar player were a fun bit of ambiance, too.
Had a great meal with great service. Would recommend it to anyone.
This is a great place to enjoy a great meal! The atmosphere is enjoyable with a nice person going around and singing. The food is excellent. The service is great. Take the boat down the canal from Universal City Walk, it’s so worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service from our server Mike, great attention to detail and the food was very good, we had the chicken Alfredo and the chefs special rack of lamb. We also had a nice bottle of red and we even got a complimentary birthday cannoli. Amazing from start to finish
Wow ! The best restaurant on the Universal complex!!! Excellent service. Fantastic wine list. Cozy ambiance for us to sit for 2 plus hours and eat and drink and have the most wonderful time with our daughters!!!! Never pushed. Food extraordinarily extraordinary! Dessert incredible. Loved the comfortable feeling of being in a home setting.
Great food, excellent service. Live music is a nice touch
Great homemade food. Outstanding service from Calvin. So much better than expected.
We were looking forward to hearing the opera singers but apparently they are out on the plaza from 7:30-8 p.m. in March. By the time they came back in, we were ready to leave. The food was very good, service very attentive, but we were extremely shocked by the price of our martinis which cost $20 each! They charged us extra for blue cheese olives which was never mentioned by the waiter ($4 extra per drink) and the drink itself was $16. Much too much for a gin martini.
As a family, we were celebrating being together for a fun vacation where there was not 8” of snow on the ground! This was the single best restaurant meal and atmosphere that I have had in many years. I can’t say enough about it...and we have eaten in Italy! Staff was warm and attentive, decor looked like my husband’s grandmother’s house (a cozy good thing) and the food was comforting and delicious.
Food was fantastic! Ambiance was great. Would recommend this restaurant!
Food was excellent. So good,we went two nights in a row. The guys that serenaded the tables were great too
Dreadful overpriced tasteless food. An insult to Italian cuisine. Avoid at all costs!
Excellent. Very good service and hospitality. I felt like I was in Italy
My whole family loved this restaurant!! My son loved the table side music. The food was amazing and our server Erik was very attentive. The next time we visit the area we will definitely be back.
Overrated. There are better itailian places in Central Florida at a fraction of the price but if you're stuck at a hotel it will do. Dont order the salmon and shrimp.
Great service, very family friendly. Good wine recommendation. Bruschetta Burrata was the best dish, burrata so fresh on a thick slice of toasted bread. Good balance of balsamic and greens, crunch from the greens and the toast layered textures nicely with the smoothness of the burrata. Caprese pretty standard. The bread, butter, and oil were a step above standard fare. Garlic in the bread and oil was a great touch. Bread was warm, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, pleasant. Bistecca filet was executed well, medium rare was perfect color. Cut, color, texture, and flavor were very good. Wild mushrooms went very well with the dish and were again a step above the typical portable o or shiitake. Mashed potatoes had a smoky flavor added that was a bit heavy handed but not an off note. Shrimp scampi appetizer was done well, good garlic butter flavor, not too greasy and not over cooked. Desserts were decent. Cannoli was ok but not great. Hard to find a truly good cannoli. Tiramisu was tasty and of good consistency. Rose wine from Provence was light, subtle, balanced, gorgeous color. Lightness was welcome compliment to the heavy flavors of the steak. Service was very attentive and helpful. Also nice about the children sho were decently well behaved but still a handful. Loved the accordion player and singers, tenor in particular was tremendous. Their music truly added to the occasion and did not overshadow or take away from the rest of the experience at all. Their presence elevated the ambiance of the establishment.
Appetizers and Entrees were delicious!
Our only complaint was the 35 minute wait between appetizers and the entrees. I realize that we sat out on the patio on a beautiful evening, however that was too long of a wait. I don't know if it was a kitchen problem or that our very pleasant server did not want to rush us.
When my wife and I are in Orlando, we get used to go by boat from the City Walk to the Portofino Bay to have a romantic dinner.
The Mama Della's fullfield our expactations once more.
Excellent as always. Compliments to the chef for preparing a beloved item that is off menu for 4 people at our table. Service was great as always
We had a great experience at Mama Della’s while staying at Loews Portofino hotel. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was great and prices were generally what you would expect at a theme park resort. The bread they give before the meal was excellent. That was our favorite part of the meal and we are still talking about it: rosemary bread and bread with garlic baked inside it. We had the gnocchi which was very good. Food was brought straight out from the kitchen staff and felt very special. They even split our dish ahead of time for us. The best part was the live entertainment. I’m sure it changes, but our night it was a man playing guitar and a woman singing mostly Italian songs. They went table to table doing requests. It really made the night special. The following night we went to Bice (another Italian restaurant on the proprerty) and we were disappointed. It was more expensive but the food was not as good and there was not any entertainment when we went. We left wishing we had gone to Mama Della’s again instead.
We were at Universal Studios for the weekend and stayed at Portofino. Dinner at Mama Della’s was excellent. Service was excellent. Pricing was reasonable. Would definitely eat there again if back for Universal.
This place is overall amazing, and I don’t say that about many places.
Mediocre food on all fronts except for the bread. The olive oil dip for the bread was tasteless. In fact most of the food was uninspired on the taste front and that’s hard to do with Italian!
We were here on vacation. Great wine list and choice of traditional dishes. Food just okay, but service and ambiance makes it worth the trip. Plates are more than enough to share. Live music adds a special touch.
One of the best meals we've ever had. Atmosphere was beautiful and though entree service took longer than usual it was well worth the wait. They were also very flexible and attentive to dietary tastes and restrictions. Basically customized our dinners. Loved the experience.
Great food with a lot of options. Our server was outstanding and made great recommendations. Definitely a good experience and worth a return trip. Highly recommend for those doing a Universal trip.
Saved our Valentine's Day reservation for us when we were delayed due to traffic and kitchen was super-prompt in feeding us under a big time crunch. Top notch staff!
The food and atmosphere at Mama Della's is consistently outstanding. I've eaten there many times over the years and it never fails to provide fantastic food and outstanding service!
Not our first visit and definitely will not be our last!! A little on the pricey side, but no more than I expected. For special occasions, perfect!!
Excellent service from the minute we walked in the door.
From the Lobby greeter to the table service and the music provided at each table was absolutely wonderful.
The food was exceptional.
Everyone at Mama Dellas truly made you feel welcome.
Fabulous musical entertainment, and amazin lasagna!
Very nice restaurant - the tableside music was a definite highlight. Food was good. Only knock is alcohol prices were ridiculous, so we opted to stay dry (it is cheaper to drink in the actual theme parks!). Overall, if you're looking for the one decent and not quick serve meal at Universal, it's a good place to go.
Everything was wonderful! Just be prepared for loud live music from the roaming Italian band.
