Mama Della's Ristorante at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Meh. Not the best. The hook is they have three guys roaming the place singing table side songs. The guitarist is very very nice but that's not my bag so if it's not yours, beware. Chicken parm was serviceable, but nothing special. I will say the meatballs and spaghetti were good.
Overall, it's an OK place but you'll easily find better.

My daughter suggested Mama Della's for my birthday while we were staying at Portofino Bay. It was an excellent choice! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. The roaming singers were such a special touch. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious that it was hard to decide what to choose. The food was fantastic, as was the attention to detail by our server Yousef. We will be back soon!
Excellent food and Outstanding live music experience. I’ve never liked strolling minstrels at past restaurants - maybe because live and loud doesn’t mean good. I realize now what an amazing experience it could be. The baritone warmed my soul. Highly recommend the lasagna and the carbonara! We look forward to going back.
Had delicious Caesars salad before meal. Was a bit expensive at $17 for 2. I had spaghetti and meatballs. Excellent choice as the 3 meatballs were very big and substantive — made of 3 meats with ricotta cheese. My wife had eggplant parmigiana which was also great. Before the meal we had fresh bread with delicious olive oil. Great ambiance here. The location of this restaurant at Loew’s is charming!! All in all a nice experience even if a bit expensive.
Booked through Opentable and we were seated straight away on arrival. Nice menu and service was excellent. Lasagne was superb and the entry price prosecco was very good. We enjoyed the live music but our two teenage daughters didn't. Overall a nice meal and evening.
One of the best meals we had on our entire Universal/Disney trip, and we didn't have to make reservations six months in advance like Disney! ;) Eric, our server, was so kind and helpful. We had the special, which was a lobster ravioli that was out of this world, and the Gnocci that was melt-in-your-mouth awesome. It was lovely sitting outside, but beware it is super loud during the opera singing (6:30-7:00). The singer was incredible, but they are projecting over the bay, so it is quite loud under the speaker.
This is our second time eating at Mama Della's and, just like the first time, the experience was one to remember. Both visits have been to celebrate special occasions and we will continue to make a tradition out of it. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the staff has made us feel so special time after time. We love Mama Della's!
My friend and I had an exceptional time while dining at Mama Della’s Ristorante, the staff was so well mannered and polite I felt like a queen at my own dinner table. Authentic Italian food I have grown to love and and love more now after eating at Mama Della’s Ristorante. We sat outside on the patio and loved every minute of our dinner. Everyone should experience one dinner at Mama Della’s, they won’t regret it!!!
This was my second visit to this restaurant as the food and ambiance is amazing. Staff acknowledged we had been there before and thanked us for returning which I felt was a nice touch. However, this booking was to celebrate our wedding anniversary which I had mentioned on our booking but was not acknowledged by any staff member which I did find rather upsetting.
We had wine and dessert during our first experience. Our server Lindsay was fantastic, funny, and attentive! The tiramisu and chocolate molten cake were wonderful. We will return very soon to try the chef specials. Table side risotto.....looked amazing. Pricing is a bit high, but for the decor, atmosphere, service and being a resort restaurant, it was in ball park with most similar restaurants. I felt like I was in Mama Della's home. See you real soon.
