Delicious, vibrant, full of mezza options for both vegetarians and omnivores. Great for a meet up with colleagues, but there were also cozy dates happening around us. Highly recommended.

Good food in a Middle Eastern themed restaurant. Baba ganouj was excellent-smoky and rich. Kebabs nicely done. We’d go back or take out.

This restaurant is a gem. It tastes like someone's grandmother is in the kitchen cooking with love -- just for you! The waiters are wonderful with recommendations. You can have easy conversations, as the room is quiet with fitting music. I love everything about it!

Parking is hard to find. Therefore, you should take Lyft and not have to worry. The food is good. Service is wonderful. Love the middle eastern decor.

I chose this spot because i thought it was vegetarian friendly. It was.

This is a Palestinian- Lebanese type restaurant with strong ties to early 20th century recipes.

The meets were succulent, especially the chicken dishes and the lamb. The Beef, was a bit of a miss. Salads were exceptional, especially the house salad in the appetizer section

You could easily drive or walk past this restaurant which pops up in a residential area on Calvert. The service is warm and welcoming and it has the feel of a true family restaurant. There is alot on the menu and groups could easily choose to share the many smaller plates instead of ordering an entree. Our party of four had three "appetizers" and each of us had an entree, which was more than enough food. The kebabs were outstanding and the lamb shank portion was enough for two. We couldn't resist the "baklawa" and then the server brought out two more desserts as his treat! They were all delicious. Everyone left happy. No one left hungry.

My husband, Jeff, and I were in Washington DC visiting our son who was there for the summer. Matt had eaten at Mama Ayesha's and loved it, so we decided to try it out. First, the outside of the building is fantastic, with an astounding mural featuring Mama Ayesha standing with all the former presidents from Ike to Barack! The decor inside is also beautiful -- Moroccan rather than Syrian. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. After we finished and said our goodbyes, we were walking down the street when my phone rang. It was the restaurant telling us that Jeff had left his credit card at the table! All in all, you can't get any better than that! I recommend it highly!

I came here with my family while they were visiting D.C. We were looking for a middle eastern restaurant as I have been incredibly missing home cooked food. Words cannot do justice in explaining the hospitality and warmth of the staff, starting from the owner, to the waiters and even chef. One of the Egyptian chefs talked to me and assured me that if I asked for any dish regardless if it's not on the menu, he'd prepare it for me. His kind words and warm smile left me teary & looking forward to my next visit. Amazing overall!

Aside from the fact that after I told the waiter that we needed more time to look over the menu, and he responded, "I'll wait", and stood next to our table with his pad in hand staring at us as we looked over the menu, we had a great experience. Food was exceptional. Decor was charming. Would eat there again.

This was our first experience with Palestinian cuisine. It was all delicious! The waiter was helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations. The portions were generous and we even had some left to take home.
Parking is a little tricky since this is a popular area with lots of neighborhood apartments nearby. This neighborhood is beautiful with lots of historic row houses and large trees.
I'm looking forward to eating here again on my next trip to DC.

Mama's provides reliably good Mideast regional fare. My first meal there in 1965 was a great introduction to a career in the Arab world. Last visit (5/16) we shared a dish of hummus with meat. Mireille then had the aubergine with ground beef. I had the mixed grill. All washed down with an excellent quality arak. Basically Lebanese/Palestinian comfort food. Always a treat.

Went to Mama Ayrsha's for friend's special birthday. The restaurant had been remodeled and updated since we both were there. It was very pretty, comfortable with wonderful middle eastern music piped in.1 I had lamb chops with mashed potatoes and salad which was delicious. One thing, I had asked for the salad with dressing on the side. It arrived with dressing and it seems to have put off the waiter a bit to bring a replacement salad. All in all we had an enjoyable and delicious evening.
