We found this little hidden gem and now we went twice in a row.
The happy hour is SO GOOD - sit outside right on the Riverwalk.
Delicious burgers - great atmosphere.
Excellent Happy Hour menu.
Took forever to get food both appetizers and main
Bar area was great and bartender was awesome. Got seated and took forever to get greeted and drinks. Then placed order and I got the lobster Oscar and the lobster was sour, so sent back. My wife has no choice but to eat her steak and the potatoes that we are sharing so they don’t get cold. The manager came and saw us and apologized and said they would bring out new potatoes so I would have fresh with my steak, keeping in mind my wife is done. Well they brought out my new steak and I will say it was cooked perfect and tasted great. Manager never came and asked about how my new steak was nor ever brought me new sides. I strongly do not recommend. This was our anniversary dinner and honestly it was ruined. It will be Berns next time, where we have been several times. Just thought we would try something different. Malio’s came recommended from a friend. Not a good experience .
Outstanding Happy Hour weekdays. The drinks and the food were incredible. I highly recommend the burgers. The staff is super friendly!
The food was excellent, between the 4 of us we had steak, lobster tails, and pasta. All were excellent! We were celebrating a birthday, the waitress brought us an eloquently decorated desert that said Happy Birthday in chocolate. Our friend was thrilled.
Food was not hot.
Dirty dishes not cleared.
Ambiance not great.
Always have a great experience when dining at Malio’s. I keep coming.
Malio's has captured the panache of the former Malio's and raised the game to compete with the plethora of new competition in the Tampa market. The menu offers a variety of items and my experience is that each is done extraordinarily well. It seems at least to me that food; from the quality of the product to the skills of a demanding chef, comes first. Service is as good as I have experienced. It seems that if you are local you will always see friends at Malio's and if you are visiting you will be treated like a frequenter. Try it and order what you like on the menu and you'll more than likely agree that it is at or very near the top of food offerings in this market.
The food and the service was outstanding. I went two days in a row. I had the Filet Mignon and the New York strip and they were excellent. The sides were great the bread was extremely tasty.
I highly recommend it!
First time there, the whole experience from pre dinner drinks, the meal and service, AWESOME, Off the Charts Fantastic.
Good steakhouse. Quiet discreet location if desired not much of a view because of building construction. Had a great cut of meat but the al a carte sides always kill me when they charge $46 for a ribeye. Hate to play comparisons but for same price Berns would have thrown in salad, French onion soup, baked potatoe, and a fresh vegetable.
Just the facts.
Great classic dining.
Party of 4 this past Saturday. Prime Rib and Delmonico were flavorful and tender. The sea bass was firm and fresh. The price for our meals was fair. We for sure will come back. The only negative was the coffee, it was bitter.
Overall, a great meal and dining experience! Although on the higher priced side of things, portions were large and quality was excellent. Only downside was that most of the food seemed excessively salty.
The portions have radically changed for the worse and I did no bring my magnifiers to be able to see my steak. This has been one of my favorite restaurants in tampa for over 20 years and I’m really disappointed.
Server brought our food and never came back. Ordered wine with dinner we never got. Had to go ask another server for our bill. Food is very good but our service was terrible. 😠
Daniel the server was outstanding! One of the best servers I have experienced in a while.
Incredible date environment and beyond incredible food. Literally the best steak I have EVER put in my mouth!!!
Always a great experience, and one of our favorite places to dine out.
Food and service excellent. Lot of noise coming from the bar area which is adjacent to the dining area.
My husbands steak was rare not medium rare like he ordered. The food was very tasteful but not as warm as it could have been. We love dining at Ruth Chris because their steaks typically are served sizzling hot as well as their sides.
This is a great restaurant but the only thing I would advise for the owners is that they invest in some sound proofing. I had a business meeting in the main dining area and the five of us could barely hear one another.
Greeter was rude when I requested to move tables. I was meeting a client for the first time and she sat us at a very intimate table for two. The waiter on the other hand was beyond fantastic- he even went down to grab my guest out of the check in line.
The wait staff was incredibly polite, courteous, and knowledgeable. We were seated immediately. The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced, considering this is a high-end steakhouse. Would absolutely recommend Malio's to others.
The service and wait staff were excellent. We had a wonderful meal
All loved it. Wait staff so nice
Good to get there early when not noisy
My favorite restaurant in Tampa, period. It's an annual tradition for us to come here for my birthday oh, and we usually have a pretty big group. Malio's is tremendous at all aspects of the dining experience, truly an amazing place. As far as the food goes, I traditionally stick to the filet, but every year more and more people from my group order the sea bass. Apparently it's the best that any of them have ever had.
Our experience was ok. The only thing we really hated was that they stuck us at a table that looked outside directly at an outdoor restroom. So all we could see were the ppl coming and going from the bathroom. Our table was also directly next to where the servers ring in food so we were constantly being nudged by servers and food runners coming to and fro. The food was fantastic but we didn’t get to enjoy the restaurant, as we were stuck in a corner where a table probably shouldn’t be. I was hoping that getting a table a month in advance would get us a better view of the restaurant or outside— especially for the price tag.
Valet parked and attended a play at the Stratz. They got us out on time to walk the few blocks to the theater.
This was our second dinner there. The food was delicious and the service was great. I am so glad we found this place and we will definitely be back.
Amazing anniversary dinner. We are currently avoiding sweets and specifically noted so on our reservation to avoid the traditional desert plate celebration. The hostess and server presented us with complimentary cocktails as a congratulations! The burrata, Delmonico, prime rib, baby portobello mushrooms and grilled asparagus were all phenomenal! The server got us in and out as requested but still managed to make it feel like a very personable experience as she connected with us at every opportunity.
The service was excellent. The prime rib and filet were cooked perfectly. Sides were delicious. A great dining experience.
The only tro was it was drafty on the second floor.
The service and food was excellent
Food was excellent, as was the service. It's just so darn loud in there. You can hardly hear people across your own table.
We choose Malio’s because of the location and easy walk to the Straz. We were attending Hamilton and the restaurant was obviously expecting a full house and busy due to the circumstances. They seemed to be well staffed. The hostess staff and our waiter were wonderful. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. The food was ok. My husband had a ny strip and I had the ahi tuna. Both were fine not extraordinary. We split crab cakes as an appetizer. They were moist with fresh crab (shell included) and pleasant. We shared two sides - the jalapeño corn was full of corn silk which was disappointing and the baked potato was not completely cooked. We also split the brownie dessert and it was very good and quite generous. A few small things might have vastly improved our meal. No salt and pepper was offered and the potato could have really used it. Spoons were presented on our expresso saucers but no sweetners were offered. Not sure if I would return.
The meal was wonderful, service was good, ambiance was cool and institutional. Table facing cement wall with a skinny metal framed window, like eating in the far corner of a warehouse.
Great place for a special occasion. Pricey, but worth it. Best Prime Rib I've ever eaten.
The food was excellent but the staff was so so. We had reservations for 4 but ended up with an extra. The hostess was really snooty about it and said they could seat us outside. That was fine because the restaurant was loud. However outside seating is really an after thought - no decorations, dim lighting, we felt like we were placed at the loser table. The outside servers were awesome however and they did a nice job helping us have fun.
