    Pro: I was VERY pleased to see that they honored my note about patio seating; with the MAJORITY of Open Table reservations I've made in the past year, there has been some seating issue upon my arrival that did not honor my request, so I am very grateful for this at Malbec. Pro: The spinach empanadas are amazing! Con: The sides are extremely expensive. Really, $11 for potatoes or veg? Even though they say they are for 2 ppl.

    Made a reservation for our anniversary to be seated in the main dining area. On arrival for our reservation we were told there was only seating outside which we did not want considering it was quite cold. Our next option was to be seated in some dining room that was not connected to the restaurant. The room had no ambiance and smelled of cleaner. Last option, was to sit at the bar. We agreed to it. We were sat in a corner wedged between another couple and the water refill. Not a romantic experience. Other tables were open in the main dining room but they didn’t want to seat us there because they said it was going to fill up later with other reservations they had. We decided to leave and they seemed to not care at all. No apology no offer to try and accommodate us. Pretty sad response. Bummed because we have ate here before and had a great meal which is why we choose to return on our anniversary. I don’t believe we would come again or recommend this restaurant. We ended up going to the Arbour nearby and they were very kind making the dining experience nicer knowing that it was our anniversary.

    The food, sole, was delicious (love that caper sauce). And appreciate getting 2 sides of my choice. Service, by our waiter, was almost nonexistent. After we got our dinner we never saw him again and had to flag him down for our bill. The guy who filled the the water, tho, was spot on.

    Everything was spot on perfection! Our amazing waiter's recommendations were one thing better than the next all the way through wine and cocktail service to dessert. Gilberto took care of us! And his support service was right there on top of it all! We will be back! (We accidentally dropped a cell phone in a precarious place but the staff had it retrieved and waiting for us the next morning!)

    We were seated outside so we can’t speak to the inside noise level . Staff was very attentive and our sever Alejandro provided great recommendations. We will definitely return.

    Classic Ceviche was way too chewy and the seafood pasta had a weird aftertaste. However, everything else was amazing, especially the octopus, lamb risotto and desserts. Good selection of wines as well. Overall, we would recommend this place

    Our server obliged with the best suggestions for wine, beef (rib eye) and pasta. ( seafood gnocchi). He made a fine meal even more fun. It was the most flavorful and tender rib eye we've ever had.

    Incredible meal and great service throughout. The ravioli was the star dish while the risotto and other dishes were also awesome. Definitely will be back as the menu is huge and I want to try more of it. You can’t go wrong here. Also, they did a great job on keeping the interior pretty quiet so we would chat with each other without yelling across the table.

    Food and service are excellent. First time at the Pasadena location - during Dine LA week. The Dine LA menu was excellent, several choices that made it difficult to decide on just one for each course. It is VERY loud in the restaurant.

    Consistently excellent food, wine, and service. The restaurant has been remodeled to include a full bar; there were several people eating at the bar which added a nice, lively ambience. So many choices on the menu both for wine and food. Our server was fantastic. Nice to have such a good place to count on.

    Dinner before a show. Server was attentive and knowledgeable and delivery of food kept us on schedule without issue. Skirt steak, mushrooms and misto fritto where all very good as were the various sauces. They have a very large menu and I look forward to trying new dishes the next time I'm in Pasadena.

    I have been coming to mañbec about once or twice a year since they opened. The menu is more varied than it used to be. We had excelent trio de cebiches (peruvian, not argentinian), excelent cordero, very good canneloni, good empanadas and ok pasta w salmon

    Superb. Really superb. We are in town for a screening in LA but stayed in Pasadena as it had been a while. Found Malbec on OT and gave it a try. Terrific food. We will drive the 4 hours to return to explore more of the menu. Yes, it was that good.
