Makoto Ratings and Reviews
It was terrible experience this time . When we arrive they asked 20 minutes for get to table ready for outside. We walked around and they called for say to table is ready . Than we went there, they said the table is getting ready just wait couple of minutes. After they called us we were wait 20 minutes more with 2 kids at the door . Then someone show us a table and we sat down. After that about 3 or 4 waitresses come and ask us that we are sitting right table or not !!!! It was really annoying .
I am fan Of the Makoto food but this time the food are sloppy. We could get taste as good as we used to.
We had lunch at Makoto last Sunday, my husband and me.
We enjoyed very much the experience, the food was amazing and delicious, ambience and service very nice. Beside oriental dishes we ordered a whole grilled branzino that was perfect. We recomend this restaurant
The ambiance was beautiful, nice looking crowd, a nice hum of activity. Almost immediately we were shocked by just how horrible the service was. The hostess and wait staff nearly ignored us and when we did get their attention they were short and rude. They were in such a hurry that they did not even make it all the way around our table for drink orders. When we called a waiter over the look on his face clearly showed that we were disturbing him. They have no apparent order in how they deliver dishes to the table and almost never knew who to place the dish in front of. The restaurant has amazing food and charges top, top dollar for it ( a two piece serving of sushi averages $21). The nine of us worked up a tab well over $1,000 but we were treated like pond scum. As much as this may have been the best sushi I have ever had I will never return. If they hate people so much perhaps they should consider other careers
Siempre q estamos en Miami vamos 3 o /4 veces a Makoto . Nos encanta la comida es alucinante ! Y sabores distintos . Lo malo es q aunque siempre reservamos antes de ir Siempre tenemos q esperar Nunca esta nuestra mesa . Y no reservan afuera q es la parte más linda ya q adentro hay mucho olor a comida y no se puede hablar .
Makoto does not disappoint. The Spicy Tuna Rice appetizer, chicken dumplings, and Miso Sea Bass were spectacular. You cannot get these dishes anywhere else with this degree of flavor and execution. The portions are small so do not be afraid to order plenty of food. The service was also very good.
Wow. Everything was amazing. Service, food, ambiance. A+ across the board.
Ordered the following. Everything was an A+
Spicy tuna crispy rice
Short rib robata
Miso sea bass
Spicy tuna maki
Some kind of passion fruit dessert which was amazing
Makoto is a great place. We were in Bal Harbor for several days and ended up eating their twice. Food is creative, fun and well presented. Highly recommend. If you get the grilled avocado, make you you get it with the truffle. We had it both ways and the truffle put it over the top.
We made a reservation at 7pm. We were seated immediately at a nice table centrally located in the restaurant. The server and staff was outstanding. It is tapas style. We had a little of everything including the Wagyu beef that you cook on a stone. We were impressed with everything except the desserts. They desserts were average but everything else was excellent. Will definitely return.
The experience at Makoto was great like always but it was disappointing to book through open table. We were sent a 10$ value gift card and it also showed that on your reservation but when we finished eating and showed the gift card to makoto at the time of paying the bill, makoto said they do not accept open table rewards or gift cards and we will need to take it up with open table.
So makoto was great! Open table sucked and booking though it was a disaster!
