We ate here with our two children (ages 8 and 10) to celebrate a special occasion. It was a wonderful evening. Steven was our server and he was so kind and helpful. He made the kids feel so special. While there is not a children's menu, there are multiple things on the menu that appealed to my adventurous eaters. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely. Everything that we ordered was delicious. The swordfish and lamb chops and filet tips were all cooked perfectly and accompanied by really tasty vegetables and rice or risotto. The charcuterie platter was large and varied and was plated beautifully. We finished with the brownie a la mode, which was a delicious brownie large enough to share.
Ambiance was great. Wait staff was outstanding! Katrina made it a very special night for us. All staff seemed very much engaged with the customers. They provided an excellent experience with a sense of humor. We celebrated Veteran's Day and it was worth every minute of it. Well done!
My wife and I had a wonderful date this Saturday at Maison Martinique. She had the Surf and Turf with the best sirloin I've tasted in a very long time. I had the seafood calamarata, scallops and shrimp over a cream sauce linguine. Excellent scallops and shrimp - large, fresh and cooked to perfection. After I finished, I returned to my wife's sirloin - fantastic.
What happened! This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. The valet is no longer there, nor is the hostess. There are new waitstaff, but only one is knowledgable. We were told that the 2 original chefs left in July. The restaurant was out of some of the cocktail liquors, including Makers Mark. They no longer have escargot or oysters rockefeller on the menu. The menu itself was horrible and most of the prices were north of $40.00. There were very few wines by the glass. Bread with dinner was $5.00 extra! Appetizer crab cakes were served cold and mostly bread crumbs. The mussels were OK. Roast duck, $42.00, skin was not crispy. Lamb chops, 3 small @ $42.00, were OK. Our waiter was fine, but the rest of the waitstaff did not know what to do. It seemed like the upstairs piano bar was not even open. We did not have desert. Our waiter told us that they are going to come out with a new menu featuring caribbean food. We have been coming here since 2010, and will not be going back until they change back to the good restaurant that they once were.
I would best describe this restaurant as a scene in a Wes Anderson movie. Bizarre pretty much covers it. We stopped to check in early for our dinner reservation before going to the piano bar upstairs for a drink , and we should have stayed there. The restaurant was musty and drab, and the brown carpet caused me to request an extra chair so my belongings didn't have to touch the floor. That was the first cue to leave while we could. The brands of alcohol available upstairs were not available downstairs, though they shared a kitchen. We switched our beverages. We ordered appetizers, and was then told they ran out of one of them. We switched our order. We ordered our entrees, a fight ensued in the kitchen, and the new girl came out to tell us that one of the entrees was not available. One of us switched our order. The servers tried to the best of their ability, but unprofessionally. The antics in the dining room were hilarious in a slap stick kind of way, but didn't add to the meal or the experience. There was something off about all of it. It all felt slightly dangerous, very uncomfortable and very unhinged. As for the food, the crab cakes were passable, the swordfish was decent, the tuna was very good and the veal chops were grisly. There is absolutely positively no reason at all to ever dine here. Ever.
Service was excellent, not a huge selection to choose from, I ordered a well done fillet mignon and it was still very pink in the middle, portions were pretty small so my husband was able to eat mine as well. Ordered the crabcakes as an appetizer they were excellent.
The service was impeccable along with the entries! Needs more lighting, too dark inside. Had trouble reading menu. Think it should have some soft music. Building had a very musty smell. Needs to open up earlier for breakfast. Serves at 8 am and the food is made to order. A lot of people means a lot of waiting. Maybe do a buffet as well and begin at 7:-7:30 am. Saw a lot of people waiting for restaurant to open at 7:30 am. Would also like to see food service outside. If they have it, it wasn't offered.
I was dining solo and sat upstairs in the Havana Piano bar. Being a Friday night in late July, it was not too busy. Mary, behind the bar, was extremely pleasant and service oriented. The food was well prepared. It was a three course offering, and somewhat limited, but the seasonal salad and swordfish were nicely done.
Disappointed with the service. Ordered Seafood Newburg, very small, 2 shrimps, 2 scallops and one small piece of lobster claw. Price was over$30, definitely not worth the price. Blackened grouper was small and the rice was dry. Over priced and food not that good.
From the maître d' to our server, Rebecca everyone had a smile on their face. Our valet parking was excellent and fast as well. The food was superb well and paired with the side dishes. We have been dining here many times over the years and have never been dissatisfied. Will keep going back and look forward to our next dining experience.
Since our reservation was made rather late, the table was a large round (6-8) for 4 people. We made it worked, but they were very busy. Service was slow. Food was adequate. We were in the room to the right as you walk in. As we left, we checked out the rooms on the left and will try again. Our waiter was very friendly and with it being so busy did a good job of taking care of us.
Todo estuvo muy bien y me gusto todo solo que mi comida vino cruda, le pedí a la moza que la cocinaran mas y volvió igual.
No la comí, la deje en el plato y la camarera nunca me pregunto cual era el problema o si quería otra cosa.
Eso me pareció mal.

Our experience could not have been better. Attentive service by Matthew , delicious preparation of food, the chef came to our table to see if our expectations were fulfilled - wonderful oysters Rockefeller - great competition for New Orleans A great grouper dish for my husband. And my Italian styled veal dish. The Patadise was delightful. Please try this , you will not be disappointed
This was our anniversary and first time to this restaurant. The valet quickly opened my wife's door and directed us inside. We were immediately shown to our table where the roses I ordered had been placed. Attention to every detail by the superb staff helped us to relax while we sipped our wine. Our server, Brian, was intuitive seeming to know exactly what we were going to want, discreetly clearing away or fetching accordingly. I can't say enough about the food! Delicious does not really describe how good it was, maybe wayyyy better than delicious might be a good start. The key lime pie was quite possibly some of the best we've ever had...and we have eaten some excellent key lime!
The music from the piano bar upstairs tinkled down and intrigued us so after we finished dining we found our way up the steps (I think there is an elevator but we liked the stairs)and really enjoyed the ambiance.. Was a nice way to complete the evening.
As we walked out the door, we noticed how the palm trees made beautiful profiles against the velvet blue sky..not yet fully dark out. It was a most perfect evening for our 12th wedding anniversary. Thank you very much to the staff of Maison Matinique! We will be back.
We love this restaurant - 5 stars - but this night, we started off with a waiter named Russell - terrible- he should be working at a Bone Fish Grill, Olive Garden type restaurant - he was too chatty and very annoying. We came for a relaxing meal but he wasn't allowing that to happen Upon me talking with the hostess, he was replaced by a waiter named Brian who knew how to serve a table in a first class French restaurant. Oysters Rockefeller delicate and delicious sauce. I had the rack of lamb - wonderful my husband had the seabass - he loved it. Please dine here but make sure Russell is not your waiter.
Not our first visit to Maison Martinique, but possibly our last. We were graciously greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was personable and attentive and service was good. The problem comes with the food. We each ordered the "Crispy Pork Belly" appetizer which was NOT crispy; rather gelatinous in fact. We asked that it be cooked more and we were told the chef doesn't like to cook it too much or it will dry out, but they accommodated us and took it back for further cooking. On the second pass it was a bit better, but still not something I'd describe as 'crispy'. My husband ordered a special grouper dish which was $34. We get it, grouper is expensive. But when his plate arrived the grouper portion could not have been more than 3 oz. (perhaps 4 if one is being generous). I ordered the hog fish special and the portion was more reasonable, probably 6-7 oz and nicely prepared and presented. But the portion on the grouper was ridiculous. And this wasn't a mistake as one of our friends ordered the same dish and received the same miniscule portion. We don't mind paying for a good meal, but we left the restaurant feeling as though we had been ripped off.
We were warmly greeted and seated by staff. Our table for two was available on time, per our reservation. The seating was comfortable and roomy. Our server, Jodi, was pleasant, very knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Appetizers, salads and main courses were all well portioned and nicely presented. The courses were well spaces, never leaving us feeling rushed. The entrees were accurately described on the menu, nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. Pleasant atmosphere, great service and awesome food. We highly recommend it and we will be back!
Let me say that I typically give good reviews.
Had read mixed reviews, with more current ones improved. Of the five of us, two had food that they thought was very good. Two of us had the crusted Pompano, which we felt was very dry with little flavor. I suppose our experience was tempered by the extremely loud table for eight immediately next to us, with one chair directly against mine to the point that there was little room for the waiter...we had to pass plates. I felt sorry for the couple dining near us, who I believe anticipated a romantic setting. The waiter seemed rather indifferent.
