"We are two food and wine loving French New Yorkers who are bringing an exciting restaurant to Harlem, one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the borough."
What Insiders Are Saying
Maison Harlem is a casual French place that’s one of Harlem’s best neighborhood hangs.
Good was great. Music was good. We spilled red wine on white dress and waitress brought white wine to remove the stain, it worked wonderfully
Nice place to chill and have a brunch. Nice vintage decoration. Food is tasty and well presented, the portion size could be widened.
the menu would gain value in proposing combined sweet & sour brunch combos.
I have been to Maison Harlem for lunch and it was lovely, however dinner on Saturday night was so noisy that it made dinner conversation almost impossible. My risotto had the consistency of rice pudding with a few chunks of carrot and maybe some spinach. It was a disappointing evening...
Excellent food, good environment, enjoy coming here. The music was too loud for my taste tonight, we couldn’t hold a conversation, but the food was great as always. Had the lollipop lamb chop special. Will definitely plan to return.
We enjoyed it very much. Our only reservation had to do with the volume of the funky band. We were located outside but even at that the volume was too high. Midway through our meal the band turned to jazz at a much lower level and all was well at that point, but I wouldn't dine indoors with music blasting at the rate it was when we first arrived.
Service so-so. Recommended by an friend as stop before the Yankees.
I've been to Le Maison many times before, but this time I ordered a dish (risotto with lobster) that I did not like at all. I was very disappointed, but it was a Mothers Day dinner and I didn't want to complain.
A fabulous neighborhood spot for intimate dining. Great live music, and great cocktails! Lovely staff!
I really loved this restaurant. The only reason why i gave it 4 stars on the food is because the risotto had both balsamic vinegar and truffle oil. The taste for my mom was a bit too strong and not was needing both elements. Otherwise, a fantastic meal and space. Hallelujah.
Food was spot on and experience was generally positive. Most of the staff was very helpful, our particular waiter want very good as I had to ask for crayons and a sippy cup for our 4 year old multiple times and ended up having another wait staff assist us.
The place is very noisy but mostly in a good way. I think it is better suits adults and older children. Overall good experience and i will go back again.
The food was excellent. Service is slow, even though there are not that many tables there. If you are not in a rush, then you should be fine. The place is a bit pricey, but quality of food justified that. Location is very convenient, right across from subway entrance. The place is very noisy, tables are very close, and we had musicians the night of the dinner, so it was very hard to talk.
What a great find. Fantastically, artistically funky. The food is wonderful. Try it.
Great place, great music... food was truly amazing. Everything perfect. Our serve Raul was really friendly. Would definitely go back several times. Congrats to you guys!
Although the bar is noisy, the dining area is relatively quiet - good for conversation. I had the risotto; excellent!
A welcome addition to the neighborhood. I plan to return soon.
Wonderful as usual as a person with celiac disease it’s nice to go somewhere that caters to your needs and knows what you are talking about! Thank you.
I’ve always loved this place. Food and ambiance are excellent, but some of the newer waiters are not as good as the previous ones. Some of them just come and stand over you and wait for you to speak. They don’t welcome you to the restaurant, introduce themselves, tell you about the specials... just stand there and wait until you start talking. But I’ve only experienced this twice out of the numerous amount of times I’ve been there.
Maison Harlem delivers. Place is a diamond. If i used one word to describe people: swag, so bring your A game.
J’adore Maison Harlem it’s uptown’s gem - classic yet progressive, yummy with healthy options too, cocktails to swoon over and real New York characters abounding- the best variety though authentic and cool without meNing to be so.
Consistently very good quality and nice servers.
Tables were placed a little too close to each other, but otherwise it was great!
Sea bass special was excellent. Great for cocktails and a great meal before a show at the Apollo!
The food, service, and ambiance are top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Had a lovely flavorful lunch. Service was great. It is a warm and welcoming place. You can also get breakfast until 4pm.
I wish there were a restaurant like Maison Harlem in my neighborhood: welcoming to everyone, with good vibes, good service, and very good French food. Portions were plentiful, making it a good value as well. Our endive salad had an excellent dressing. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, and cassoulet loaded with delicious meats. House-made lemon tart was worth the extra calories.
Don't be put off by the noise in the small bar area at the entry; it's just people having a good time. The dining room at the rear is more conducive to talk. And if you don't want to talk, just listen to the music!
The restaurant is wonderful. my complaint is that when we arrived we were told that a large party would be coming and that we needed to be gone with that 75 minutes. We found that very offputting and unnecessary
I made a reservation for 8:00pm and we weren't seated until 8:45pm. Also, the music was so loud and dance-like that it felt more like an after-hours party. Not suitable for dinner.
We really like this place but wouldn't go here again on a Friday or Saturday night because the noise made it almost impossible to converse with out friends. The food was quite good, as usual (tuna tartare, salmon salads and desserts especially, and the service was OK but not quite as good as it had been during past visits (maybe because of it was busier than on the nights of our other visits). This is a small place (which we find is a plus) but this includes mandatory passage through a narrow bar area to reach the dining area. It was still "Happy Hour" when we arrived (our friends were pre-theater) and teeming bar patrons engrossed in social conversations and drinking made the relatively short passage difficult to traverse. We'll be back but will time it differently.
we had a nice meal here before our show. Loved the atmosphere.
Service was excellent. Food was good nothing special. Great place for a quiet meal.
Waiter was very poor. Tipped over full bottle of wine. We had to clean it up. No offer of replacement of spilled. No understanding of the menu or basic wait skills. Very disappointed.
Raul was an amazing waiter and made my 30th birthday brunch special with the staff who came to sing happy birthday, in French as well!
Enjoyed the mussels. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful little brunch place in Harlem. The staff was great and the food was delicious!
The Maison is a great restaurant, we go all the time, the food is exceptional and the service is awesome! I definitely recommend it!
Love this local gem!
In town for a show at the Apollo. Cute, romantic and the food was delicious. Waitstaff friendly and accommodating. Loved That the menus were old album covers and the walls were covered in vintage French newspapers.
Charming and delicious, Maison Harlem is a wonderful neighborhood spot
Excellent food at reasonable prices considering the quality of preparation and presentation. All six of us ordered different items and everyone was extremely happy. We went on a Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised at our extra bonus during the beginning of our dinner: live music - a terrific songstress. A great value.
Drove up from Philly for Brunch, this place has excellent food. The French toast and eggs Benedict are favorites. Will definitely come back!
The atmosphere is really good. Staff is friendly and plenty of good food. The restaurant has really nice interior and the decorations are very charming.
