What Insiders Are Saying
Maison Harlem is a casual French place that’s one of Harlem’s best neighborhood hangs.
Fantastic little place in Harlem a must. Great week day lunch menu, fast service and delicious food.
Great meal. Great staff. Great music. A really lovely evening.
My family and I went to Maison Harlem On Christmas Day
Friendly staff, nice ambience, wide and unusual menu with good food and portion sizes. Great find in the area. Nice bar area at the front of the building.
The food was delicious, some of the best French food in Harlem. The restaurant had a fun and cozy vibe, and the staff were really friendly, I would definitely come back. The only disappointment was the end of the meal when I went to the bathrooms, they looked like they hadn't been cleaned all week.
This was our second visit to Maison Harlem. We loved everything about our first visit. In fact, we loved the duck confit so much, we ordered it again. This time, it was not nearly as enjoyable. It was dry and overcooked. I was very disappointed. When we mentioned this to our waiter at the end of the meal, he brought us a delicious complimentary chocolate mousse. It didn't make me forget about the duck confit, but it was a nice way to end our meal. For an appetizer, we enjoyed the deep fried oysters very much. Our mushroom and seafood risotto entree was also very enjoyable.
We had dinner before seeing a show at the Apollo. Very nice and safe neighborhoold. Food was very good. Server was friendly. Very enjoyable.
I had eaten there before but usually with one other person. They were very accommodating when we needed to add others to our party at the last minute.
The staff was friendly and the food hit the spot. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered.
Merci beaucoup, Maison!!
The fois gras appetizer was disappointing and we sent it back. It was not fois gras but some sort of fois gras cake. The Chilean sea bass in mustard sauce as the main course was very tasty and was a good size portion. I would definitely go again if in the neighborhood.
Unpretentious and exceptional. Our server Dan was gracious and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions about the menu and he offered suggestions when asked. The coq au vin arrived hot and was full of flavors. Will visit again for a delicious meal.
I always enjoy eating at the Maison Harlem. It’s such a cozy place. Great place for date night.
The food and service were excellent. Food was the star! We had fresh snapper with risotto and spinach and it was fresh and perfectly prepared. Wine list was good and had some reason prices options. The service was great, friendly and prompt
Will go again
Excellent food and service. Cocktails were great and ambience was elegant yet fun. Staff was very friendly and seemed to really care about making guests happy.
The food is good, a nice balance between traditional French dishes but with north African touches. The wine list is decent but not outstanding. The service was friendly and efficient for the most part. On very hot days it is a little uncomfortable because the doors to the patio area let in all the hot air. When the restaurant is full it is quite noisy. The mussels are excellent.
We came for late brunch on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. Food was fantastic!
wonderful food. The staff was outstanding, attentive and even helped move my 103 yo mother in law, in a wheel chair in and out of the restaurant to the car. They made her birthday great!
My all-time favorite local restaurant, I’ve been coming here since they opened and consistently receive amazing service with delicious flavorful food.
I love everything about this place, the vibe, the service, and the food was super delicious!
Merci merci merci!
Really good food, great, friendly service, lively atmosphere--I liked everything about it!
It's one of our favorite places in Harlem for a reasonably priced well cooked meal with a very nice presentation. The chocolate lava cake is fantastic.
Maison Harlem is pure vibes!!! Love dining or drinking here.
Great experience authentic food absolutely one of my favorite places
We took friends from overseas that were in the area and enjoyed it A LOT ! We had jazz live music and the food was delicious and nicely put.
It isn't a quiet place for quiet conversation but great for friend get together . We loved it !
Went there for brunch. The food was meh. I had french toast with home fries, which were just diced potatoes, bacon and a fruit salad. The fruit salad was the best part. The french toast was slightly warm and bland. The bacon was burnt and the potatoes were ok. The server was really nice and the crowd was diverse and hip. Food was a disappointment.
You absolutely have to order their cheese platter! We ordered a selection of 3 cheeses but their portion was quite generous so we were quite full by the time the entrees had arrived. The risotto was amazing, too. I liked the music and the overall atmosphere as well. I will be back for sure.
My cousin was in town. And she asked me to find a place for us to go for dinner. Since she was staying at a hotel in Harlem I decided to look for a place in Harlem. I chose this place after reading the reviews and availability of greeting a reservation in short notice. The food was even better than what the reviewers said. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I will definitely go back again.
We went for an early Sunday dinner, they had been really busy with the world cup final, good service and friendly staff.
IT was festive and noisy because of world cup. So we sat at the table outside. The service was fast and food was good.
First-time at Mason Harlem. Small and somewhat noise
Foof.was good as well as the service.will return. .
We went for French restaurant week. My only complaint about the restaurant is that the person who greeted/seated us was not particularly welcoming and didn't give us the restaurant week menu. Although the options on the special menu were very limited (we ordered all the options between the two of us), all the food was delicious. And our waitress was wonderful. Really friendly and efficient. We would go again.
My husband and I have been coming to Maison Harlem since it opened. WE know the previous owner, Sammy, as well as some of the staff who always greeted us in a friendly manner. This past experience was very disappointing. The person who seated us wouldn't crack a smile. We waited almost 20 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered. Food was good but very slow in coming though the place wasn't crowded. It seemed that there wasn't enough wait staff even for the few patrons there. Sad, as this used to be one of our favorite neighborhood haunts.
They really need to step it up!
The place to be!
6 adults and 4 kids at 4pm Sunday for a birthday celebration for a 7 year old!! We had the great seating in the back. Waiters were very attentive and patient and comfortable with children!! Food and drink were good! Atmosphere festive!!
Thanks for a great time!!
Excellent food and service for a fine dining experience in a casual funky restaurant in Harlem.
We went to Maison Harlem while in NYC for my birthday. I love French and was looking for a place where we could laugh and get a bit carried away without feeling disruptive. For French food, I’d give it an eight-and-a-half. For fun ambiance and sevice, a ten. We had a large group, with one of us gluten-intolerant. The waiter clearly cared enough to walk her through the entire menu. If you’re looking for a quiet, romantic outing, it may vary by the day. If you’re looking for a place to hang out with friends, it’s a great choice!
My dads birthday he enjoyed the restaurant and loved the food
Loved Maison Harlem. Great food and great vibe for an anniversary dinner. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.
We had a wonderful meal, the lamb sausages, steak, and couscous were all amazing, as were the drinks. The manager really knows his wine, too! Overall fantastic, and the unexpected live music was also amazing.
