What Insiders Are Saying
Maison Harlem is a casual French place that’s one of Harlem’s best neighborhood hangs.
A Harlem staple. Love it there. Breakfast/Brunch never disappoints, drinks are awesome, very nice portions of food and great hospitality.
Great energy and terrific quality food and vino at reasonable prices. We’ll come back again!
Really enjoyed the poulet ratatouille. And great location near Apollo Theater
Delicious food, friendly service, excellent bloody mary. Warm, shabby chic environment.
Nice work meal with colleagues. Everyone was satisfied with their entrees. We shared the calamari, foie gras and kale salad. All three were great. The foie gras was EXCELLENT.
Next time I will sit at the bar with my wife and order the Happy Hr oysters, foie gras and a drink.
Noisy but not too noisy. We could still easily converse as a party of 6.
Our reservation was honored on time, as usual.
I came here once again - likely my 10th or 12th visit - this time with out of town friends and family.
Everything is really always completely on-point. Mussels were perfect; broth and bread just irresistible; french fries just perfect. The seafood risotto was the star of the visit with a generous amount of seafood and truffle! Homemade sausage was exceptional and the standard burger was way above standard.
One person was a vegan and had no problems with the menu. Another was a carnivore and also had no problem with the menu. Another doing Paleo and also no problem with the menu.
The staff is completely accommodating, friendly, natural and attentive.
Even the kid's menu item was prepared in an 'adult' way.
It is always refreshing to come here as it is a never miss kind of experience. Everyone I bring here is always surprised at the quality of food and care and expertise in preparation.
I would say that the ventilation system needs to be improved as I always find it a bit too warm in the restaurant - winter or summer!
The noise level is a bit too high but not terrible - some additional attention to the acoustics would be nice.
But I do have to think to find things I don't like about Maison Harlem.
Bar scene is almost completely different vibe but separated from the dining room by a few steps.
Always love this fab spot! Our go to for date night, drinks with friends or when the oyster craving hits
Great fun at bar. Good food and really nice ambiance in dining room
I love this restaurant!
So much good energy and good food!
This restaurant is FANTASTIC! The food, the drinks, the service, and the ambiance together strike the perfect tone. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back!
Excellent food, Excellent service, reasonable price :)
Will surely be back soon :). My client was very pleased.
FIne service, nice ambience, good neighborhood feeling, and the menu looked quite tasty. But even calibrating my food review to the fairly low price points, this chef is untalented and it shows.
Fun atmosphere -- wait staff very attentive. Good value. Food was tasty. Good spot for brunch
The food was excellent - we had specials which included rack of lamb and a halibut dish with mashed potatoes and spinach. The service was generally attentive and the ambiance was a bit noisy due to the bar at the front of the restaurant, but not to the point where you could not hear one another. The cocktails were the main disappointment. We ordered several different ones and they all tasted "off". My first drink was a rum/sparkling wine mix and it literally burned my tongue every time I took a sip so I kept chasing it with water. Another drink was called a "sangria" with passion fruit but contained no wine base or fruit. It was extremely sweet and that passion fruit flavor tasted a bit rancid. Overall I would return if I were in the area and craving the food.
Good food & the employees were welcoming. However, the spacing is a little tight and casual. I would go again as more of a family oriented dinner or happy hour vibe.
Best Birthday. I visit every time I come to the Big Apple
Fantastic little place in Harlem a must. Great week day lunch menu, fast service and delicious food.
Great meal. Great staff. Great music. A really lovely evening.
My family and I went to Maison Harlem On Christmas Day
Friendly staff, nice ambience, wide and unusual menu with good food and portion sizes. Great find in the area. Nice bar area at the front of the building.
The food was delicious, some of the best French food in Harlem. The restaurant had a fun and cozy vibe, and the staff were really friendly, I would definitely come back. The only disappointment was the end of the meal when I went to the bathrooms, they looked like they hadn't been cleaned all week.
This was our second visit to Maison Harlem. We loved everything about our first visit. In fact, we loved the duck confit so much, we ordered it again. This time, it was not nearly as enjoyable. It was dry and overcooked. I was very disappointed. When we mentioned this to our waiter at the end of the meal, he brought us a delicious complimentary chocolate mousse. It didn't make me forget about the duck confit, but it was a nice way to end our meal. For an appetizer, we enjoyed the deep fried oysters very much. Our mushroom and seafood risotto entree was also very enjoyable.
We had dinner before seeing a show at the Apollo. Very nice and safe neighborhoold. Food was very good. Server was friendly. Very enjoyable.
I had eaten there before but usually with one other person. They were very accommodating when we needed to add others to our party at the last minute.
The staff was friendly and the food hit the spot. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered.
Merci beaucoup, Maison!!
The fois gras appetizer was disappointing and we sent it back. It was not fois gras but some sort of fois gras cake. The Chilean sea bass in mustard sauce as the main course was very tasty and was a good size portion. I would definitely go again if in the neighborhood.
Unpretentious and exceptional. Our server Dan was gracious and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions about the menu and he offered suggestions when asked. The coq au vin arrived hot and was full of flavors. Will visit again for a delicious meal.
I always enjoy eating at the Maison Harlem. It’s such a cozy place. Great place for date night.
The food and service were excellent. Food was the star! We had fresh snapper with risotto and spinach and it was fresh and perfectly prepared. Wine list was good and had some reason prices options. The service was great, friendly and prompt
Will go again
Excellent food and service. Cocktails were great and ambience was elegant yet fun. Staff was very friendly and seemed to really care about making guests happy.
The food is good, a nice balance between traditional French dishes but with north African touches. The wine list is decent but not outstanding. The service was friendly and efficient for the most part. On very hot days it is a little uncomfortable because the doors to the patio area let in all the hot air. When the restaurant is full it is quite noisy. The mussels are excellent.
We came for late brunch on a Saturday afternoon and had a great time. Food was fantastic!
wonderful food. The staff was outstanding, attentive and even helped move my 103 yo mother in law, in a wheel chair in and out of the restaurant to the car. They made her birthday great!
My all-time favorite local restaurant, I’ve been coming here since they opened and consistently receive amazing service with delicious flavorful food.
I love everything about this place, the vibe, the service, and the food was super delicious!
Merci merci merci!
Really good food, great, friendly service, lively atmosphere--I liked everything about it!
It's one of our favorite places in Harlem for a reasonably priced well cooked meal with a very nice presentation. The chocolate lava cake is fantastic.
Maison Harlem is pure vibes!!! Love dining or drinking here.
Great experience authentic food absolutely one of my favorite places
We took friends from overseas that were in the area and enjoyed it A LOT ! We had jazz live music and the food was delicious and nicely put.
It isn't a quiet place for quiet conversation but great for friend get together . We loved it !
