"We are two food and wine loving French New Yorkers who are bringing an exciting restaurant to Harlem, one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the borough."
Always a great time. Good was amazing and staff is always friendly
Very nice place, staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Birthday dinner super festive!
The food was delicious. Generous portions and the service was very good.
Soo yummyyyyyy
I’ve came here once before and it was nothing like my first experience. We waited an hour and a half for our food AFTER the appetizer came out. The couple sitting next to us came an hour after us and was given appetizers, and their entrees before us and we ordered the same thing. When the food arrived, all of our plates came with French fries despite none of us ordering French fries. When the waiter came over he said they had run out of potatoes. So I was unable to get mashed potatoes and my friend was unable to get potatoes gratin. I was even more upset because the couple next to us had the same exact meal with mashed potatoes so they technically got our meal first. I don’t understand why the waiter did not inform us of them running out my mashed potatoes and instead filled our plates with French fries that none of us ordered. The waiter then offered us free drinks and allowed me to choose another meal. I chose the seafood pasta which took another 45 minutes. I had to watch my friends eat their food while I sat at the table waiting. The pasta did not have a pleasant taste at all and the noodles were overcooked. I did not finish the meal at all. I was extremely disappointed with my experience because the first experience was very different. The food was lacking as well as the service.
We have been to this restaurant before and found it excellent - food, service, ambiance. Our experience on Feb 14 was the exact opposite. The service in particular was terrible, as they seemed to have no experienced staff working on Valentine's Day. What staff they did have was slow and often rude. The cocktails, escargot and frisee salad were good, but the main courses were not - mussels were bland, steak was overcooked and cold, couscous dish was tasteless and almost inedible. No one came by to see how everything was. No specials and the French restaurant ran out of French bread at 7:45. Did not stay for dessert.
Good time! Good food.
Food was great, service was good, didn’t have to wait long to be seated, would recommend to family and friends
Early Valentine’s Day dinner
Maison Harlem was absolutely delicious! The mussels were to die for, I plan in going back very soon just for those!
The food was really good! And the service was as well...very polite and on top of things.
Amazing drinks made by Deborah and perfectly cooked steak!
Comfortable seating, delicious food, great staff!
Terrific chef, fresh ingredients, friendly service. Had brunch there for the first time...I would travel for their kale salad and ratatouille. Very happy to see people eating there and supporting them.
The servers were pleasant when they were around, but were unavailable for much of the time. I waited 20 minutes to order drinks. The heat went out due to a fuse being tripped on more than one occasion. The wait staff did not notice the heat having been turned off even though it was quite cold (being outside at night). It must happen frequently, but they did not monitor for it. The child at a table diagonal to mine was playing a video at a high volume, but the waitstaff did not approach them to lower the volume.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent wine. Our only complaint: The heater went out six (yes, six) times. (We dined outside in January 2021).
maison has been always great, but now, during the Covid winter, maison becomes a life-saver, a quintessential beacon of the hood. Great food, drinks and music, wonderful vibes, this is the best!
Great food, drinks & service. Their Outdoor setup on 127th is heated and well-spaced. Looking forward to going back soon :)
I had the quiche Lorraine with salad and my son had roast chicken with fries. Both were delicious and well prepared. We were thoroughly impressed with the staff and the environment in their courtesy and their COVID 19 precautions. I would definitely go there again.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving brunch. Bravo!
We recently moved to Harlem and have ordered takeout from here but never dined in person until recently. Everything was incredible - and there was live music! This will definitely be one of our regular spots going forward.
the food was good but the drinks were not so great. The drinks were 16$ and one took 4 tries to get them right the first time ( regular margarita). No big deal because i dont think the bartender was there, but I was still charged for the drinks . My friends have said they have great margaritas so i have to assume i was there on an off day.
If that round of drinks would've been comped for me having to send them back 4 times, I would've had no problem. I decided to to order a different drink for the second round. (FYI if you mess up the drink you should comp it)
The food was really good though.
The best French restaurant in all uptown - the ambiance and service are consistently outstanding.
Great experience. Great music, great ambiance, friendly staff
Very good across the board. Live band was a nice added touch.
Excellent food and drink, good service, just a cold and rainy day outside and with doors open a bit chilly inside as well.
Great experience, great live music, delicious food!
There were only 2 young women serving the entire restaurant during brunch on a Sunday afternoon and the place was as pack as COVID regulations allow. It took forever to get a glass of water. It took even longer to get coffee and it was cold—even when I brought it to the wait staff's attention and they brought me a 2nd cup, which was also cold :-( After waiting for 40 minutes, I gave up and left. They need more staff if they plan to pack the place.
Everything was great, including service; the "fair" rating is due to the fact that we showed up a few minutes early of our reservation (meaning: super on-time) and we were left to our own devices for a very long time. The staff, very busy, ignored us for the first 15' and it was difficult to understand who to talk to, since there didn't seem to be a figurehead manager, all were running around and ignoring my polite overtures. The situation improved when I started speaking French, and once we sat down we were treated very well, even exchanging recipies and stories with out server. I have been going there many years, though this was the first post-pandemic experience; my suggestion: reception, as in the act of actually receiving guests and situating them, must be radically overhauled. My girlfriend wanted to leave and threw a tantrum, it was only because I said "what about me" and we were celebrating my birthday that she demurred. Half way through dinner she was saying how nice things had turned out, but the start was very rocky. If I didn't know the place any better I'd say: never coming back. But I do and will; probably not on a Saturday night though (which was the case with this particular visit).
love this place. Great service and excellent food.
We sat outside for dinner and despite the windy day, we had a pretty nice time! It was a birthday celebration for my husband and we just happened to be visiting my daughter in Harlem so we decided to stay and eat out instead of heading home to NJ. For an appetizer, we shared a large order of tender P.E.I. Mussels, Mariniere which came with French Fries which were delicious. I actually could have eaten more of the fries! My husband had the Hudson Valley Duck Magret (he loves to try duck and thought was good but not the best he's had) and my daughter and I shared the Seafood Croustillant and the Wild Mushroom Risotto (absolutely delicious). We also had a bottle of the Domaine Pélaquié Côtes du Rhône, 2017, Rhône Valley, France which was very satisfying for all of us despite the variation in food. We were way too full for dessert so passed on that course. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back again!
Tasty drinks and food. More on the expensive side. But, still worth a trip.
Great vibes
the food was great. The ambience also great. However, I hate it when the waitress has so many tables that one waits literally 10 - 15 minutes from the time you ask for something till you receive it. Why, for example, did I have to wait 10 minutes for a check and then I had to physically walk into the restaurant to find the waitress to pay it because she did not return for at least 10+ minutes. That is simply unacceptable. It took what was a great experience and made it bad. Too bad - nice place and nice restaurant with good food.
Waiter was not attentive at all and the food was over priced for its quality and size.
The food was excellent, as it always is. Coq au vin and duck are so good! With the combination of live music, street noise and shouting diners at nearby tables it was often hard to hear our conversation. And the people at the next table had their toddler climbing on the divider between our tables, so not great social distancing, although I realize that’s hard for the restaurant to enforce. If it were a little less expensive, we’d go there more often rather than just special occasions.
Great servicers, good food and delicious Date. We both ordered a different dish and both dishes were amazing in flavor and presentations. We will go back.
How is a wonderful experience the staff is excellent friend leave the food is fabulous and it’s kind of like being in Paris eating outdoors now
The food was amazing. The service was wonderful.
Unfortunately, there was a lot of street noise on a Saturday night - nothing that the restaurant could really control.
