"We are two food and wine loving French New Yorkers who are bringing an exciting restaurant to Harlem, one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the borough."
What Insiders Are Saying
Maison Harlem is a casual French place that’s one of Harlem’s best neighborhood hangs.
Raul was an amazing waiter and made my 30th birthday brunch special with the staff who came to sing happy birthday, in French as well!
Enjoyed the mussels. Will definitely be back!
Wonderful little brunch place in Harlem. The staff was great and the food was delicious!
The Maison is a great restaurant, we go all the time, the food is exceptional and the service is awesome! I definitely recommend it!
Love this local gem!
In town for a show at the Apollo. Cute, romantic and the food was delicious. Waitstaff friendly and accommodating. Loved That the menus were old album covers and the walls were covered in vintage French newspapers.
Charming and delicious, Maison Harlem is a wonderful neighborhood spot
Excellent food at reasonable prices considering the quality of preparation and presentation. All six of us ordered different items and everyone was extremely happy. We went on a Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised at our extra bonus during the beginning of our dinner: live music - a terrific songstress. A great value.
Drove up from Philly for Brunch, this place has excellent food. The French toast and eggs Benedict are favorites. Will definitely come back!
The atmosphere is really good. Staff is friendly and plenty of good food. The restaurant has really nice interior and the decorations are very charming.
It’s great local spot to count on when you want great food nearby.
Maison Harlem is always an interesting experienc e - the menus are old record covers, food is a good choice (we went for brunch) & excellent bar. The brunch menu ranges from mussels to omlettes and an excellent merguez baguette. However the service leaves alot to be desired. One server just seemed like in a bad mood and was generally curt with everyone. Asking for tabasco seemed like too much. The couple next to us had to ask for utensils. Only 2 of our party of 6 had finished eating and they rushed over to clear our plates making the rest of the party feel rushed. So would definitely recommend it for a Harlem experience, but be aware of the service.
Had a late lunch here over the weekend. Food took a little time coming out of the kitchen but our server did apologize to us for the wait. Other than that, the food was really good.
I visited Maison Harlem for the first time last Friday. I did not know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The decor is funky, food and service excellent. Be careful though, the cocktails are strong. No watered down drinks at this establishment. Hooray!!! I cannot wait to visit again.
Salmon was OK nothing special, friend ordered the Dorado fish place looked fantastic fish tasted ok. Service and ambiance was excellent. Good date spot.
Delightful place and food! I have sampled breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, and all are great.
Service was excellent, ambiance was good
Mussels sauce was way too salty
Merguez was tasty but 3 very skinny portions on a bed of mixed greens and fries. Not worth the $17 price tag
Oysters were good. Not wow
Ultimately it was worth trying, but not worth the money. The prices are acceptable for NYC, but not the flavor or portion size
Very nice, cozy French restaurant. A gem with the ambiance of being in Paris.
It’s a great location for excellent French bistro food, decent wine, and a very comfortable milieu.
Nice to be acknowledged by the staff every time I come here. I’ve been a regular customer ever since they opened. Food is consistently good. The kitchen was very gracious when the meat temperature was off and I had to resend my food twice. I was offered a generous pour of my wine.
Best french bistro in Harlem
Wonderful Sunday night at Maison. The food, the music and the wine were only outmatched by the impeccable service . This is why I became a regular !
Very very good salad classic French fun atmostphere charming lively
The food and drinks were both delicious. They also have a happy hour which is a great value. The service was great.
Went for V-Day with my SO. Food was overpriced. Lobster Bisque tasted like someone had taken a bowl of gruel and added lobster flavoring. Lardon salad was good. The cassoulet was underwhelming, as the meats were almost indistinguishable within a heavy helping of white beans. Lack of depth in flavor profile. SO’s seafood pasta was fine, but featured a really overwhelming bland cream taste. Service was good. Atmosphere was frenetic—intimate seating, loud music, and peculiar decor. Bathrooms left something to be desired. Really underwhelming and overpriced. Will avoid in the future.
Absolutely delicious food, impeccable service, in a sunny space with fun album-record menus. Our server Raul was a delight: thoughtful, attentive, friendly, charming and effective. They adjusted the music volume for us, accommodated our group of 8, and nobody was ever waiting for drinks. Such a great restaurant. Highly recommend. Everyone licked their plates clean - seriously - there was no food left at all.
Super fun! Delicious food!
A great and different experience. The ambience was very nice and the staff was very helpful
Been eating here for years. Excellent as always. The key is that it's traditional French bistro fare, le cuisine grand mere, "grandma-cooking", and it's authentic. No attempt to interpret, update or otherwise change the offerings. And perfect execution. A jewel
Great local Harlem place. Well done French bistro cuisine. Boisterous lively. atmosphere with great energy. I look forward to going back.
This restaurant is one of my favorite in the city, but when I went to cancel a reservation last week Open Table's site had crashed...this is not the first time...very annoying
Very speedy service on the food. Server was nice and polite. Overall good experience
Not easy to serve a group of 12 but our service was more than up to the challenge. The food was good too. The music was a bonus. We were at the Apollo Theater and this was the perfect place to dine after the show
Great place excellent vibe staff the best
We were a group of 6 celebrating Mom & Dad’s birthdays-we each enjoyed our food very much. The escargot & oysters were excellent! Our server was very attentive. We will come again.

Lovely, quaint place, steps from the subway, great customer service and delicious burgers. Especially loved the singer Leah (Go on Sundays "Live with Leah") and her musicians. She is a breath of fresh air with a beautiful voice, smile and energy. It's impossible not to enjoy yourself here!
Such a nice place, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and an inviting menu.
We ordered burgers and the fish special; all were outstanding. Great fries. A relaxed, comfortable dinner for a moderate price. Loved it.
