Maison Carlos is a quaint, but vibrant scene. It was full of laughter and conversation. It is a small restaurant, but there were several tables of 4-6. It seemed to be lots of groups of friends and a few couples. I'm not sure a group bigger than 6 could fit in there. The wine selections were great and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the entire experience.
The Vichyssoise and the Onion Soups are to die for; the service not so much. If you want great Vichyssoise or Onion soup then this is the place to go. After that the food is OK.
The service, on the other hand, could be a lot better. When I made the reservation I mentioned that my party and I were going to the Kravis Center for a show. I repeated this to the waiter when we were seated. It took 20 to 25 minutes to get our appetizers and another 20 minute wait for the entree after finishing the first course. In the end, we had no time for dessert. It was very disappointing. I would go again but not before a show.
Always wonderful! Food and staff exceed all expectations!
First time here. Nice food, some dishes a bit better than others, but overall quite good. It was Valentines Day and very busy. Service could have been a bit more attentive, and time to get food was a bit long, but it was a busy holiday time.
We will try it again on a non holiday time. All in all a nice experience.
The food was great and the service was excellent, very friendly. It's a small intimate restaurant, quiet enough for you to have a conversation. Prices were reasonable but not inexpensive. We would definitely go back
Maison Carlos is our “go to” restaurant. It is a warm, friendly white tablecloth restaurant with good food. The plate of delicious zucchini chips served at each table is a special touch.
We received a warm welcome and were happy to be at Chez Carlos from then on. Menu not huge but satisfying... Waiter was great..cheerful and efficient.
Because we had enjoyed this restaurant in the past we invited 4 friends to join us for dinner on a Saturday evening. The food was salty. The portions were very small and we felt overpriced.
The experience was very nice. Atmosphere was lovely and peaceful. Menu was varied and food was delicious. Service was efficient and friendly.
Always have a great experience when eating at Maison Carlos. Every dish I have had there is delicious! The staff as always is great and the ambiance is wonderful. Love eating here, one of my favorite restaurants in downtown West Palm Beach!
Great place. Super service. Carlos is a great restaurateur. His staff while small is very efficient.
Hidden Gem on Dixie Highway.
All good..It is always a pleasant experience.. Food consistently good.
Adorable restaurant! Excellent food and great ambiance. Adorable, small and quaint.
Maison Carlos is a small, comfortable restaurant with an interesting menu. The food was excellent food.
This restaurant never disappoints!!! The food is consistently innovative and delicious. Carlos is an outstanding host and the wait staff is wonderful. It's been one of our favorites for a long time and will continue to be. A MUST TRY!!!
We loved the atmosphere, very comfortable and quiet. Good service. Civilized people. My husband had a pork tenderloin that was very flavorful but definitely overcooked. There was a blob a thick dressing on his salad. It was not tossed. And who ever hear of the French using one of those thick disgusting dressings! My salad did have a nice, flavorful, thin dressing on it and it was tossed. However, several leaves of lettuce had no dressing on them. My risotto tasted like it was made with Velveeta.
Our friends did not go with us because they had been there several times and said the food was very spotty - OK sometimes and bad other times.
As always was great in every way. The veal in particular is outstanding. A wonderful place to go for a casual dinner that has overtones of cooking far superior than most other restaurants.
Maison Carlos is a hidden gem in WPB. In a non descript storefront along Dixie Highway it is easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. If you are paying attention you will be rewarded by an outstanding dining experience beginning with a warm welcome from Carlos and continuing with a compact menu that offers wonderful dishes across the board. Everyone will find something to love from pizza to veal and my personal favorite, linguini with spicy meatballs, pure perfection. Prices are reasonable and you can bring your own wine if you so desire.
Excellent service, warm and quiet ambiance,
innovative menu. We always enjoy dining here. We can always count on a delicious dinner and memorable evening. Highly recommend.
Excellent for quality food, service and friendly atmosphere!!
Great Italian food in a comfortable setting. The service was excellent and all four of us enjoyed our food even though we all had different salads and entrees.
Christmas eve dinner- small family get-together. Every item of food was delicious, service was very good, tasteful decor, gorgeous original paintings. Although the location could be noisy, it was quiet.
We found the food definitely gone down from previous visits also our waiter was not willing to talk to the chef to alter a dish to meet one of our guests needs
Service, atmosphere, & quality of food were all good. Small portions. A little pricey.
Been to Maison Carlos many times. Always great food, great service and a warm friendly greeting. Prices are great, too. Easy strett parking. Highly recommend.
Maison Carlos remains our “go to” restaurant for its great food, service, and ambiance.
Great food and service, Carlos, the owner, was very attentive and wanted to make sure we had an enjoyable dining experience.
A gem of a small neighborhood restaurant with great attention from the chef /owner who overseas every detail- most importantly a very accomplished kitchen
Wonderful all around!
The service, quality of food and ambiance- impressive! Great place for a taste meal (some unique options), conversation and special occasion.
Very interesting choices on the menu, but my wife opted for the yellowtail snapper special and I for the veal special. Both were outstanding. I also tried the crispy pork belly appetizer which was excellent. Finished off with the key lime pie and coffee. I highly recommend Maison Carlos.
We return to Maison Carlos over and over. The food is wonderful, as is the ambience and the service is friendly.
It was a rainy Friday night and we went to Maison Carlos!! It was a very enjoyable, pleasant dinner. Service was amazing with handsome Latino men. The owner stopped by the table and welcomed us!! We all had cocktails and the waiter brought a delicious thinly sliced fried zucchini (not at all greasy). Bread as served warm with butter!! Our appetizers were good, but the entrees were excellent, and then dessert,, we all had flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream! It was a delicious dinner!
Absolute best service. We love the food and environment!
We went for my husband's birthday. The food was mediocre at best. Especially for the price. There were six in our party and the cost was $241- which included a bottle of wine, an escargot appetizer, soup, 3 hangar steaks, chicken Milanese and shrimp risotto. I ordered veal piccata but after taking one bite I sent it back because something tasted so off that I couldn't eat it. I couldn't figure out if it was the veal or the cream in the sauce but I didn't want to eat more in case it made me sick. The steak was just ok and the portabello sauce that accompanied it tasted like Campbell's tomato soup. The risotto was nice and cheesy, but wasn't a good accompaniment to the shrimp and lacked salt and garlic. And I'm not a big fan of salt. I like things on the less salty side. But in this case, everything needed more seasoning. It was all quite bland. And the waiter misunderstood us with the chicken Milanese. It was on the pre fix menu and was supposed to be three courses- appetizer, main and dessert. For appetizer my daughter chose a salad but they didn't bring it. When I questioned the waiter he said it was because the chicken was served atop arugula. But when it came it was just a pounded breaded chicken breast with a salad on top. No sauce or anything. It was lack luster at best. He overheard us talking about a birthday so when he brought her dessert- key lime pie which she did not request- but they assumed she chose that- he put a candle in it and sang happy birthday to her, not my husband! (He also ordered dessert- cream brulee- which was the best thing on the menu but was overly warm). The key Like was good but not traditional. More like lemon meringue pie made with lime. It had a huge meringue on the top and the pie was made with cornstarch not sweetened condensed milk. Honestly, for the money I wish we would have gone to Three Forks. I felt bad because it was a birthday and it was my choice based on the wonderful reviews. We won't be going back.
Orlando tended to our every request professionally and diligently. The good was great and the ambiance romantic
We keep returning to Maison Carlos. We love having the owner on premises, along with his adorable son. The zucchini chips are a wonderful bonus. The food is great. Tuesday night $10 pastas in the summer will surely keep us going back! I enjoyed the Key Lime pie, which was brought out with a candle for my mother's 96th birthday!
I always enjoy Maison Carlos . Never disappointed. Of ours I have my list of special favorites, Vongole, snails in a pail. duo fish of the day. Carlos takes care of each dish that comes out of the kitchen. Such a nice European style restaurant. Love it
nice people, great service, tasty food, can hear yourself talk, always friendly.
Our meal was a real treat. The food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was friendly. We will be back.
