Mainland Grille Ratings and Reviews
Never got to enjoy a meal there. When we arrived, I was told there was a 45 minute wait. I told the hostess I had made a reservation on open table, but she said nothing was open until later. Very disappointed that we drove up there and was told this. We've always enjoyed dining here, but now I hesitate to make a reservation and find out once we arrive that we have to wait so long. At least have the courtesy to call and let us know in advance when there's a problem.
Decent close place to get dinner with the kids. Service is always friendly and attentive. Good live music on Friday (I think) evening makes for a change from just a normal dinner out. Food is pretty good- not great so have not been back as much as prior years with other local options available now.
What a fantastic Meal. The crab stuffed salmon was a perfectly combined gastro-nomical treat. My wife had the amazing chicken dish with a balsamic glaze. We eat out all the time and she was amazed by this sauce. My son ordered the chicken wings in boneless buffalo and a kids pizza. He loved the wings but didn't care for the Pizza sauce. Too chunky for him. Overall it was an amazing meal and we recomend it to anyone looking for a great meal and night out.
We eat here (not often enough) occaisionally for dinner...it's right in our neighborhood. The food and service are always good and the last few Saturday's we ate dinner there, they had live entertainment. Usually guitar players, but, very good! Every time we eat here, I wonder why we don't do it more often! Go, you'll enjoy it!
We were meeting friends and looking forward to catching up with each other. We were seated at a booth which turned out to be right next to the spot where the "one man band" showed up just as our dinner was served. It was so loud (it truly overwhelmed the entire room) that we had to shout across the table. It really ruined the night. You need to decide if that room is a bar or a dining area. It can't be both. To add to the sour notes ... the lettuce wraps are truly forgettable. Our server was very good.
Having recently relocated to the Lansdale area from Kentucky, and previously living in Queens, NY, I have not had such a good meal since leaving NYC in September of last year! The service and waitress, Melissa, was superb! I cannot say enough for her friendliness, helpfulness and overall pleasant personality for a night of dining. She suggested a wonderful drink and assisted us in the menu selection, since this was our first-time dining at Mainland Grill. We are going back on Saturday night, 9/4/15. I'm certain we will become frequent guests!
Had a reservation for 7 PM and were seated right away but did not see a waitress for 20 minutes where we ordered drinks. The drinks came 10 minutes later and we ordered food which did not arrive until after 8 PM, I feel this was a long wait to be served since our reservation was at7. The chairs were too close to the chairs behind you and had to belly up to the table to fit, not comfortable. My wife had the Ruben sandwich and I had the small pizza, the food was very average for the amount of time we had to wait. I get served faster at the Wm Penn Inn.
My fiancé and I took his mother to Mainland Grille for Mothers Day. We heard good things about the food so we were excited to try it out. Throughout our meal out server was completely rude and clearly did not want to be there. He forgot our appetizer, which was okay because he said he would take it off the check. It bothered us a bit because it was not busy at all when we were there so we were not sure what happened. Another server came and gave us boxes since our server was no where to be found. He then came back and instead of showing us the dessert plate like the table next to us had seen from another server, he was so rude and said "do you want dessert or are you done". We just wanted our check. When we got the check he disappeared into the kitchen, we realized he did not take the appitizer off so we sat there and waited for 15 minutes with no site of him. I finally got up and walked over to another server who was so pleasant and took care of us. Needless to say we didn't tip well like we normally do and we have no intentions of coming back. The sad thing is, we really enjoyed the food.
My wife and go to Mainland fairly often on Friday nights, usually with another couple or two. Adam Motto singing makes for a great environment. More classic rock type stuff but he has a pretty big selection that you can request from. Very good bar food (my wife agrees) and you can get the specials that are very good. Many times I've gone to the bar type restaurants and order what sounds like a good chicken, seafood or steak dish/special and it comes out pretty so-so. That is not the case here. They are usually very good. Overall, I'd rather get a good burger, salad, wings, etc., than a so-so "nice dinner", and here you have choices of very good food either way.
There is a great view of the 18th green and fairway. It's "entertaining" to see some of the golfers come into the green (like me!).
Overall, great casual dining and great entertainment!
I have a group of friends of where we go out to lunch every other month and we've been doing it for about 15 years. You have to choose a place that no one has gone to. Well it was my turn and I actually had a another place chosen, and received an email that the place had closed. I then had to start over looking for a place because our date was less than a week away. I found this place and made rreservations for our party of 8. All I can say is this place turned out to be an unexpectant find. The wait staff was good, and the food was fantastic. One of my friends had ordered pasta as one of her choices with her meal and asxked if she could have alfredo suace and the cook hooked her up and it was very tasty. Again this was an unexpectant find
The place was very clean and felt comfortable. The food was excellent. Crabbypretzel was a 10, My crab tortellini was a 10. My soup was an 8 could have used just a little more flavor to make it a ten, My wife loved everything--10. Service was a 10. One man music was a 10. We have been looking for a great local non-corporate restaurant , and now we have found one. We were totally impressed and will be back with friends.
We live close by and enjoy the Mainland Grille. They have updated their menu and (I believe)have new ownership/management in the past year or so. Their servers are friendly, and the food is very good. They have a decent selection of draft beers. I don't buy wine when I go out so no comment on how good the wine list is. We went on Valentines for dinner. There was a special menu. We both ordered from that. I got Chicken Bruschetta and my husband got the Halibut. He thought his dinner was delicious. I enjoyed the chicken very much. One suggestion I have is that for special occasion like Valentines' they might want to include a small dessert. The regular dessert offerings looked delicious but they were full-size and we were too full from our dinners. I would have liked a small taste to top off the evening. But, nice time, good place, definitely recommend The Mainland Grille.
This was my second time dining at the Mainland Grille. The first time was for lunch after a round of golf. This most recent time was for dinner with my family, kids ranged from 7 to 15. Overall, I would say the food was very good, both times I've eaten here. The service, however, for our dinner was courteous, but incredibly slow. They proactively acknowledged this and apologized several times. I think we had 3 or 4 different faces visit our table throughout the course of our meal. I would definitely visit the Mainland Grille again, but I would make sure I didn't have anywhere to be afterwards.
Went with a group of ten after the Skippack Winefest. Everything went smoothing from a service standpoint and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Try the pork on a torpedo, very tasty sandwich as was the ahi tuna sandwich and I heard good reports about the dip sandwich, chicken Mediterranean and the meatloaf. The bartender was a little frazzled while we had drinks while waiting for our table to be ready but it worked out fine. Good place to spend a casual night out with friends. We did not try appetizers, dessert or coffee.
First time trying the wings. VERY good, meaty & done to perfection! Corn chowder seasoned just right. Flatbreads were so good. Son's mini burgers were juicy and not dried out like other places. Service is always friendly and efficient with all staff pitching in when necessary. The manager is always visible and working just as much as his staff. Love Adam on Friday nights too for great music!
