Main + Abbey - Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City
Everyone's food was excellent and we had a great birthday gathering. One glaring issue: the menu had no vegan options for one person in our party. Lots of people avoid avoid animal products these days for health and ethical reasons. Our server and the chef handled this as best they could in the moment and they were very kind, but the restaurant probably needs to address this. They have creative chefs who could easily make unique vegan options so everyone can choose at least one thing from each section of the menu.
Our food was really good. The waitress forgot to put in our appetizer but did bring it later and didn't charge us which was really nice. The prawns were worth the wait.
All 4 steaks at our table were charred. Not sure how you unevenly cook such a small filet.
Great food and our server Sami is the best. We ask to be seated in her area every time we go if she is working. She does an awesome job of checking on you and making sure your drinks are filled. Great dinner! My husband and I shared the tomahawk it was so much we still had food to take home.
Had salmon and scallops. Perfectly prepared and seasoned. Wedge salad was excellent. My wife's Creme Brulee was outstanding. Huge portion.
Love the manager and our waitress always so professional

Valentines dinner...didn’t stay to eat as they only served a few items because of the holiday and didn’t serve anything that was on there normal menu which is what we go there for. Very disappointed...would have been nice to know ahead of time that they weren’t going to serve there normal menu.
I made a reservation for 645pm. I arrived on time and my husband and I ordered our entrees by 655pm. By 740pm we still did not have our food. We asked several times how much longer it would be. We kept being told it would be only 5-6 minutes more. We finally decided to just leave without eating. The menu was very limited for VDay. So we were hesitant to stay but the waitress said that was to make sure that food came out faster since they were so busy. Probably will not dine again.
If you are 10 min late for your reservation they will drop you off the list and give your table away.

Went on Valentines night expecting a great meal.. unfortunately that was not what we got.. While our server.. Sami Jo.. did all she could do the meal was so sub standard there was saving it.. we spent in excess of $200 and left disappointed we did not make a scene as not wanting to ruin other diners experience but never got a response from a phone and direct message.. we've dined here before with great pleasure and hope this is an isolated incident

Waitress took too long to greet and ask for drinks. We reviewed entire menu and decided what to eat BEFORE she even acknowledged us and asked to take drink orders. Needless to say we skipped the appetizer because of this issue.
I ordered the ribeye. I like my steaks rare but usually get medium rare to not gross my wife out. This stake was charred perfectly on the outside and on the edges, but was cold...fridge cold in the middle. This means they put a partially thawed steak on the flame. Baked potato was perfect and what you would expect.
Wife got the juicy loosey. Great at first. Then once my wife got almost to the end the meat looked cooked but was raw. Once again a frozen patty was put on the grill.
The final bill was cheap. Didn’t make a fuss because we both had our fill but while the stay at the hard rock was good, and we will be back, I think we will skip eating here again.
Went with friends to Matt Steel they have never been there , they were very impressed with Main&Abbe food excellent along with concert , we all will be back .
Forget the hype about Main & Abbey’s “new” menu. There are a few different things but nothing that jumps out at the eye. The most extensive change is they have now taken away a choice of two sides when you order an entree, you now only get one side and may pay $6 for your second. Of course the price has stayed the same for less choices. Once again I ordered my steak medium as I alway do, it was well done no red and barely any pink in the center and was charred on the outside. I am fed up with this place and will not return until they hopefully realign themselves someday with new management. Below I have included what Main & Abbey calls an 8oz steak cooked medium.
We had a very nice meal. Things were pretty slow due to the concert that night but our food and wait staff were great so we didn't mind the wait.

We had a reservation on New Year’s Eve. When we showed up they said they were 15 minutes behind on reservations, which was totally fine. They said they would text us when our table was ready. We never got a text and when we went to ask about it they said there was nothing they could do as they were full. We were obviously upset as it was 9:00 at this point and hungry.
The food was so delicious! We all tried something new and enjoyed "sampling" each other's food!
My only negative was that I made reservations for 7:00 p.m. and we finally got seated at a table at 7:30 p.m. Server was very friendly. It was an enjoyable evening, celebrating the New Year!
We had a 6 pm reservation and did not receive our appetizer until 7 pm. After 45 min had passed, we finally asked for bread as we were so hungry. We finally received our bill at 8:30 pm. It should never take 2 1/2 hours to eat a meal. Absolutely ridiculous.
First time there. It was New Year’s Eve so reservation only. Was not told there would be a limited menu and the choices were sub par. Ordered the steak medium well. Cut it open and it was purple and cold. Sent back and had manager deliver our steaks. Charred on the outside and still purple on the inside. This happened on 3 of the steaks that were ordered. The chicken that was ordered had good flavor but was served cold. For the price that they charged and the quality of the food we will not be back!
Our server was awesome but the limited food menu (which for New Years Eve) which we weren’t informed of was subpar. The sea bass was excellent but the steaks were subpar. Very unfortunate as we have been there a lot and never had a bad meal. The limited menu could have been improved on with normal everyday favorites.
We had a great dinner, had to change the time a couple times, but Main and Abbey accommodated us wonderfully! Atmosphere was super as always, Zach welcomed us and talked for a while, and our server Heather was the best!
Good food, OK wine and beer selection, decent service, just remember you’re in a casino and the stale smoke smell is ever-present...
We had the 16 oz rib-eye topped with crab and gruyere. It was so tender and good. You could just cut it with your fork. Very good.
Nice place for business dinner or simply a get together with friends. Warm and very inviting.
We are frequent quests at Main & Abbey. This was truly our first rather bad experience. The filet I ordered came out and was the size of a quarter dollar. My son had the same filet and his was large and looked like it should. How the cook could even send two of the same meals out that didn’t look alike at all is beyond me. The waitress was great but the kitchen was definitely lacking tonight. I think we will give Main & Abbey a rest for awhile.
I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food compared to the price of the food. I don't have a problem paying a good price for a good meal but the portions were small and the chicken over cooked. The service was good which was what kept us from pointing this out that evening!
I thought the food was just ok. The steak didnt have much flavor. The appetizers were ok but nothing special. We got carrot cake for dessert. It was HUGE, but that was the only thing wow about it. The frosting didnt hve much flavor. This is my 4th time there and I have never been blown away.
We were seated right away! Wonderful! Waitress got our drinks and my husband ordered a Captain Morgan sprite. The first drink was clear and no taste of booze. Brought a different one, same. So, if your standard rocks glass holds more than 8 oz, please consider either putting more booze in or making your rocks glasses smaller. A real drink really does have a little bit more than an oz, so quit being cheap with your booze. (not blaming bartender or waitstaff). We will know to stick with the beer there. We had a group of 6, two of them ordered a mushroom Swiss burger. Neither one came with mushrooms. At all. I was also a little irritated to see that you add mandatory gratuity for a table of 6. SIX. Large groups, yes, I can see that. But a table of 6 was ridiculous and I added a generous tip on top of the "mandatory" gratuity, but I guarantee you the other two couples did not. Am I normally this picky at a restaurant? Only when I am paying over $50 an entree and also ordered a bottle of wine off the menu. We could have stuck to Outback, had better service and spent half as much.
This is the best place for steak, however this time our orders were wrong and wasn't made right. Manager asked our opinion and did nothing when we told him our orders were wrong.
This was our second time dining there, the couple with us, it was their first. We were there for Aaron Lewis concert ( which was awesome) went to dinner before the show. Our waitress Sammy Jo was very kind, I believe she just was overwhelmed with the amount of tables she had, and I have been a waitress so I understand. The manager was so polite to us, he noticed our ticket had been sitting awhile.. our food was very good, just on the cold side.. he made it worth our while to come see them again, we weren’t expecting that, but thanked him for his prompt attention and professionalism.. we like coming to Hard Rock, and like this restaurant, will defiantly be back.. carrot cake was amazing.
I had the Scallop dish - they were too salty. The Bleu Cheese dressing on the wedge salad was mediocre.
So was the Lobster bisque. My husband had the Bass - now that was very good.
Quite disappointed. Looking forward to the new menu coming out.
All the food was amazing. The service however was very poor. I do understand that where was a party there but it took 40+ minutes to get out drink. All I had ordered was a beer that came in a can.
Chicken over cooked and dry but they took it off the bill.
This is our favorite restaurant in Sioux City. The service and food are amazing!

Service was amazing and very friendly. Maria was our server and she was very knowledgable and outgoing. Food was "beyond words".....manager stopped by table to check on us...great customer service and attention to detail. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Copper Chief was in town.
