The main meal was poor on this occasion there was no outstanding of what the gravy was made up as a vegetarian I’m glad I asked as bacon was in it!
There was a rowdy bunch which spoilt the ambience whilst i happened to be there . The food was standard it’s a shame as it’s in a beautiful location
Always attentive happy staff ty. Nice atmosphere and drinks and food delicious.
Louisel, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. We look forward to your next visit, take care!
The food was very disappointing. There was no imagination at all. Burgers and and a pile of chips looked like they were dumped on a white plate. No garnishing or anything on the side. Not attractive presentation at all.
Booked our table. On arrival couldn’t find anyone to help us. Reception was cold indeed. Pity they could be so much better being located where they are.
Hi Ruth, we're very sorry that you were let down by the presentation on the meal you received. We will ensure that your comments are taken on board. Thank you very much for getting in touch.
Our table is always clean and reserved ready for us . Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Hi Louisel, great to hear you enjoyed your visit to our pub. Hope to see you again soon!
The menu was very limited and very expensive small portion sizes. Make the menu more varied and then the Magpie would be a very nice place to go. Such a disappointment.
Have not eaten in The Magpie since before lockdown. 1st choice of starter not available (always a disappointment) 2nd choice did not excite me and didn’t warrant the price tag. Main had some good flavours but texture of veg not good. Was offered an alternative but to be honest not feeling like trying anything else that may have
Ordered:Fish Finger Sandwich, Chicken Club, Salmon Fishcakes & Katsu Curry.
The sandwich and chicken club were less than average! Chicken in the club were quite dry. Overall was not nice. Salmon fishcakes were ok. Katsu Curry sauce was not great, quite bland. Hence why, I feel the food were overpriced. When booking was asked if it was for an occasion and I did say for a birthday. I think to top up on customer service, management could have done something a little extra for this special occasion. I was having lunch with my family for 45th before our son goes off to uni.
Great sitting on the terrace as the sun went down, really quite romantic, and perfect lighting once it was dark. Staff here are great. Our waitress was perfect
Hi Timbo21, Lovely to read your comments about your experience, I'll make sure to pass them on to the rest of the "Perfect" team. See you again soon!
Just abit pricey but worth it
Hi Matthewr, great to hear you enjoyed your visit to our pub. We have just launched our Autumn Menu, I hope to see you again soon!
The staff were lovely as ever.
Been coming here for a while and always great experience especially with food, took our 1 year old for lunch and had a great time!
Harry, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review! We hope you have a great day!
Lovely pub with fantastic views over the river. Great staff and service mixed reviews from our group about the food however a lovely evening overall. Pies and chips fab.
Rather scruffy outside, looks a little tired but very pretty overlooking the river
Thanks for taking the time to let us know how we did. Have a great day!
Great food, perfect service.
Five stars! Wow, thank you!
Had a very good experience and meal here. We were very well looked after by the guys serving. Will call again .
Peterg, thank you for your kind words and this great review! We just launched our Autumn Menu, we hope to see you soon!
Lovely garden - great views of the river. Service good and food quality really impressive.
Thank you for your amazing feedback Dave! Hope to see you soon again in our pub!
Lovely riverside setting and friendly service. Food was good too. Good vegetarian and vegan options. Only downside was that the Sunday roast menu on the website wasn’t available for our visit. If you go on a Sunday and want a roast I suggest you double check.
Richardw, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. We'd like to insist that we aim to have our Sunday roast back as soon as we can. We hope to see you very soon. The Magpie
Cold food, stale bread, very poor value.
Really narrow menu, just a few choices for dinner. Slow service. Needs a bit of a refurb- one chair we had was broken and the other had foam coming out of it- more like a chair you’d find in a squat!
We went on Saturday evening at 6pm and were greeted promptly by friendly staff who were very attentive to our needs all evening. Food was very nice but we felt could of been hotter.
Hello Carol, we appreciate you taking the time to leave us this feedback. Have a great day, all the best!
Great atmosphere and very tasty food
Very busy so noise level was high and difficult to hear each other at times but added to the atmosphere so nice to be back in a buzzing atmosphere
Lindav, we strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at our pub We hope to see you soon!
View and service was great but the food was Luke warm, mediocre and lacked any flavour or presentation. We had the burger which was approximately £14.50 and came with no salad, or even a lettuce leaf to dress the plate. It looked uninviting and therefore it was.
Food was nice, staff nice but the service was a bit slow. We waited a long time for food and drinks to come. Maybe this was because it was Saturday. Felt more attention given to people outside.
Sat next to smokers, so not pleasant. Cocktails poor. Other food, wine & service very good.
Had to send one meal back .. salmon was overcooked , that we’d waited an hour for!!
Lovely find on the river. Attentive staff and great atmosphere
Lovely setting, lovely waitress and staff, decent food.
The Magpie is a lovely place to have a drink but very poor to eat there. The choice is very limited and very expensive.
Port in a storm, but lovely food and good service.
Great area to sit outside overlooking the river, really lovely food with friendly staff giving table service. Not too busy, just right as people have to book a table on line due to covid safety.
Very good experience overall, attentive staff and food came without a delay.
Didn't actually eat here but a really lovey pub. The garden is delightful and we had some lovely views out onto the Thames. The service was really great and they had some good drinks on tap. it was quite pricey but pretty much what you'd expect in London. Will definitely be returning.
Didn’t have food
Really polite , helpful and friendly staff.
Gave us a glass each of bubbly Foc as it was our Anniversary
The service was exceedingly slow. The waitresses were nice but it was not easy to get their attention. The baked Camembert was £15 and had been cut in half so was sufficient to share but expensive for what it was. There was not a huge choice on the menu and some strange taste combinations. I enjoyed my Katsu curry; although the sticky rice seemed very soft.
The meal took too long for to arrive and our four year old flagged and then slept through the meal. Even though we booked for 6.30 we don’t eat until 7.45. We were offered the excuse that ‘the oven is playing up tonight but the chicken pie that ‘takes time in the oven’ obviously took too much time and was burnt.
I like the staff and they saved the day here by being so nice but it’s not a place that welcomes children specifically (the kids linguine is too sophisticated for eg) The best places make sure a toddlers meal hits the table pretty promptly so the adults get a fighting chance of a decent meal time.
Service was AMAZING, so much personality, friendly and knowledgable, will return for sure.
Such a nice review to read, thank you so much. Until the next time we meet, take care!
Have a great evening at the Magpie. Wonderful service and superb attention to the customer needs
We appreciate your positive review about your recent experience with us! We look forward to your next visit! Take care!
Lovely little pub with seating outside by the river, our server was nice and friendly and it was nice and quiet inside with maybe 4 or 5 tables seated but the service was very slow. There appeared to be 4 staff plus the manager and it took ages to take food and drink order and then about 15 minutes to bring drinks back
Food was ok, fish a bit over done by chips were nice so it was reasonable
Very homely and welcoming and staff attentive, and of course being next to The Thames and the view is a perfect location.
Must be 40 years since I was last in this pub - in my youth. Service was great and warmly welcomed. Food was great and prices good too - was a central point for my business meeting so no doubt will be back. Thanks for looking after us
Richardk, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit to our pub. Thanks again for the recommendation, and have an amazing day!
