Welcome to The Magpie.
We pride ourselves as a beautiful riverside gastropub with an amazing dining room overlooking the Thames, serving fresh seasonal food with an impressive range of real ales, craft beers, an extensive gin list and a great wine list.
We offer full table service in every part of our premises.

We are a dog-friendly pub as long as they are with well-behaved hoomans but do not allow dogs in our dining area if you would like to bring a four-legged friend please let us know and we can seat you in our bar area.
Luckily enough, we are lucky to have a car park just across the road if you are coming from afar.

We are now an Over21 pub only, please bear this in mind.

There are a few parking options. The first is just across the road, The Walled garden car park. First hour is free after that its £1.50 for the day. Free after 7pm. The second in just off the Avenue a 3 min walk away (same charging applies). We also have a 35 foot mooring, if you are lucky enough to own a boat you could simply moor up to the pub.

I was the only Asian in the group and the host. The waiter kept addressing my white friend throughout the entire meal.

Great lunch. Lovely items on the menu & plenty of nice wine choices by the glass. Cheerful, friendly staff too.

We had to wait a while to be seated, which was frustrating as there did not seem anyone around. However once we were, the service from the waitress, Kat was excellent. The food was delicious too.

It was a busy evening at the Magpie and the service was a little slow. Staff were very helpful but clearly busy. The food was very nice but portion sizes are small for the cost. The decor is much nicer now following the re paint. Overall a very pleasant evening.

Attentive service, great setting. Tasty food and big portions. However, whe wait in between dishes was too long though, around one hour, so unfortunately not coming back

The ambience service all very good, I was a bit puzzled to why I needed to have my lettuce as a wedge, very difficult to eat, would have preferred it just normally. The food other than that very tasty.

Lovely restaurant by the River, accommodating for pets, excellent and attentive staff, plus fish curry was excellent, just wish there was more of it, maybe need to order a naan next time.
