Magnolia’s was recommended to us and since we already had dinner reservations at other restaurants, we decided to eat there for lunch. It was excellent—great service. We shared the potatoes chips with blue cheese—really tasty and could have sufficed as a meal for the both of us. I had the shrimp and sausage with grits with a nicely spiced sauce but not too spicy and my wife had shrimp and scallops with grits which was also excellent. We had a cocktail that we asked to be made not too sweet and s glass of wine each which was a very fair pour for the price. We enjoyed the experience.

We were down in Charleston for a long weekend and wanted a special meal and we found it at Magnolias! Our favorite of the weekend. Excellent, excellent service - hope you are lucky enough to get Brian as your waiter, too.
Food was great. I gave it 4 stars because of the ambience. It was loud. Also, I was expecting a more business causal dress code. The dress code ranged from very casual to dressy.

I chose Magnolias for my birthday dinner and was very pleased. My server, Niki (?), was pleasant and knowledgeable. I ordered the boiled peanut salad and their catfish entree, both of which were ample and delicious. For dessert I chose the pecan cheesecake brownie. Niki delivered it with a lit candle which was s nice touch, especially because I was dining alone. The ambiance was nice. Not too crowded, the tables were well spaced to give each party personal space. The bar was nearby and sometimes it got a little noisy with the patrons erupting in laughter. But it wasn’t too. distracting. A very nice place for a special evening.
Every time I go to magnolias it gets even better each time which I️ didn’t think could happen!!! Outstanding food, service, atmosphere, etc!! I’ll be back again for sure!!!! Such good food & a good time!!!!! See you next week !!
Sunday brunch.... very enjoyable. The bread was amazing! We don't usually even eat the bread places bring out, but thank goodness we did! Crusty with good chew, but lacking that too sour taste of some sour dough breads. We both enjoyed our meals.... country fried steak and spicy shrimp and sausage with grits. Berry flavorful and well prepared. Service was great and cocktails were very good.... so nice to have great alternatives to the tired old bloody Mary! I had an oranges spiced drink that was great.... hubby had a rosemary gin drink that wad very refreshing.

We had a delicious Sunday brunch today. Scott was a terrific waiter. I had the parmesan crusted flounder - delicious! We were a table of four and were seated in the back area which proved to be quieter, although next time I may request the front room. It had a great energy and vibe. We all ordered seafood dishes and loved both the presentation as well as the flavors of each dish. I can see why locals return to Magnolia’s, and every visitor should try it at least once.

We were celebrating a friend being in town. We had a wonderful meal. Two of us had the fresh catch of the day which was the flounder. Best flounder we have ever had outside of our own kitchen. The other person had the pasta and seafood which she loved also. We were not rushed and they made us feel special. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
Always superb and delicious! The freshness of their food is beyond any restaurant in Charleston! The service is friendly and very knowledgeable of the food served at Magnolia's.
