Excellent experience. We were there with 2 other couples for my husband's birthday. Highly recommend.
Oysters small for price Pasta was over cooked Waiter acted like he did not want to be there. Steak was average
We enjoyed the entire experience.. Food was delicious, not rushed and our server Melissa was top notch
Service was excellent and the food was fabulous. I would certainly recommend the Red Snapper or Pork Chop.
The menu choices were great we had steak and it was tender and juicy. Side choices had a nice variety. Melissa was our server and was top notch. Not overboard and let us enjoy our dinner but never needed to ask for any refills etc.
Our servers name was Sonny. He did a wonderful job. We enjoyed the beef vegetable soup very much which he suggested. Caesars salad was also very well prepared. My wife enjoyed her snapper. My steak was prepared the way I liked. Garlic smashed were very good. Sonny suggested dessert, but we were full to the brim. I hope to be back next month.
Food was great. The service was outstanding. Was one of the best steaks I ate
We ordered the surf & turf dinner and lobster tail was burnt and could not eat it. We told the waitress and it seemed like it was shrugged off. Instead of offering a dessert or something to cover the problem, nothing was said. We have always enjoyed eating at the Magnolia House, but this was an exception. Sorry.
Perfect, friendly atmosphere. Jazz saxophonist was great for my birthday
The oyster salad was excellent. The snapper was overwhelmed by sauce and vegetables. The lamb was fatty, otherwise, tasty. Entries were nicely cooked. The service was thoughtful and attentive.
Cute quaint restaurant. Just don't settle for a bad table. We have dinned there so many times and after making a reservation 3 months out the host seated us in a far back room against a wall. COME ON GET IT TOGETHER!! Request Alan as your server he is so sweet. All dishes were ordered were great.
My birthday
Our server, Alan (sp?) was AMAZING. All of his recommendations were spot on!
Table was up against the wall my back very close to person at table behind us. We asked for a different table and was told nothing available in the whole restaurant yet no one sat at many of the empty tables were still empty when we left. Social skills of young man that seated us needs a lot of improvement not a good experience. We will not eat there again.
Hi, we ate Friday night and Saturday night. Host lady was beyond unprofessional and shouldn’t be at a fine dinner restaurant. Ugly They forgot silverware the first night so we ate appetizers with our hands. Asked 3 times. Food was great the first night Friday. Saturday night host was still ugly. Sever was very kind Saturday. It took 2 hours to get our food. Think they forgot about us. People were gone that ordered 30 min or more after us. Ordered medium well and blood was running out of both steaks. Waited 2 hours after we ordered. Just not what was expected in a fine dinning restaurant.
Great service, treated like family, recommend to all.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, wonderful service!
Service and food was awesome. Steaks were done perfectly and even though the wedge salad was a little different than most it was delicious. I would recommend Magnolia House to everyone who wants to have a special dinner.
Love this place! Told the people sitting next to me on our flight about it and they had dinner there and loved it!
My steak 🥩 was very tender. Garlic potatoes was the first time ever having them, they were the boom!
I had two issues one was I had to ask for bread with my meal and when I got it, there was something black on the butter. Was not very happy with that.
Overall I rate it a 4 Star
This is coming from a well travelled foodie. My wife and I dined at Magnolia House this past weekend for our anniversary which was noted on the reservation but never acknowledged....no big deal as it is our anniversary. The evening started off well with drink orders brought timely. Some time had past and our waitress who was pleasant came back to our table and started to take our order again forgetting she already had then it dawned on her she had not brought a bread basket. Though not crowded the meal took longer than it probably should but the chef's special oysters were great. The meal came and my wife's grilled salmon was very good. Then the not so good experience began. I ordered a steak medium well which I typically do knowing in most restaurants means it will come out medium. This steak came out cold and close to rare, the asparagus spears I order for $9 came out cold with no seasoning and there were FOUR spears, the glass of cabernet I ordered to enjoy with my meal came out literally after we had finished dinner. When I told our waitress and showed her over half the steak left on my plate she said why didn't you tell me....I said you had not been back to our table. Nothing was offered to compensate for the experience. Not the worst dining we ever had but by no means did this live up to what Kelly English (owner/chef) describes in his literature and video. Sorry but if you ask for reviews they should be honest.
Great Service Great Food Great Experience Will Return
Slightly off from their usual excellence.
The food was absolutely terrible and way overpriced.
Catfish with pecans was excellent. Server was attentive. Saxophonist in adjacent room louder than necessary.
Enjoyed the experience. Can't wait to go again. Server was absorbed in another table but it was overall very good.
the food was outstanding, as good as any high priced steak house anywhere
your sraff was great. I order fried oyster and they had something on them I would have ready had them without this. The steak was good and everything else was okay. Was a little Pricey.
Rubber glove in my salad, steaks weren’t cooked as requested(one was undercooked, one was over cooked), dessert beignets were raw in the center. Waiter was very good, but the kitchen needs some help. They did comp meal and gave us credit for breakfast at another restaurant for the next morning, but how do you even compensate for giving someone a rubber glove in their salad? Do not see myself going back.
Service was slow. Salads were drenched in dressing. Soup was cold and had to be sent back. Waiter apologized on three different occasions. On the upside, the steak and sides were delicious and well prepared. Overall the restaurant needs a makeover and the staff needs more personality.
The food was delicious. But I think the prices were a little high.
We ate last night at Magnolia House and it was fabulas. The steak was cooked to perfection and the service was wonderful.
We ordered the fried green tomatoes for our appetizer & they were delicious! We shared the surf n turf & that was perfect for two people. The filet melted in your mouth & the lobster was sweet. We had a bottle of Silver Palms with our meal. I highly recommend this meal!
Our server Amy was the BEST. She was on top of everything. Also food was GREAT. Always eat there when we go to the GULF. Would recommended Magnolia House to all. Again the service is very, very good.
An excellent dinner. Service was friendly and attentive and food was great. Tried the bourbon flight and fried oysters, and both were excellent. I would recommend Magnolia without reservation.
I would have rated this restaurant higher except for the following: they were out of most of the wine we were interested in ordering, they were understaffed and therefore the service was seriously lacking and though my dinner (lamb chops) was delicious my husbands steak was mediocre at best.
The service was not what you expected at a restaurant of this standard.
The waitstaff was amazing. The chef sent out a special appetizer for us to try, which was a homemade chicken salad on a special cracker. Amazing! The filet was perfect! My lobster was perfect! My oysters were good but lacking in presentation. Overall, we will be back to try something different.
Food was very good. I had lamb chops, wife had sea bass. Desert was excellent also, flaming creme brûlée with a surprise of beignets alongside. First class meal.
My waiter was not helpful at all he did not tell me what today's special was did not bring any hot bread and butter out until we requested it was not helpful at all if I could I would fire him.
