Food wasn’t too good. Soup was cold. Ran out of sour cream, greens for salad and sparkling water. Just mediocre food. Kelly English should come and taste the food out of his kitchen.
Evrry thing was wonderful
The staff were pleasant and made sure we were enjoying our dining experience
Our food never got delivered because it didn’t get ordered. When we asked where our food was, they said the kitchen printer malfunctioned yet other people were getting food around us. Manager made an excuse instead of dealing with the issue. Not going back.
It was wonderful. Server was excellent as was the food.
Our server, Melissa, was wonderful. She felt like family. The food was outstanding! I definitely will go back. We had a great time!
My wife’s birthday couldn’t have been better. Out server Nick deserves high praise for his mastery of all our needs. Will come again
Disappointing, not terrible, just disappointing. Service was great. Unfortunately, after BR Prime most anything would be disappointing, in fairness....
Absolutely wonderful atmosphere!
The menu has a good variety, but is not overwhelming. All dishes ordered, appetizer and entrees were perfect! Could not say more positive things about our experience. Our waiter was pleasant and as helpful as we needed.
We will return, many times!
Great meal. Fried lobster was cook perfect. The ribeye steak was tender and juicy. Service was excellent. Will be back soon.
We ate here once a couple of years ago and it was good, so decided to try it again. Overall, we had heard that the quality has gone down hill recently but we decided to try it anyway, and we should have listened to the advice. They had a guy playing music in the bar and the happy hour was good, so I’d recommend going here for drinks only and somewhere else for food. The food overall was disappointing. The mashed potatoes were really good, and the crab dip was pretty good too. However, the crab cakes were awful - fishy, undercooked, and the sauce was odd. We ended up asking for them to be taken off the check, which they did do. The bbq shrimp was just ok. Also undercooked, rubbery, and not much flavor. The salad dressing on the “wedge” salad was down right yucky. Asked for vinaigrette and that was weird too. The staff was friendly and no issues with service. Again, bar atmosphere, drinks, and happy hour specials were great, just not the food.
Food was great . We love our server Melissa we have had her before when we dine there last Sept. Drinks also very good. Love the guy that plays music. All a great time.
The food is excellent as well as the service! Make sure to try the fried lobster, fried zucchini and the fillet Mignon. It was so good, we went back the next night.
Melissa was our ssrver and she was one of the best servers we have ever had!! Very knowledgeable and courteous!! Always there if we needed her but not obtrusive!! The food was delicious!! The fried oysters were the best we have ever eaten!! Salads and steaks were great too!! Five star experience!!
I cannot pin point what it was exactly but the ambiance felt more like a business conference room luncheon than a nice dinner with my husband. The room and decor felt like it was definitely lacking something.
The server was very nice but it was not service that you should expect from a upscale restaurant especially not with their prices.
The sea bass was a little salty but over all good. The most expensive dish which was the surf and turf was just underwhelming and had entirely too much blue cheese... opinion may vary depending on how much you like blue cheese.
Over all I just felt underwhelmed and spent nearly the entire dinner talking about what was missing. I felt like I was waiting for “Jan from Accounting” to make a speech and then hand everyone a voucher for their meal...
This is a great place to eat for a special occasion. Nice ambiance and quiet. Food was excellent. Our waitress, Melissa, was great. She was nice, friendly, efficient, and attentive to our needs. We were celebrating my birthday and our dessert arrived with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. We had the fried crab claws with an aioli sauce for dipping. Delicious. Filet mignon with mushrooms was great and cooked perfectly medium rare. Dessert was a chocolate something or other. Can't remember the name, but it also was delicious. It was a lovely evening and worth the money.
Some items were very good and some were just ok.
I took my husband to Magnolia House for Fathers Day. He order the lamb, medium, however it was served well done. I ordered the filet, medium, and it also was served very well done and dry. I refused to accept the steak and refused the “free desert” offered as compensation for not having dinner. The waitress took the steak that was not eaten off the bill and acted as if she did us a favor. When I asked why the manager did not stop by her answer was that we were not charged for the steak. We will not go back and will not recommend this restaurant.
Overall good food and service.
The food and service were very good. The crab claws were some of the best I've ever had but the BBQ shrimp lacked flavor. Not bad, just a little flat on flavor. I would definitely go back.
Magnolia House has a good selection of meals on the menu. The service was outstanding.
The food is not worth the cost!!! Mix and Mingles food is 100x better for a portion of the cost...
The meal was excellent. Beer braised beef ribs were outstanding. The service was excellent. Well worth the price
As always the food was delicious and the service was gracious. We enjoyed several appetizers and ate from the bar bites menu and it was all delicious! The addition of fried spinach and onion straws with the crab claws was an added surprise. The deviled egg salad dressing was just what it’s name states and the short rib sliders were unctuous and flavorful. We took the chocolate mousse torte for later and it didn’t disappoint!
Everything was outstanding. Food, service, ambiance. Very minor complaint. Saxophone player was very good but was just a little too loud. We could still talk but had to listen carefully because music was a little loud.
excellent service , food was great, server paid close attention to all of our requests
Horrible steak. I actually though I had went to a buffet that had steak because this has so much grissle an fat. Just no worth the dollars.
Reservation was for 8 people on Mother’s Day. 1 high chair was asked for in the request but never provided. My brother arrived a few minutes early after driving from New Orleans but had to insist to be seated prior to the rest of the groups arrival. They had a Mother’s Day menu which was reasonably priced and included a modest buffet and entree included. The second incident was when my brother ordered the steak and eggs which was on the entrees menu and clearly stated 3 eggs any style. Our server, Latoya told him he could not have his eggs poached when he ordered. She said he could only have scrambled or sunny side up. He politely said please just ask the chef. I’m not sure if she knew what poached eggs were but they are certainly a style. The third incident was when I discretely tried to tell Latoya that I would like to pay for my Mother’s meal. She made a scene and nobody understood what she was saying. She was not able to articulate her own confusion. Long story short, she thought our meal was complementary from the casino but we were just locals trying to dine. When our food arrived, my brothers meal was cold and had to be sent back. He said his steak and eggs was comparable to Waffle House. Upon inspection, I tended to agree however he said it would have tasted better at WH. The steak was very thin and kind of an embarrassing presentation for a fine dining establishment. She gave my food to my other brother and both of us just ate what was served to us. The biscuits probably would have been great if hot but were served cold. The final incident happened with the bill. She brought me my check and I placed my credit card in the folder and when she returned she had run my card for more than what was stated on the bill. When I inquired if gratuity was included she was befuddled and didn’t know how the mistake was made. When she returned several minutes later she said she added a drink to my ticket somehow. Service horrible. Food not good. Shame since place is nice
The food had really good flavor. Our waitress was Breann and she was fantastic. We will definitely be going back.
Pretty decorated environment; pastries were good for the mother's day brunch. I love it when you go somewhere, and experience a staff that works together. The only thing i do not like at all, is not only here, but a lot of buffets where fruit is served and there are FRUIT FLIES!!
Our waiter Nick was awesome. So much so that we asked for him the next day.
We had a great time! The food was great and the food was excellent! Hazel
Each time my lady and myself come to the casino we try to eat at the Magnolia house because of the food etc. Hope to be back soon
We arrived early and were seated right away. This is a great experience overall. Our wait staff was attentive, the bread was warm and soft. Out entrees were very good. I want to return to try a few other things! Very enjoyable experience!
The wait staff was very attentive. We ordered the famous surf and turf, which I was a little disappointed in. It was a very adequate size fillet mignon with deep fried oysters and blue cheese inside with two types of sauce on the top. It was a lot to take in however the meat was cooked excellent and I did like the blue cheese. The oysters did not taste like anything and for me would’ve preferred a regular surf and turf type of meal. It did not come with the side however I shared it with my husband and we did not go away hungry. I would recommend this at the Harris Casino as a very nice place to have dinner
Seated in the back room .....would have liked a better view but the food was excellent. Had the night’s special of scallops and prawns over a rich couscous. My husband had the reddish topped with crab and shrimp in a won sauce.
All members of our party enjoyed our meals. We were the only ones besides a table of one at 7pm. I don’t know if it was an off night or if it’s like this most nights. I sure hope not!
Good food and nice atmosphere.
Met family and had reservations for 7pm. seated in a room with only another couple and door was closed for privacy and good conversation. Appetizers were good and large enough to share. Drinks were wonderful. Dinner was very good. Two fish dinners - Sea Bass and Grouper and two meat dinner - Short rib and a New York Strip. All were happy with their selections. Too full for dessert. Had such a great time. We went back Friday night - just the two of us and were surprised to have a Sax player - Jordan belted out wonderful tunes. Little pricey but we knew it was the upscale restaurant.
Way less than expectations but so much has to do with wait staff. Ambiance okay nothing special for a high end restaurant. Our waiter was not engaged at all. When asked about menu items he didn’t know and didn’t offer to find out. That has never happened before at a restaurant of this level
My oysters had pieces a of shell in 5 of the 6 plated. My entree was cooked perfectly but my partners was greasy and fatty. Clearly not what was expected but the waiter never returned to ask about the dish. We ate without any further interest from the staff until check time. Paid bill and out. Restaurant was not busy I’m guessing waiter just had a really bad night. His assistant was attentive and pleasant but clearly not empowered to help us. Many other diners have given good reviews. So I’ll just say I won’t be back.
Ate there 2 times on recent trip. Both meals along with excellent service were the highlight of my trip.
