This is the third time at Magnolia....just did not hit the mark this time.
Prork chop was good. Zucchini gratin not so much. My boyfriend's fish was ok.
Server was horrible. Felt out place. Managers walked around to every table except ours. As if we didn’t belong
Everything was cooked just right & flavors were great!! The social distancing was going and the staff was very knowledgeable about protocols. We loved our dinner!
Great food, the NY Strip was so moist and juicy. Seabass excellent. The crab soup was the best I have ever had!
Not our 1st time eating here. We love the service, the atmosphere and mostly the food is outstanding!
Crab bisque soup is superb
Surf and Turf was outstanding
Staff is awesome excellent service!
Disappointing. Service was good but food was just OK especially for the price. Ambiance was lacking for an upscale dining experience
Where to start. Husband and I ate later in the day. It want that busy. But the waiter seemed to never come around. My husband ordered a steak medium rare, it came out well done. I had a sea bass. It was good. For desert I ordered a creme brûlée. It took 45 for it to come out. And when it did. It was not good. It was clumpy, the sugar was burnt. You can tell they rushed to make it. It’s a chilled dessert. But the custard was still warm. Again, very clumpy. I couldn’t let anyone know, because the waiter never came around. By the time he did, we just asked for the check and left. I should have listened to other reviews. GO to RUTHS Chris Steakhouse. It’s worth it more and the service is better.
Food was amazing, service was amazing, LaToya was FANTASTIC! Very highly recommend!
The food was amazing! We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. It was topped with crawfish and lump crab meat. Sooo good! They definitely weren’t stingy on the topping either. The service was phenomenal! Would definitely would go back!
We typically enjoy the food so much. Disappointed this time - especially as we were celebrating multiple birthdays. Caesar salad was very dry. Braised rib ordered by birthday boy and long time 7 Star was cold but did not want to complain to sweet waitress or bring positive mood of party down as first outing in a while due to COVID. My lamb chops were dry - def needed sauce. Was pricey for lack luster results. The dessert was amazing so that was nice.
We have dined here 3 or 4 times and have never been impressed. The quality is decent but inconsistent. The service is the same. Never great, and sometimes, like last night, less than good. Not rude, just bad. Our server just walked up to the table & stood there- Didn’t ask if we had questions, didn’t greet us. It was odd. The food was decent, but the lackluster service made for a less than enjoyable experience. For the prices, I expect better. I’d go elsewhere for my “nice” dinner in the future.
Crab legs yummy 😋. My family ordered the steak prime rib and filet. Son ordered the chicken salad. They were so so sweet!!! Loved the food loved the service!!!!
Great selection of food and variety of appetizers
The server provided excellent service. Food was prepared well. They put us in a back room by ourselves and it was too quiet and everything echoed. The furnishings in the room were sparse. I ate in the front dining room in the past and had a much more positive experience
Amazing restaurant!!!! The zucchini Squash au gratin was awesome!!!! It’s my second time dining at this place and I will definitely be back for a third!!! The food was cooked to perfection!!! The service was excellent!!! Two thumbs up on everything!!!!
Waiter was awful. Had to ask for water... had to ask for a knife, etc. Also, with COVID-19, noticed several things the waiter did that not meet safety/cleanliness guidelines.
Food quality not up to par. The crab bisque was flavorful and notable crab pieces in it, however it was not up to temp, barely above room temperature. Ordered the boudin stuffed chicken served on a bed of spinach as an entre. Spinach was heavily wilted and the entire meal was more of a mushy mess than anything else. Sauce was extremely salty. ( I like salt but even I could not enjoy it). This was a perfect example of an entre dying under a heat lamp.
The second meal ordered began with the Salad wedge which was served with cherry tomatoes and olives. They forgot the dressing. By the time we were able to get the servers attention and actually received the dressing, it was not worth eating. The second entre ended up being the bright spot. A perfectly cooked ribeye. Tender and flavorful.
The battery operated candles added a nice touch to the no music atmosphere. (Sarcasm at its best). We left and walked straight out to The Blind Tiger and ordered 2 stiff drinks an order of wings. Magnolia House used to be one of our favorites. I think we will save the $120 next time.
Your crab cakes are excellent.
Unfortunately my meal this time was disappointing. I will take partial blame as I didn’t ask how the succotash was cooked. I really like this but it was cooked with tomato which was not good. Also the fish was basted in some type of mustard sauce which wasn’t appealing.
Very Disappointed in our experience. It was our 52nd Wedding Anniversary so it was a special occasion. We eat at 5 star restaurants so we were expecting much better service. Our waiter had the personality of a rock. He NEVER went over the menu with us like we heard other waiters doing. He never told us anything about the wine menu even though I asked numerous questions about the wine. I saw later that I could have ordered a fleet of wine. My ravioli filled with goat cheese was not only luke warm, the raviolis were extremely hard. Not cooked enough. The appetizer of crab cakes were like they were microwaved. Even though we told our waiter it was our 52nd Wedding Anniversary, he never offered us any dessert. Several people that came on a casino told us how terrible their meal was. Sorry, I expected better.
Overpriced for average food. Service was attentive.
I thought the decor could of been a little Bit more classier for a steak house. And the noise was only loud because of one table of woman
Too expensive for what you get. $9 for a few strawberries and blueberries. One dinner did not come as described in menu. Supposed to be hot grilled chicken over lettuce: came as cold chicken salad with mayo etc. All ala carte. Music not loud but a lot of horns playing which got monotonous after a while. Took a long time to get meal after ordering and not crowded.
Poor quality of food my steak was not tender appetizers not taste.
Pleasant experience. Well social distanced for Covid circumstances.
Very nice staff with timely service.
Food was tasty and cooked to order.
Crab claws were outstanding.
The selections of sides was very limited. We both ordered fillets or better and I must say they were not very good. They were a little fatty, very small and very overcooked. Mine was like shoe leather so I barely ate any. I’m not the type to send it back even for the crazy price I paid. Next time I will follow my instincts and go to Ruth’s Chris
Crab and brie soup was fantastic. Wedge salad was not like a regular wedge salad that I am used to...but it was great too. Maybe should be called something else. Also had the seabass over jalapino orzotto and that too was great. No room for dessert. Wish it was a little less expensive so I could go there more often. A great meal !!!!
Everything was great. Our party had a variety of food. Steaks, crab cakes, catfish, tuna, creme brulee all excellent. Service was perfect. Highly recommend.
Basically enjoyed my visit but food undercooked and not delivered/forgotten. Do not like the social distancing thing nor masks could not understand wait staff because of mask
Great food. Service a bit slow, but probably caused by labor shortage.
A great evening! The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back!
Waiter forgot our salad, had to ask three times. Steak had good flavor, but presentation was appalling for an upscale restaurant..steak on plate with our side, Gulf snapper was good..asked for box to take home. I was presented with a box and no lining (foil or paper) and food leaked out. Usually an upscale restaurant would take in kitchen and box up. So, all considered.it was disappointing. Would not reccommend.
My friend and I really enjoyed our dinner. We started off with the gulf crabmeat augratin. It was a good tasting appetizer but filling. My dinner was the filet lobster and shrimp dinner for $85. It came with smashed potatoes (I switched it to baked potato) and asparagus. The filet was an 8 oz and was good. The lobster was delicious!! And the shrimp was very good. I would recommend this meal. My friend had the parmesan sea bass and she switched out the jalapeno orzotto and ordered the smashed potatoes instead. She said her meal was very good. We ordered the creme brulee for dessert. It came flaming and came with what I would consider zeppoli's with it. The only thing about the flame is the waiter brought it flaming and left. We had a hard time putting the flame out which made the top a little burnt tasting. I would have thought the waiter would stay to put it out for us. But then he was not very friendly. We also had a table across from us that was very very loud. They were gamblers and they spend a lot (I knew a lot about them since they talked very loud). The women's drunken laugh was so annoying. I wish someone would have asked them to lower their voice. But I imagine a good tip is given by them so no one was going to ask them to tone it down. But all in all I would go here again when I am back in Biloxi.
Horrible service, food at best OK. Ambiance was non-existent. Steak and Shake was light years ahead of the "fine dining". $100 for a $20 dinner....
I come from Tennessee every year for my birthday. The food and service are both fabulous.
My 14 once New York was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Wife had sea bass which was also excellent.
We visited Magnolia House for my wife's birthday celebration dinner, and we were not disappointed in any way. Not being seafood lovers, of which there is an abundance of appetizers and entrees available, we concentrated on steak offerings. My wife had the fillet mignon, butterflied, and I had the 12 oz strip, both prepared perfectly to order, and absolutely juicy and delicious. For sides, we each had an enormous baked potato, smothered in melted butter, along with grilled asparagus, and exquisite hollandaise sauce toppings. During dinner, we enjoyed generous well made cocktails, and knowing of my wife's birthday, our waiter served a complimentary dessert for two of chateau briand. This was a very enjoyable and satisfying experience for us, and I would certainly recommend that you give it a try.
The restaurant itself was pretty cool looking. However, the food was just ok. The salmon was undercooked, the shrimp overcooked, and the drinks were underwhelming. I did bump up the rating because they are still adjusting to the post COVID-19 restaurant experience so I’m understanding of that. That being said, I’m glad I used my diamond celebration dinner instead of paying out of pocket for this meal.
