Magna Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My boyfriend and I came to this restaurant on a whim. Although we were celebrating our seven year anniversary, we didn’t have anything planned. We decided to look up restaurants on open table, and this restaurant was near by and had good reviews. We decided to try it out and we were impressed! We had a wonderful time! The service was top notch, the food was delicious, especially the dessert, and the margarita hit the spot!
We had concert tickets and made a reservation for dinner 2 hours prior thinking this was ample time. Even though the restaurant wasn't full (not too big to begin with), we were seated and proceeded to wait. Finally got some water, but waited for drink order to be placed, dinner order to be placed, and kept being told by the limited staff that someone called in sick so they were really busy. Sorry.....not my problem, then don't accept any more reservations! Took multiple trips by us going up to the waiter, and them coming to us, to find out they can't make a martini tonight. Finally order a bottle of wine, wait again to get it open and served. Finally place dinner orders, get those, never received any bread although every other table did. We finally just paid and left. Food was decent enough, just couldn't enjoy with the delays.
I had read reviews on Magna and decided I needed to try it. It looks simple from the outside, but inside is spacious and lovely. The service was good and the food delicious. Great apps, great pasta dishes, and meat and poultry. Something for every lover of Italian cuisine. Reasonably priced too. We will be back for sure.
Proximity to Citi Field is its greatest benefit. We found the restaurant because of its Open Table rating, and we don't understand how it gets such high scores. This is a perfectly decent red sauce Italian restaurant that has reasonable prices, but is nothing special. The wait staff is very friendly and because the place was relatively empty they were more than happy to let us have a leisurely dinner, which was a pleasure. The food was OK, nothing more or less than that, but we appreciated the efforts of the employees.
I ate the most delicious and fresh pesto I have ever had! The homemade pasta was outstanding and cooked to perfection. We were a party of eight and every guest enjoyed their meal. The wait staff was friendly and professional. I would go back again and again if I lived in the area.
we came to celebrate 3 March birthdays today ... always have a great dining experience at Magna as their service is excellent [Fabio and his wife Barbara are great hosts] ... never a complaint, always a compliment ... awesome Sicilian dishes and a GREAT tasting Tiramisu!! ... keep up the great work Magna, BRAVI!!!
I enjoye our experience immensely. Our family came here after a funeral mass and we needed a place where we could eat together as a family. From the owner to our servers, everyone understood what we were experiencing and went out of their way to accommodate us which made the day a little better.
Food was delicious and ambience was very nice. I would highly recommend.
Went here with my wife and sister in law. It was New Years so the place was empty.
The calamari was a little too rubbery for me and the baked clams were slightly salty with the sauce. There salmon entree was good.
Service was generally from the manager who was nice. Overall I think the restaurant is good but it's not a drop-everything-because-you-have-to-go type of place.
Excellent dining. Each of the 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts was delicious. Pear salad (bacon, cheese) was unusual and a treat. My wife is extremely fussy about her favorite dessert, apple tart, but was raving about Magna's. The pasta with the various dishes was excellent. Basically as I said everything was tasty. Of course, Fabio was charming and the service attentive. Although we are from Boston, this is my wife's and my second visit and my daughter's and fiancee's third. It has always been delicious. We make a special effort to dine here whenever close. My one quibble on ambiance: we ate very early (6:00) on Labor Day so we were the only diners. Mid-meal a repairman went up on a ladder to fix a ceiling fixture a few feet away. Not really a problem at all but slight break in the mood.
